Chapter 2162: Heart Realm Technique (Part 2): Pursuit

...

Seeing that Shin was looking at him with some anticipation, Professor Henry suddenly smiled and released his aura.

Swoosh!

Shin sensed that an invisible force suddenly swept through the entire place, just like when a Domain Realm Expert had established their domain.

However, compared to Domain Creation, this particular ʼdomainʼ that Professor Herny had established seemed to be something different.

He had personally seen Bernard summon his Domain during the ordeal against the powerhouse from the Black Serpent Mafia, and the latter as well.

(Chapter Reference 1435-1436)

The domineering presence that an individual released whenever they summoned their domain and the overwhelming power that they possessed within it were not present on this particular ʼdomainʼ that the old professor had summoned.

Moreover, the terrain and environment had not undergone any drastic change, just like when Domain Creation was established.

Seeing the confusion in Shinʼs eyes, Professor Henry smiled and asked. ”Curious, arenʼt you?”

Hearing this, Shin could not help but nod his head.

Professor Henry then nodded his head and explained. ”This is one of the combination techniques that I have created during my research when combining Martial Arts and Mentalism. You can call it one of my perfected Secret Arts.”

Hearing this, Shinʼs eyes suddenly brightened, fully amazed.

Secret Arts, it was a general term used to describe a technique that was a product of combining Martial Arts and Mentalism.

Unified Strengthening was one of them, which was the combination of ʼQi Reinforcement Skillʼ of Martial Arts and the ʼMentalism or Rune Enchantmentsʼ of Mentalism Techniques.

Shin created his embryonic version of Unified Strengthening before, but it had yet to reach its full form when his martial arts were suddenly sealed due to a certain accident.

There was also the time when Professor Henry had shown him a glimpse of what he could achieve when he successfully combined his Martial Arts and Mentalism, a Unison Type Secret Art.

(Reference Chapter 738)

From what he could remember, it seemed to be called the ʼFist of Dominionʼ, which was a combination of Martial Art Skill and multi-layered Mentalism Technique that had the essence of mental attacks, sealing, illusion, and suppression.

It was a type of art that attacked both the mind and body, which was extremely terrifying, and which was something I had even personally experienced.

These were the amazing techniques that solidified his decision to choose the Magic Ace Academy, the Research Department in particular, over anything else.

It was just a pity that a few accidents in between that he could not fully pursuing this path. However, he could also feel that there were still some merits in studying them, which would most likely help him in the long run.

But he also had some cooperation from the arrogant prick living within him to achieve that goal.

Setting these thoughts aside, Shin looked at Professor Herny in great anticipation, waiting for the latter to further explain about this technique.

”Remember what I have just said about the ʼSpiritual Realmʼ?” asked Professor Henry with patience.

He waited for Shin to nod his head before continuing. ”The idea of this technique is to ʼsummonʼ that party of ʼSpiritual Realmʼ into ʼPhysical Realm.ʼ”

”The first stage of this technique is to establish a firm connection with the ʼSpiritual Realmʼ with the help of oneʼs Spiritual Sense, which I call the ʼSpirit Heart Establishmentʼ.”

”Then you have to utilize the unification of mind, body, and spirit to become the bridge between the two realms, which will greatly enhance all your senses due to the combination of Spiritual Sense and your physical quantities, particularly your sensory abilities.”

”This stage, I call it the ʼSpirit Heart Expansion,ʼ” he then paused for a moment, before saying. ”This is the stage that I want you to achieve, which will also be the answer that you are looking for.”

Hearing this, Shin nodded his head seriously, understanding what the old professor was talking about.

Nodding his head, Professor Henry continued. ”The third stage of this technique is called the ʼSpirit Heart Manifestationʼ. In this stage, you will be able to fully manifest a fraction of the ʼSpiritual Realmʼ into the ʼPhysical Realmʼ, which will greatly increase your Mentalism prowess because of the connection that you have solidified with that other realm.”

”Not only that, because of this ʼconnectionʼ, your Mental Energy and Mentalism Techniques will also undergo a drastic transformation that will also help you with the next two stages.”

