From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Su Jiameng had always thought there was a limit to a person’s misfortune, that there would always come a day when things would take a turn for the better. However, after taking on the wrong mission by mistake and almost losing her life, she started to doubt her own beliefs. Some people are just naturally unlucky, wherever they go, misfortune follows, a lifetime full of bad luck... unfortunately, she considered herself to be that peculiar anomaly plagued by bad luck.

Counting back, she considered herself someone quite experienced over the years, having faced all sorts of challenges. Yet reality kept shattering others’ perceptions, setting a low bar for her streak of bad luck. Let’s not even talk about her first life, the second was filled with tragedy, the third with incessant twists and turns, and now, she hardly got through a cross-plane mission, with a difficulty level so high it made her neck ache from looking up...

Damn, does heaven intend to make her suffer even more! Su Jiameng carefully reviewed the entire mission and the important notes, feeling as if a tight knot was stuck in her chest, neither coming out nor going down, and if it wasn’t for her open-mindedness, it might have choked her.

In the second life, she was tormented countless times by the Insect Race, and in the third... well, Insect Race goes without saying. She could guarantee if she were lucky enough to complete this cross-plane mission, upon returning to her previous plane, there would be endless Insect Race lining up to hunt her.

And in the current plane where she’s on a mission... hah, the only consolation is that the Insect Race is no longer the main threat... In fact, after more than 1,500 years of indiscriminate slaughter, both the Insect Race and other cosmic races were gravely wounded, leaving none capable of defeating the others.

In the following hundred years, humans developed a massively destructive autonomous intelligent robot army, drastically reducing casualties, almost wiping out the Insect Race and leaving them utterly demoralized. With persistence, it wouldn’t take another fifty years to completely eliminate this race from the universe... However, without the Insect Race, the situation for other interstellar beings was no better...

It was even more difficult and dire than during the Insect Race’s rampage... To put it simply, the phrase ”If you don’t court disaster, you’ll not suffer disaster” sums it up perfectly!

The defeat of the Insect Race only pushed all cosmic beings into an even more terrifying abyss... Su Jiameng furrowed her brow, of course, those previous words were not to suggest the Insect Race deserved to survive, but rather that many strayed off the path in dealing with them.

For example... the ancestor of courting disaster, the Jialanluo Clan! In this plane’s progression, the Jialanluo Clan remained an overpowering race, withstanding battles with the Human Alliance and Insect Race, never being overshadowed.

As this prolonged Insect Race war neared its end, the Jialanluo Clan emerged as the most well-preserved race in the universe. With great strength naturally came greater influence, this superiority gradually fostered ambition...

In fact, from Su Jiameng’s perspective, there was no cosmic alliance without its own ambitions! But the ambition of the Jialanluo Clan was genuinely too large! To dominate the entire universe, they used cloning technology, which had matured during the war with the Insect Race, to undergo mitosis and then massively produce autonomous intelligent robot armies with great power, integrating cloned ”Jialanluo Clan” with robots to create a race of half-robot half-Jialanluo...

The experiences of the Jialanluo Clan teach us two crucial life lessons: first, ”If you don’t court disaster, you’ll not suffer disaster,” and second, ”he who digs a pit for others falls in himself!” In the eyes of their makers— the Jialanluo Clan, these cloned and modified ”people” were not considered life, but were merely disposable pawns, sent to serve as cannon fodder and weapons for slaughter.

However, even though these were cloned and modified beings, they had their own thoughts and feelings, being of flesh and blood. But the makers did not recognize this, sending them off to die on the battlefield, building victory on human sacrifice.

The Insect Race hadn’t been completely eliminated yet, when the Jialanluo Clan first waged war on several nearby small cosmic biological alliances, sending the modified ”weapons” into the front lines, where they were invincible and unstoppable!

The Jialanluo Clan quickly expanded their territory, amassing various valuable resources, but in their smug success, they were unaware that resentment and a yearning for freedom were spreading and growing among those continuously manufactured ”beings.”
