Child of Destiny

Chapter 2196: Fighting The Two Demon Dragonʼs Apostles

...

The Demonic Transformation that Zeal and Ardent were somewhat different from what the other demonic players had.

It was unlike the usual demonic transformation where the players would seem to paint their skills black, grow a pair of horns sticking out of their forehead, a pair of evil wings growing on their back, along with a devilʼs tail.

These were the basic features of a True Demon that all the Demonic Players were chasing after.

However, as members of the Demonic Church of Terror, the Demonic Transformation that Zeal and Ardent had looked more like Dragonification rather than Demonification.

Black scales appeared on the surface of their skin, covering their body. Then their fingers grew longer while their nails became razor-sharp talons, turning their hands into deadly claws.

The bones on their legs had also somewhat reconstructed. Their thighs had become stout, while the knees became more defined and forward. The shins retracted back a little, becoming firmer, while their ankles elongated along with reptilian feet with sharp claws.

Their stances became digitigrade because of all these, standing on their toes.

There were also a pair of small antlers sticking out from each side of their foreheads, while their hair grew longer and thicker, turning into a black mane.

With an eerie pair of eyes filled with evilness and sharp fangs sticking out of their mouth to a certain extent, their overall appearance became extremely terrifying, especially when the dark miasma that they were constantly releasing.

…

Diablo glanced at them for a moment, sensing the disturbing and annoying feeling that he was getting from them.

This further confirmed that there was something from the ʼPower of Terrorʼ that these followers of the Demonic Dragon of Terror were somewhat affecting him, especially when he was currently releasing both his shadow powers.

He guessed that this Power of Terror had some adverse or detrimental effects against him, or more specifically, the powers that he currently possessed.

However, he was still not sure whether it was his Ancient Shadow Powers or the Sanctified Demonic Powers, or something else, but he was sure that it was somewhat affecting him negatively.

There was also a chance that there was something within him that was resulting in a similar situation.

Fortunately, this restrictive effect was not as powerful as the one that he was sensing from Dragulia previously, putting him in a more favorable position.

He was able to withstand this negative effect, giving him the ability to fight at his full power.

Regardless, he had to further confirm it while fighting against the two.

Poof!

Without further ado, Diablo made his move, disappearing from his current position and only leaving a shadowy smoke lingering in the air.

Swoosh!

Ardent and Zeal, in their half-demonic and half-draconic transformation, stood still despite sensing the immense threat coming after them.

It was as if their minds had slowed down and had stopped working properly after seeing the immense speed of their opponent.

Shing!

The tip of the stiletto in Diabloʼs left hand was almost upon Ardentʼs eyes when he reappeared.

He was about to succeed with this attack when a terrifying roar suddenly came out of the latterʼs mouth.

Roar!

This roar somewhat disturbed Diabloʼs mind, forcing him to a momentary pause, which then led his opponent to respond.

Ardentʼs mind was instantly cleared by that roar, jolting his body awake and making him respond to the incoming attack.

Clang!

Waving his shortswords in a circle and upwards, he managed to deflect the incoming strike and redirect its course away from his head.

At the same time, he swiftly retreated, understanding that he was currently in an unfavorable position, especially when the shadow dagger in his opponentʼs left hand was already about to strike him.

Swoosh!

Diablo was about to give chase when a series of sounds suddenly rang in his side.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

A swarm of black chains flew in his direction, circling and trapping him within their formation.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

Right at the same time, Diablo sensed that the surrounding mana was slowly being disturbed by the black miasma that was coming from these black chains, making it harder for him to control them.

ʼDemonic Dragonʼs Apostle Skill (Tier 2): Executioner – Dark Chain Prisonʼ

Diablo swiftly responded by releasing a strong force of mana that immediately revolved around him before turning into whips made of shadow that entangled with black chains, putting them in disorder and breaking the formation that they were creating.

ʼCelestial Shadow Art: Shadow Control – Dark Swirlʼ

Clank! Clank! Clank!

Amid the chaos caused by the clashing of powers, Diablo suddenly melded with the shadows, disappearing once again.

Ardent was already prepared this time, using his reinforced demonic eyes to scan the surroundings, locking on any suspicious movements.

Even the slightest fluctuations of mana in the air could not escape his demonic eyes, much less any unusual movements within it.

Swoosh!

Not long after, he spotted an unusual movement coming from a certain direction, making him swiftly respond.

