Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 95: Chapter 96: Entering the Magic Beast Forest

Lu Xue glanced at Lin Feng and continued, ”This hunting competition with the Sea Dragon Academy is essentially a life-and-death struggle. Dear students, you must be mentally prepared; danger and opportunity coexist.

This is also considered a task. If you can successfully complete it, you will naturally receive rewards from the academy upon your return. The better your ranking, the better the rewards!”

”What kind of rewards?” a student asked.

”The students of the ordinary class will have their monthly Star Stone supply changed. It used to be one, but now it will be three, provided you can return.

Additionally, for students who reach the top hundred, there will be one additional Star Stone for each rank they advance. If you can make it to the top ten, you can earn ninety Star Stones.”

Lu Xue’s words immediately piqued the students’ interest. ”Master Lu, why don’t you tell us the rules of this competition?”

”This competition is different from previous ones. Every student in the academy must participate, including the Swordsmith class and Alchemist class, although the difficulty level varies.

Students from the inferior class only need to acquire ten Demon Crystals to complete the task, students from the ordinary class need fifty Demon Crystals, and as for the superior class, at least two hundred Demon Crystals are needed to complete the task.”

”After all this talking, you still haven’t gotten to the point. When did our beautiful instructor learn to keep us in suspense?” a student couldn’t wait any longer.

Chu Lin made nothing of these Demon Crystals. He already had a plan for his Star Stones, but he reluctantly listened to keep a low profile.

”Those who complete the task can return via the Teleportation Array. Of course, those who wish to receive ranking rewards need to obtain more Demon Crystals—the outcome of the competition is based on the number of Demon Crystals acquired,” Lu Xue continued.

Many felt this was slightly unfair. If dozens of people handed all their Demon Crystals to one person, who else could hope to win? Or if stronger students directly robbed the weaker ones along the way.

”I know what you’re worried about. Since fairness must be achieved, the academy naturally has its methods. Do you see the red stone in my hand? This is what ensures fairness.”

Chu Linfeng observed the red stone in Lu Xue’s hand, which surprisingly had a layer of energy fluctuation on its surface, indicating that the stone was not simple.

”This is an extremely precious Red Luminous Stone. It contains a small space similar to a Storage Belt, but with a unique attribute: it records the user’s characteristics. If the Demon Crystals you acquire are placed inside, even if someone else takes them, they are invalid. Any remaining Demon Crystals after the task can be used as your own.

Therefore, students without the strength to complete the task should quickly find a teleportation point to return to the academy. Otherwise, being killed by other students would be a great loss. Opportunities and dangers coexist, and I hope you all can complete the task,” Lu Xue said, casting a special glance at Chu Linfeng.

Lastly, only students who complete the task can return to the academy via the teleportation point. Those who haven’t completed it better not hold onto luck; otherwise, being teleported next to high-ranking Magical Beasts will make survival impossible.”

”Master Lu, where is the task completed, and what level of Magical Beasts are there?” a student immediately asked.

In the Celestial Dragon Country, there is a special Magic Beast Forest, accessible only through Teleportation Arrays unique to the Sea Dragon Academy and the Celestial Dragon Academy. For students’ safety, a peerless expert once slayed all high-level Magical Beasts inside. Now, the highest level you might encounter are Tier Six to Tier Seven Magical Beasts.

After so many years, whether there are Tier Eight or Tier Nine Magical Beasts is unclear because the Teleportation Array leading to the Magic Beast Forest can only teleport those below the Eighth Layer of the Earth Martial Realm. Even if you encounter danger, we are powerless to help.”

”Instructor, can we opt out?” a student asked fearfully.

”You can, but only if you can defeat me. Otherwise, you have no choice but to complete it unconditionally!” Lu Xue said sternly, surprised to find so many cowardly students among them.

For a moment, many students closed their mouths. Lu Xue, with her Eighth Level of Earth Martial Realm strength—who would dare provoke her?

”Now, I will distribute the Red Luminous Stones to everyone. Join me at the academy’s Teleportation Array tomorrow morning. Whether you live or die, win or lose, will depend on your luck,” Lu Xue said, as many Red Luminous Stones appeared on the podium.

Chu Linfeng’s thoughts were numerous; entering the Magic Beast Forest was indeed dangerous. Ruoxi, Jingyi—they too would be in danger. He must protect them while being cautious of those in the academy bearing grudges and the experts from the Sea Dragon Academy. The thought made his head ache.

After obtaining the Red Luminous Stone, Chu Linfeng left directly. ”Chu Linfeng, you are doomed to die in the Magic Beast Forest,” Ouyang Hong muttered in the classroom corner.

He considered visiting Lin Ruoxi and Sima Jingyi but refrained, worrying that meeting after nearly a month would involve too much sweet talk, which might delay his entry into the Magic Beast Forest, leading to a loss.

The following day, at the Celestial Dragon Academy’s Martial Arts Training Ground, many had already arrived before Chu Linfeng. With the academy’s generous rewards, many desired to seize the opportunity.

Upon his arrival, Chu Linfeng quickly found Lin Ruoxi and the others, exchanged a few words, and then Dean Xu’s voice emerged.

”Dear students, in this competition between our Celestial Dragon Academy and the Sea Dragon Academy, I hope you win and bring glory to our Celestial Dragon Academy.

Of course, this depends on your abilities. In the Magic Beast Forest, you will encounter many Magical Beasts, as well as students from the Sea Dragon Academy. What should you do when you encounter them? Kill—leave none alive if you can.

Let me tell you the best way to acquire Demon Crystals: eliminate the other side—the Sea Dragon Academy students. Killing students from the Celestial Dragon Academy will yield Demon Crystals that won’t count.

The Sea Dragon Academy students hold Blue Radiance Stones while you hold Red Luminous Stones, specifically prepared for this competition. When they encounter you, they too will not hesitate to eliminate you, so you must exert all efforts without any mercy.

This competition lasts one month. I hope you endure, as we await news of your victory here! Now follow me and enter the Teleportation Array one by one.”

Dean Xu rambled on for quite some time, testing the patience of the listeners. Now, finally, everyone felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as they could enter the Teleportation Array.

The Teleportation Array lay in a corner of the Martial Arts Training Ground, featuring a grand circular platform. In its center stood four large gates, each preceded by a stone pedestal with a massive groove resembling those on the altar inside the Star Chamber.

Dean Xu stepped towards the four gates, removed dozens of Upper Grade Star Stones from his person, and sequentially placed them into the grooves on the stone pedestals, causing a wave of energy fluctuations to emanate from the four gates.

”Superior class students will enter the first gate, ordinary class the second, inferior class the third, and the fourth gate for the Swordsmith and Alchemist classes. Enter in order—speed it up! This Teleportation Array consumes a massive number of Star Stones.”

One by one, students were transmitted away. When Chu Linfeng stepped through the Teleportation Gate, he only felt an intense spatial fluctuation and a formidable pressure around him. Yet a few breaths later, it vanished, and he found himself in a primeval forest.
