My Youth Began With Him

“Yueyao, do something here. Su Yu’s bullying me!”

“Mian, you should sing,” Han Yueyao responded.

“I see what’s happening… you guys planned this.” Huo Mian became suspicious; why else would Han Yueyao chime in with everyone else?

“Haha, Mian, we all believe in democracy, so let’s vote! If there’s one person that doesn’t want you to sing, then you don’t have to sing, what do you think? Okay, those who want Mian to sing, please raise your hands…” Qin Ning then raised her hand as high as she could.

So did Jiang Xiaowei, Zhu Lingling, Gao Ran, and Wei Liao…

Tang Chuan and Su Yu looked at each other and also raised their hands. Han Yueyao, who was standing next to Su Yu, also quietly raised her hand…

“Hahaha, you guys suck!” Huo Mian felt like her friends had dug a hole and pushed her into it.

“Wait, there’s more…” Ni Yang, Chen Jie, Zhixin, and Bella all raised their hands as well.

“Honey…” Huo Mian looked over at Qin Chu with puppy dog eyes.

“Baby, you have a sweet voice. Don’t hold back, show them what you’ve got.” Then, Mr. Qin raised his hand as well.

Huo Mian’s head went blank. “You guys suck! This is peer pressure!”

“It’s okay, Mommy, even if the entire world abandons you… so will we, haha!” Little Bean said with a laugh as she raised her hand.

Seeing Little Bean raise her hand, so did Gao Boyuan.

“Pudding, Mommy’s been good to you, right?” Huo Mian placed her last glimmer of hope on Pudding.

“Mommy, I understand how you feel right now.”

“I know you do, Mommy can’t sing, and they’re bullying me by making me sing, right? So you’ll save Mommy, won’t you?”

“Mommy, I think you can give it a try…” Pudding responded.

“Pudding, you!”

“Mommy, once you sing, everyone will know how much you suck. Then, no one will ever ask you to sing again. Isn’t that a win-win situation?”

Huo Mian: “…”

Upon hearing what Pudding said, everyone burst into laughter. Then, as Huo Mian watched helplessly, Pudding and Wei Yunchu raised their hands as well.

“Great, since everyone wants you to sing, you should sing.” Qin Ning laughed.

“Can I raise my hand in objection?”

“Denied,” Qin Ning said.

“I guess… I have to perform for you guys today then.” Huo Mian began to sweat.

“Correct, you can sing anything, even Two Blind Mice.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t. There’s lyrics in Two Blind Mice, I’m going to sing something without lyrics so you’ll all get to enjoy my sweet tone-deafness.” Huo Mian huffed as she put her hands on her waist and stared at the ‘traitors’ in front of her.

Oh how her heart ached… she was being peer-pressured into singing.

“Mian, do you want some music? I’ll ask the band to come over.” Qin Ning smiled.

“No.”

“Mian, you should get ready then, I’ll livestream your performance since after all, being tone death is a skill as well! I’ll make you famous on the internet,” Tang Chuan said as he took out his phone and began to film Huo Mian.

“Remember this moment, once my son is born I will have him avenge me!” Huo Mian said in all seriousness as she rubbed her belly.