Whoosh!

He suddenly disappeared from his current position before instantly appearing in that particular spot, showcasing his extreme speed.

He then swung his shortswords repeatedly, dominating the air with multiple sword silhouettes that were coming after his target.

Wail!

Eerie cries coming from hell could also be heard from each swing of his shortsword, which resonated with the sword flashes that he had created.

The two intertwined with one another before forming an image of a huge demonic head engulfing him.

The demonic head opened its mouth wide, swallowing the seemingly ʼvoidʼ before it.

ʼDemonic Dragonʼs Apostle Skill (Tier 3): Slayer – Terror Dominionʼ

Roar!

Seeing the incoming attack, Diablo could not help but click his tongue before using one of his lifesaving skills.

ʼShadow Dancer Skill (Tier 2): (Modified) Gale Ambushʼ

Swoosh!

His figure flickered for an instant before disappearing from his location once again, dodging the incoming attack easily.

Boom!

Right after dodging, Diablo appeared behind Ardent, who was still maintaining the final stance of his previous actions.

Diablo was about to execute a series of combos composed of high-level skills when the annoying chains appeared once again.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

They surrounded him one more time, discouraging him from continuing his actions.

Moreover, Zeal took the initiative to charge at Diablo this time. He appeared behind the latter, wielding the pair of chained sickles with one of his hands while also manipulating the black chains through certain means.

ʼDemonic Dragonʼs Apostle Skill (Tier 3): Executioner – Demon Chains Massacreʼ

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Sensing the immense threat coming from the opposing side, Diablo swiftly responded by using one of his signature techniques.

ʼClass Fighting Style: Death Danceʼ

Swoosh!

His footwork was adjusted, disappearing from his opponentʼs sight while skillfully dodging the swarm of black chains that were coming to claim his life.

Right after dodging all the black chains, Diablo sprinted at extreme speed, charging straight ahead while holding the stiletto forward.

Along with the unstoppable momentum that he had generated with his sprint, Diabloʼs figure flickered for a moment before appearing before his opponent.

ʼShadow Dancer Skill (Tier 2): (Modified) Flickering Stabʼ

Shing!

Seeing the rapidly approaching tip of the pointed stiletto magnified right before his eyes, Zeal immediately crossed the sickles before him while also gathering all the black chains in front of it to build a massive and sturdy shield.

Boom!

The blockade of black chains instantly collapsed before the might of Diabloʼs attack.

However, Zeal took advantage of the powerful explosion to carry himself away from his current location, creating enough distance between him and the opposing side.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

At the same time, he made a strong pulling motion with his arms, dragging the black chains back and increasing the tension that they had.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

Along with these actions, Diablo, who was supposed to be passing through the shattered pieces of chains, suddenly found himself trapped once again.

The black chains were tightly wrapped around different parts of his body, restraining his limbs while also tying him down.

”Gotcha~!”

It was at this moment that Ardent had suddenly turned around and pounced at Diablo from behind.

He dragged his shortswords behind him, channeling a huge amount of energy in them, which was a mixture of demonic and draconic powers.

At the same time, Zeal had also charged forward, dragging his sickles behind him. He had coordinated with Ardent to launch a deadly pincer while Diablo was currently trapped by his black chains.

ʼDemonic Dragonʼs Apostle Skill (Tier 3): Slayer – Annihilating Terrorʼ

ʼDemonic Dragonʼs Apostle Skill (Tier 3): Executioner – Shadow Demon Slaughterʼ

Roar! Roar!

Despite finding himself in such a predicament, Diablo remained calm.

He might have found that most of his skills had been grayed out, indicating that he was silenced by these black chains.

However, that did not mean that all his abilities were rendered useless.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Both his Ancient Shadow Powers and Sanctified Demonic Powers raged, flowing violently within his body to generate a strong momentum.

The two powers then intertwined with one another, forming a vortex of energy around his body.

Boom!

ʼCelestial Shadow Arts: Ultimate Move – Song of the Bramble Birdʼ

Shriek!

A shadow of a black bird suddenly appeared behind Diablo, revealing an ancient and enigmatic presence.

It spread its wings wide for a moment before slowly folding them forward to embrace him.

Following these actions, multiple shadows repeatedly traced the path that the wings had taken, creating a series of overlapping images.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

It was at this moment that the coordinated attack from Zeal and Ardent arrived.

BOOM!

...…
