Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1311: Public enemy

“Boss, the zombie horde is about to arrive.”

Xiao Min heard her subordinate report before she told Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming nodded. He looked at the tall corpse tower and ordered the evolved he had grabbed to help stack the tower, to flee.

Regarding mission four, which demanded at least a thousand people, the number of corpses wasn’t a problem. But Ye Zhongming was not sure what the use of this corpse tower that would be swallowed by a zombie horde in just a few minutes.

Since Talos Red Dwarves had such a request, then he would do it.

Due to Ye Zhongming and Meng Ao’s intense fight, many buildings had collapsed. Especially over at the river, some ruins covered the river, allowing zombies from the north to arrive. They were quickly spreading through the city, and in a short while, Ji City would be covered by zombies.

At least until now, the zombie horde had an advantage over humans. Moreover, as there were more high-level zombies and they grew smarter, even Ye Zhongming and his female guards didn’t dare to battle them.

The evolved who were here to stack the corpse tower were delighted and ran outside. They knew that if they didn’t flee, the faster zombies would catch up, and they would turn into dinner... or breakfast…

“Let’s go, too!”

Ye Zhongming got onto Yellow Ball’s back and led the guards away.
The matter here ended, and he completed the four missions perfectly. He could only wait and see how the Talos Red Dwarves would reward him.

Apart from those rewards, Ye Zhongming gained other things… From Dark.

The unlucky Reina Star Faction spokesperson was here to deal with Meng Ao’s matter. But he did so wrongly and angered Ye Zhongming.

Even if they had flipped on each other, Ye Zhongming didn’t choose to kill Dark. He didn’t understand some things and didn’t dare to be too vicious. But there was still a need to extort him for some compensation.

To stay alive, Dark gave Ye Zhongming three things.

One was space equipment—an unassuming silver metallic ring. The space was huge, a few thousand square meters.

Space equipment was rare, and Ye Zhongming only had the space crystal, Blood Stepping Boots, and material bag. He didnʼt have much space to use as he had to carry more things, especially some sand, to activate his bloodline.

This space ring helped to solve this problem.

When Dark gave him the equipment, he didn’t seem to sad about it. Ye Zhongming suspected that the races in the universe had grasped space technology and could craft such equipment.

After getting the ring, he observed it and didn’t see signs of it being replicated. There were even words and runes carved on it like they were the creator’s signature. ȑＡɴǒᛒΕŞ

This reduced Ye Zhongming’s worries. If not, he would have gone against his word. He didn’t want something that was not valuable to Dark at all.

The second thing was weird. It was a jade bed.

There was no level, no light, only warmth and smoothness.

Although this thing looked good and would definitely be ranked in a country’s top few treasures in peacetime, its value in the apocalypse wasn’t huge. Evolved wouldn’t be interested in such a jade bed.

But this was different. Dark said that it didn’t come from Earth and was from the races in the universe. It was created from something called grand matter. If you sleep on it, there would be two obvious effects. One was to increase mental energy; the other was to increase the toughness of the skin.

The first was easy to understand. Increasing Ye Zhongming’s mental energy meant increasing his combat strength. Skin toughness was explained by Dark. It was a change that couldn’t be seen but was very useful. It was the skin’s defense. If you added enough toughness, it would be like having another defensive piece of equipment.

The ability seemed simple, but it was very practical. Increasing skin toughness meant increasing defence, which increased his chances of surviving. Everyone in the apocalypse wanted this, and Ye Zhongming was no exception. You had to be alive to talk about other things.

Also, the bed wasn’t a one-time-use equipment. Anyone could receive the buff, so that increased its value.

Ye Zhongming was worried that its effect would reduce or disappear over time, but Dark assured him it wouldn’t. As long as they exposed it to sunlight for a few hours each day, it would charge and keep its effect.

In the universe, sunlight was the most used energy source.

The final item was a transmission device.

The function was similar to the communication part of the battle contribution badge. There was also a primary and secondary, like a phone.

This thing didn’t look like much, but Ye Zhongming decided to keep it when Dark took it out.

This was something called Shadow Moon Stone. You can keep in contact over a large area. Not only could you transmit voice, you could even transmit videos.

Cloud Peak’s faction range was huge now, and they had many bases. Like Little Peng’s Linhai base, like the Talking Lady’s new base. Like Chameleon’s various intel stations. Even Puxing Town and Ying City were considered.

The battle contribution badge was good, but range was an issue. The wearer was another issue. The core members couldn’t remain in one place for a long time to act as a contact. That would mean they would give the enemies a chance to strike them.

Although Le Dayuan had been developing some communication methods using some items and battle beasts from the wheel, he was unable to link the world like in peacetime. Information gap still existed and it would cause huge problems at crucial moments.

This was something that gave Ye Zhongming a headache.

They had to develop. If they expanded, this problem would get worse.
