From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”Safe travels!” Gu Ningyi summoned his mecha vehicle from the Mecha Space Hub. With a brisk leap and two small thrusts, he soared over a hundred meters, landing steadily onto the mechanical arm of the mecha, then calmly walked into the cockpit.

Watching the other person’s mecha head in a certain direction, Su Jiameng smiled faintly. Suddenly, a message appeared in her personal brain mailbox, signed by Gu Ningyi, and its content made Su Jiameng furrow her brows slightly...

[If you can return alive, I will tell you who the real father of your two children is. The events of the past are quite convoluted, and the man did not act with intent, there are other secrets involved. However, if unfortunately you fall heroically, this secret need not be told. The children will return to their biological father, otherwise, they would be adrift, ultimately lonely and miserable.]

Su Jiameng’s eyes shrunk in shock, incredulously rereading his private message! This Gu Ningyi... could he really know what transpired in this body before it turned sixteen, and is aware of unaltered and undisguised facts?

Who is the real father of the children? Su Jiameng couldn’t help but tighten her fists. She felt no affection for the man she had never met, neither curiosity nor disgust. To her, he was simply an irrelevant stranger.

But according to Gu Ningyi, does he not only know the children’s real father but even understands that man quite well and knows the specific events back then? And the phrase ”The man did not act with intent, there are other secrets involved” — what does that mean?

Whether it was post-drinking misconduct or something else, could a grown man not control his lower self? Su Jiameng was only sixteen at the time! Even in the Earth Era, not to mention the interstellar era, she was a child absolutely ignorant of such matters!

Su Jiameng’s brow wrinkled with a bit of aversion to the possibly existent man, irrespective of his reasons for wrongdoing. It is a fact that he hurt a sixteen-year-old girl, vanished without a trace afterward, and was absent even for the children’s growth. Could it be that the man was completely ignorant while Gu Ningyi managed to trace the lineage of Huaixi and Huaifeng?

If he had even a shred of conscience, why did he not expend some effort to find the original body that suffered misfortune? Why leave her wandering alone on a poor planet, living in such destitution? Did he truly know nothing?

Moreover, since Gu Ningyi knows the man, is there truly no link between them? Why did he not actively search for her? Regardless of whether he was a victim or perpetrator back then, in front of the original owner, wasn’t he indeed a criminal?

Momentarily confused by anger, Su Jiameng forgot that the other party might have ended up in prison... However, Gu Ningyi mentioned that the children might return to their birth father’s side, indicating that currently, the man couldn’t possibly be living behind bars... All sorts of thoughts filled her mind, making it challenging for Su Jiameng to focus her thoughts.

After a while, Gu Ningyi sent another message, continuing the previous conversation, [I know your mood might be very poor now, but regardless, I hope you can listen to me. Return alive and give that bastard a good beating, as long as you don’t send him to the morgue, I don’t care. If you die, the children’s custody will return to his hands... and this is no joke.]

[I realize that your relationship is very complicated, and you might not even acknowledge that man’s existence, nevertheless, Huaixi and Huaifeng have half of their genes from him. Based on this connection, Huaixi and Huaifeng, losing maternal care, the best choice is to return to their birth father’s side rather than go to an orphanage.] One must admit, Gu Ningyi’s words are right, yet also loathsome!

[Given your cautious personality, you have likely planned out a back road for the two children... But plans cannot keep up with rapid changes; who can predict what will happen in the future? I can assure you, if that man requests custody of the two children, no one can object a whit, besides, the robots in your family don’t have the right to raise children.]

Su Huaixi, Su Huaifeng... Should have been named Gu Huaixi and Gu Huaifeng, the eldest and second grandsons of the Gu family’s ”Hua” generation. If the elder knew of these two children’s existence, he wouldn’t let them wander outside. His younger brother isn’t a fool either, give him a small opportunity he would uncover this shocking secret, by then whose hands would custody lie in, does it even require thought?

Thus, the best approach is for Su Jiameng to return alive. Given Gu Ningxuan’s rather shady past, it is impossible for him to righteously contend with Su Jiameng for the children’s custody because morally, he stands no chance.

Gu Ningyi’s words were not to pierce her heart but were a form of reverse encouragement, laying the groundwork for the eventual truth reveal.

However, he never anticipated that man plans yet heaven schemes, he hoped for Su Jiameng’s safe return, but he didn’t foresee that after this dialogue he would never see her again...

Gu Ningyi never expected that the first words he would say upon meeting his younger brother for the first time would be, [She’s not coming back.]

”We’ll discuss these issues once I’ve completed the task... then you must tell me who the bastard man is!” Su Jiameng sent a reply, then angrily shut off her brain, her fists clenched with a creak.

An impending war within a war was about to break out, yet neither Su Jiameng nor anyone else anticipated the pervasive nature of ”variables”.

Fear not a godly opponent, but fear a teammate akin to a pig... Liang Xiaonuo’s internal anger gauge was already filled several times over, eager to catch those wretches undeserving of being called even pig teammates and beat them to death immediately!

The battlefield was not a place where they could run amok! (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation and monthly votes. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