He then paused for a moment, trying to organize his next words in a way that Shin would be able to understand them well, before continuing. ”The next two stages will be incredibly hard for you to achieve since it requires you to both reach the Venerable Realm in Mentalism and the Domain Creation Stage in Martial Arts.”

”The fourth stage is called the ʼSpirit Heart Unificationʼ, which is meant to help you fuse both the Domain Creation and the portion of the Spiritual Realm that you have summoned in the Physical Realm, which will let the latter transform your Martial Arts or Mentalism Techniques into a Secret Art passively.”

”This is the realm that I have partially achieved,” he added while giving Shin a mystifying smile.

”The fifth and final stage, on the other hand, is something I called the ʼSpirit Heart Perfectionʼ – or the ʼHeart Realmʼ for short. It is the perfect fusion of Domain Creation of the Martial Artist and Mentalism Authority of the Mentalist.”

”As for what you can fully achieve in this stage, even I donʼt know. Everything that I know about this stage is based only on theory. However, I believe that once both the Domain Creation and Mentalism Authority, an individual will further take a step toward the ʼTrue Originʼ.”

The more Shin listened to Professor Henry, the more shocked he became. This technique that the professor was trying to make seemed to be pursuing the absolute unification of Martial Arts and Mentalism Techniques, or even further than that, especially when he mentioned the ʼTrue Originʼ.

It was also at this moment that Shin heard Unoʼs voice inside his head. [This old man is crazy. His ideas are beyond what other people dare to imagine, yet he has found a way to fully realize them.]

[Tsk! Tsk! No wonder he is cursed.] he added, seemingly repeatedly shaking his head.

Hearing this, Shin could not help but frown and ask. ʼCursed? Is Professor Henry cursed? What kind of curse? What are you talking about?ʼ

Uno went silent for a moment, seemingly contemplating something, before answering. [You should know that the Ancient Cultivation is a struggle against heaven to reach immortality or even further than that, yet the so-called cultivators dare to walk on this path regardless of consequences.]

[The current system that this era follows is no different from the ʼdescendantsʼ of the Ancient Cultivation.]

[Regardless of Martial Arts, Mentalism, or Swordsmanship, all these are pursuing the absolute strength, which will also lead toward the same direction as their predecessors. This is why the path for the Unification of Martial Arts and Mentalism is still on the table.]

[However, the deeper you walk on this path, the more you pursue that ʼAbsolute Truthʼ, that ʼTrue Originʼ. The more you look at it, the more elusive it becomes.]

[Even those Transcendent Realm Martial Artists, Exalted Realm Mentalists, and Sword Saint Paragons, who have said partially transcended constraints of Heaven, are having a hard time pursuing this.]

[Yet, here is an old man daring to directly look into ʼit.ʼ Do you think that the Will of Heaven will let anyone learn about its secrets?]

[There is a reason why the Ancient Cultivators and those before them face something called ʼHeavenly Tribulationsʼ every time they reach a certain conjecture on their pursuit toward this ʼTruth and Originʼ.]

[The current system of this era does not face these ʼTribulationsʼ since the world itself is already undergoing them.]

[The Heaven itself is also currently facing a certain predicament as a consequence of its own mistake. However, it does not mean that it is completely powerless as well, which is why those ʼcursesʼ are cast to certain people.]

He took another pause, seemingly appreciating the old man before him, before continuing. [This old man is quite crazy himself. Trying to achieve the unification of the body, which has transcended all its constraints, and the mind that has achieved complete enlightenment.]

[No wonder the stubborn and selfish ʼHeavenʼ is limiting his potential, preventing him from taking that step deeper into this path.]

[He may as well be one of the ʼAnomaliesʼ that is supposed to appear in this era-… just like your father.]

The more Shin listened, the deeper his frown became. He could not fully understand what Uno was trying to say, feeling that it was filled with riddles.

However, he at least understood a few things. Professor Henry seemed to have stepped into a certain taboo that attracted the attention of a certain terrifying ʼentityʼ, resulting in this so-called ʼcurse.ʼ

His father, Adam or Adamson Kinghand, seemed to have stepped into something similar as well.

The more he learned about this so-called ʼHeavenʼ, the more terrible his impression became.

He knew that this involved a certain secret, which was most likely what his parents were trying to tell the world through the game without attracting its attention.
