Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 96: Chapter 97: Encountering Yang Rui

Looking at the surroundings, Chu Linfeng smiled, ”I didn’t expect the environment here to be so beautiful, with clear mountains and water. Where’s the shadow of any magical beasts? Though, I’m really looking forward to them.”

”No magical beasts? This place is full of them. Lin Feng, you better be careful. The weakest magical beasts here are of Tier Three, and many of them move in groups. I really don’t get what that little girl meant by ’not very powerful’!” Sword Spirit said.

”Sister Yue’Er, your divine sense is the best, so I’m not worried. You can warn me about dangerous magical beasts in advance, and I’ll just avoid them. As for the not-so-powerful ones, I can slay them; this way, I won’t be in danger. Isn’t this a good plan?”

”Don’t be too happy yet. There are indeed many magical beasts here, at least tens of thousands. What’s most terrifying is not this place, but the fact that this domain is divided into four different realms. If the barriers between the realms are broken, then the real danger begins.” Sword Spirit said a bit seriously.

”What one realm, four realms? I’m completely confused; can you explain it clearly?” Chu Linfeng was completely lost in her explanation.

”Your current location is the realm for the ordinary class. Here, you can only meet students from the ordinary class. Of course, people from the Sea Dragon Academy will also appear. The four teleportation gates each send you to corresponding places.

To encounter students from the elite class or the inferior class, you have to break the barriers of this realm. By then, all kinds of low-tier and high-tier magical beasts will appear, got it?”

”I get it a bit. But this barrier should be hard to break, right? Otherwise, it wouldn’t be divided into four places. If high-tier magical beasts appear in the inferior class, wouldn’t it be a complete wipeout?”

”Death is normal; many have already died. Killed by magical beasts, students slaughtering each other for demon crystals, and your rival students. This is the greed and brutality of human nature.”

”Forget it, these things I’ll not consider for now. Can you help me see if there are any magical beasts around here suitable for me?” Chu Linfeng laughed, thinking it’s best to be cautious in such an environment; magical beasts are dangerous, and so are people.

After a moment, Sword Spirit answered, ”The nearest magical beast is about twenty miles away, but there’s an acquaintance of yours about one kilometer away. Do you want to join her?”

”Who?”

”Yang Rui, the girl with the mask.”

”Forget it; I’d rather be alone to avoid unnecessary trouble!” Chu Linfeng thought having one more person would mean one more effort; it’s best to keep his secrets to himself.

”Go east; the magical beasts in this area are weaker!” After a while, Sword Spirit finally said.

Chu Linfeng didn’t dare to be reckless and directly wielded the Cyan Frost Sword in his hand. Although he had learned the Heart Sword technique, using his finger as a sword was never as powerful as using a real sword, let alone an iron-shredding Divine Sword.

After walking for about ten minutes, Chu Linfeng stopped because he saw someone, someone he didn’t want to see right now, Yang Rui.

”Sister Yue’Er, didn’t I say I didn’t want to meet her? Why did you lead me this way?” Chu Linfeng asked a bit gloomily in his heart.

”This area has the weakest magical beasts. Naturally, you would run into her if you come here. What’s so strange about that? Don’t underestimate her; this girl is not simple; her talent is no less than yours.” Sword Spirit said confidently.

People who are deemed ’not simple’ by her are all exceptionally talented. Chu Linfeng put away his dismissive thoughts; maybe he would need her help in the future.

Thinking this through, he quickly went forward and shouted, ”Yang Rui! Over here!” Chu Linfeng waved at her from a distance.

Yang Rui naturally saw Chu Linfeng, and seeing him waving at her, she walked over, ”Chu Linfeng, is it really you? This place is so big; I haven’t seen a single magical beast. I really don’t understand what this competition is for, not even prepared, nothing to eat or drink.”

Seeing Yang Rui’s somewhat complaining expression, Chu Linfeng laughed, ”This is to sharpen one’s willpower, to see how to survive in a harsh environment. Let’s go! More people, more care for each other!”

Yang Rui nodded, and the two of them headed eastward. During the day, they encountered four Tier Three magical beasts in total, which were easily slain, and each of them got one demon crystal.

Not every magical beast has a demon crystal inside; many do not. Getting a demon crystal requires luck.

Another day passed, and Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui continued to search for magical beasts until noon when they saw a figure coming toward them.

Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui continued forward and soon met the person ahead. He was a youth about twenty years old, disheveled and in a sorry state, with clothes torn by jungle thorns and covered in mud, evidently having suffered losses in the harsh forest environment.

The two glanced at each other, seeing that the youth’s clothes did not have the Celestial Dragon Academy emblem, they immediately contemplated killing him.

When the youth saw Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui, a male and female who both looked about sixteen or seventeen, his guard immediately dropped.

”Haha, after walking for days, I finally see two living people. This Magic Beast Forest is really big; so many people teleported here, and I didn’t see anyone for half a day.” The youth, holding a long sword, laughed lightly, looking relaxed, but his eyes were fixed on Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui, flickering with an uncertain light.

”It seems we are really destined to meet. Which class are you two from? I haven’t seen you before.” The youth appeared harmless.

”Which class are you from? Why are you asking as soon as you arrive? It doesn’t make sense!” Chu Linfeng thought this youth was pretending to be innocent in front of him and had no intention of killing him yet.

”Alright then!” The youth didn’t mind, his eyes sweeping back and forth on Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui:

”This place isn’t safe, full of danger everywhere. Why not follow me in the future? Perhaps I can protect you, though there’s a small condition: give me all the demon crystals you’ve obtained. Keeping them on you is a waste; why not do me a favor, and I’ll ensure you complete your task smoothly.” Saying this, the youth cautiously moved toward Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui.

Chu Linfeng showed a playful smile, flipped his hand, and the demon crystal he placed in the storage ring immediately appeared in his hand. He shook the demon crystal and laughed, ”If you want it, come get it.”

Seeing the demon crystal suddenly appear in Chu Linfeng’s hand, the youth’s eyes lit up, and he immediately looked at Chu Linfeng’s palm, discovering a quaint ring on his finger.

”A storage ring!” The youth exclaimed, his breathing suddenly becoming heavy, his greedy gaze undisguised.

”The ring on your hand is troublesome for you; why not give it to me along with the demon crystal? Let me keep it safe, as keeping these with me will undoubtedly be much safer than with you, and can also reduce many deadly troubles for you.”

The youth suppressed his excitement, even his tone trembled a bit. In his mind, given Chu Linfeng and Yang Rui’s age, they couldn’t possibly be his match, and he was confident of handling them.
