Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: The Eve of Departure

Everyone remained silent, as these people were the hardest to deal with. A slight mishandling could bring trouble to the family, truly a hot potato.

Seeing no one spoke, Chu Yuanba glanced at Chu Linfeng, ”Feng’er, what do you think?”

Chu Linfeng had already weighed the pros and cons of handling these people carefully in his mind. He stood up from his chair and said:

”Father, elders, I think we can follow their wishes; those willing to stay may stay, those unwilling can leave without being forced.

However, those who stay must undergo an assessment to check for any hidden motives. Those who pass the assessment will have their original treatment restored, those who fail will be expelled from the Chu Family.”

”Feng’er, so how do you propose we assess them?” Chu Yuanming thought this idea was good and asked immediately.

Chu Yuanming’s question was actually the thought of everyone present. They all looked at Chu Linfeng, hoping he would provide a satisfactory answer.

”It’s actually quite simple to assess these who wish to remain, it can be summed up in two words. The first word is observe.

Observe their performance within the family, see if they can achieve results, and watch for any improper behavior.

The second word is wait, give them a year, within which if there are no errors and they can improve their strength, remember that an elite disciple can replace ten ordinary ones.

We need excellence, not numbers. After a year, we’ll conduct a strength assessment; those who can reach the Fifth Layer of Black Tortoise Realm will stay, those who cannot will be swept out of the Chu family, which serves as a punishment for their past mistakes.”

Zhao Fei spoke slowly, and the authority in his words sent a chill down one’s spine.

After hearing Chu Linfeng’s answer, Chu Yuanba asked, ”What do you all think of Feng’er’s suggestion? Does anyone have any additions or subtractions?”

”Feng’er, who will handle this task then? We can’t follow them around every day. If you ask me, just sweep them all out to avoid trouble!” Chu Yuanming said.

”Fourth Uncle, I also want to sweep them all out, but there are members of the Chu family among them. The Chu family is already lacking in numbers now, there’s no need to do that. Despite the trouble, we can preserve some of our strength.”

Chu Yuanba pondered for a moment before saying: ”Let’s go with Feng’er’s suggestion. Though it’s a bit troublesome, it’s feasible.

Yuanming, you’ll take full responsibility for this matter! If any other situation arises, we will discuss it further! Now everyone, go about your business!”

After everyone left the conference hall, Chu Linfeng and Lin Ruoxi directly returned to his room. Throughout the meeting, he had been holding back his injuries, and upon entering the room, he couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of blood.

”Lin Feng, you...” Seeing Chu Linfeng spit blood, Lin Ruoxi was momentarily flustered.

”Ah! I feel so much better; this congested blood has been stuck in my chest, and finally spitting it out feels refreshing!” Chu Linfeng laughed upon seeing Lin Ruoxi’s panicked expression.

”You... Can you not scare me like this anymore? You’re going to frighten me to death!” Lin Ruoxi complained upon seeing that Chu Linfeng was alright.

Chu Linfeng wiped the bloodstains from his mouth, closed the door, walked to Lin Ruoxi, gently grabbed her small hand and said:

”I won’t do it again. Seeing you upset makes my heart ache too. After being apart for so long, we can finally be together again.”

Being held by Chu Linfeng, Lin Ruoxi felt an indescribable sensation, as if this feeling had been long anticipated.

”Lin Feng, I understand your meaning, I...”

At this moment, Chu Linfeng had already dominantly kissed her lips, his strong hands began to roam endlessly over her body.

The face veil sensibly fell to the ground, and for a moment, their breathing became rapid.

Slowly, they couldn’t help but move towards the bed, everything was so naturally fluent, and the urgent sound of breathing clearly entered each other’s ears.

Just as Chu Linfeng was about to make his next move, Sword Spirit Yue’er’s weak voice arrived.

”Lin Feng, you mustn’t get involved with her. Have you forgotten what I asked of you before? Wait until she reaches the Earth Martial Realm, then she will gain another improvement, right now it’s no good for either of you.”

The Sword Spirit’s voice was like a cold shower, awakening the heated Chu Linfeng, whose hand, having slipped to the forbidden zone, halted its further actions.

”Damn it, how did I forget this matter!” He secretly blamed himself.

Lin Ruoxi opened her eyes, full of blush, seeing that Chu Linfeng hadn’t crossed the line, and said:

”Why... why did you stop?”

A woman, especially a beautiful woman asking such a question leaves a man truly perplexed on how to respond. (I certainly wouldn’t know)

Chu Linfeng released Lin Ruoxi, sat by the desk, poured himself a cup of tea, and drank it all in one go.

After a moment, he replied, ”We can’t do that right now. It would greatly affect your strength improvement; I can’t harm you for my selfish desires!”

Lin Ruoxi wouldn’t naturally understand the meaning behind Chu Linfeng’s words, ”Did I do something wrong?”

At this moment, she had already dressed herself, but the blush on her face hadn’t faded.

”No! Some things I can’t explain clearly, but you should know the huge change you underwent after that time.

If you reach the Earth Martial Realm, you may experience such a change again, so we must exercise restraint.”

”Thank you, Lin Feng, you’re really good to me. I will try my best to break through to the Earth Martial Realm quickly, so you can soon have your wish fulfilled.” Saying this, Lin Ruoxi felt her heart almost leap out.

Suddenly, recalling something, her face lit up, ”Sima Jingyi said we must reach Celestial Dragon Academy within a month, which means you passed directly as well. I was sad about this for a long time.”

”You’re considerate! The competition at Celestial Dragon Academy is intensely cruel; we must all strive hard! We’ll learn even more formidable martial skills there.”

Chu Linfeng was also moved in his heart, he had known about entering Celestial Dragon Academy long ago, just hadn’t had time to tell Lin Ruoxi, unexpectedly she worried for him for so long.

”Martial skills? My current martial skills are pretty good, but I can only use the first two moves; the latter four, I have no impression of.”

”What’s going on, and where did you obtain this martial skill?” Chu Linfeng recalled Sword Spirit Yue’er mentioning her martial skills were a basic martial skill of the Vermilion Bird Race.

Lin Ruoxi thought for a moment and then walked to the desk. After Chu Linfeng helped her pour a cup of tea, she said:

”I remember when I broke through to the Eighth Layer of Black Tortoise Realm, the Vermilion Bird Mark on my forehead suddenly emitted a red light.

I immediately felt a sharp pain in my mind; after a while, the pain disappeared, and the method to practice this martial skill appeared in my mind, but only the first two styles.

The latter four styles, however, left no trace behind!”

”How did you know there were four more styles?” Chu Linfeng thought Lin Ruoxi’s situation was somewhat similar to his Wind Chasing Sword Technique, only revealing more techniques when strength reaches a certain realm.

”Before the two martial skill styles, there was a piece of text, its general meaning indicated that everyone who obtains the Vermilion Bird Mark has the opportunity to learn this martial skill, consisting of six moves, each more powerful than the last.”

”I see; maybe once you break through to the Earth Martial Realm, you’ll be able to learn the next two moves.” Chu Linfeng was truly amazed, the Vermilion Bird Mark contained martial skills, something he never heard of before.
