My Youth Began With Him

“You truly… don’t remember anything you did?”

“I…” Nie Lingxuan stood up slowly, feeling her mind was fuzzy.

“Take your time and think about the last thing you can remember.”

Huo Mian guided her carefully…

“I remember… I was in Los Angeles, drinking coffee… That’s the last thing I remember.”

Obviously, when she was in a coffee house in Los Angeles, someone drugged her and took her away. Hypnotized, she then went to New Orleans and took the invitation from Xixi.

Huo Mian felt fearful when she put all the pieces together.

“Dr. Huo, what on earth happened?” Nie Lingxuan had a terrified look in her eyes.

She remembered she had been in the States but now she was in a yacht in China; she just couldn’t remember how she had returned to China.

“Miss Nie, it’s… a long story and I can’t explain it with a few words. But you must keep what I am about to say in mind.”

“Okay.”

“Never mention this thing to anyone, not even your agent. Don’t tell anyone that you’ve returned to China. Book a ticket and fly back to the States as soon as possible… Just forget the whole thing… Besides, you must hire more bodyguards. It seems some evil people have their eye on you. I suggest you go to New Orleans and stay with Xixi; she is pregnant and has nothing to do at home, so she’ll welcome your company. Rick’s house has top-level security. Of course, this is just my advice and it’s your decision whether to take it or not.”

“Thank you, Dr. Huo.”

Nie Lingxuan knew Huo Mian had kept something from her but she also knew that Huo Mian would never harm her.

Walking Nie Lingxuan out of the yacht, Huo Mian went to the great hall.

Seeing her, An stood up immediately.

“President Huo.”

“Yes?”

“Where’s Lu Yan?” An looked eager.

“She… left.”

She had wanted to say Lu Yan had never been here. But An’s question meant that he had noticed something, so she decided to tell him the truth.

“She left? So soon?” An looked incredulous.

“An, you know Yan’s background, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Then you must know she has many enemies.”

“I know.”

“So, the longer she stays here, the more danger she’d be in.”

“Yeah, I understand.”

“Her return is a secret. I hope you… won’t tell anyone about it.”

“I… won’t tell. But it’s a pity that I couldn’t see her and give her the snacks…” An lowered his head, feeling disappointed.

Ever since he knew about Lu Yan’s identity, he had given up any thought of being with her.

He had just wanted to see her, but it turned out seeing her was a luxury.

“I’m sorry… When she comes back the next time, I’ll give them to her.”

“Okay.”

An nodded. He was about to leave when a thought occurred to him. He turned his head and said to Huo Mian, “President Huo, President Su is wounded.”

“Wounded? When?”

“He got stabbed by Nie Lingxuan when he captured her. Then he fought with Huo Siqian… I told him to see you and have the wound dressed, but he refused to go. I don’t want him to get an infection.”

“Okay, got it. I’ll handle it.”

Hearing Su Yu tried to keep his wound a secret, Huo Mian felt bad.

She walked to Su Yu’s side and said with a dark expression, “You, get up and come with me.”

“Um… What’s up?” Su Yu didn’t know why Huo Mian was angry.
