Child of Destiny

Chapter 2182: Teaming Up

...

Poseidon slightly furrowed his brows when he saw Diablo interfering with his battle, but did not immediately criticize the latter since he knew that there must be some reason behind it.

The Titan Guild had been working with the Hand of Midas on some of their operations, which were also giving them quite a lot of benefits.

Given that the Hand of Midas had a close relationship with the Empyrean Talons, Poseidon knew that he could not reprimand the latter without knowing their side.

”What are you guys doing here?” asked Poseidon while glancing at the other side of the battlefield.

Seeing that crimson streaks of light were flying from a distance and bombarding Leviathan and his army, he knew that Alucard was the person responsible for it.

”We are doing a commission nearby when we noticed something interesting happening here. Seeing that there are quite a few old acquaintances from the other side, we have decided to join the fun,” replied Diablo while keeping an eye on Dragulia.

Naturally, Poseidon would not believe such bullshit, but did not dwell on the topic, fully understanding their current situation.

Diablo took this opportunity to somewhat explain, sending a private message to Poseidon.

Diablo: We are originally not planning to get involved in this battle, but an emergency calls for it.

Poseidon frowned quite deeply when he read the message before asking in return.

Poseidon: What situation?

Diablo: These guys are planning to launch a grand sacrificial ritual that will cover the entire Oath City and its nearby region.

Diablo: If we do not make haste, then a terrible situation will fall on this kingdom.

Diabloʼs tone was quite heavy with the messages that he just said, making Poseidon understand that the situation was not ideal.

Moreover, given that it was something that made Diablo quite concerned, Poseidon could only think that it must be related to the true intentions of the Demonic Churches.

After all, this person was more familiar with the Demonic Churches than them.

This piece of information had also made Poseidon quite worried about the members of the guild that they had brought for this operation.

”If it concerned an entire kingdom, then it can also affect our territory in the future,” thought Poseidon, feeling worried.

The situation seemed to have reminded him of the current state of the Dark Cloud Kingdom and a few regions and nations around it.

The Dark Cloud Kingdom was currently the main base of operation of the Demonic Players after it had been demonified.

It had also become the main battlefield between the Righteous Churches and the Evil Faction, especially due to the invading demons.

All the scouts that went through the gates had already finished the demonification of the Dark Cloud Kingdom, letting a huge portion of the vanguard forces of the Demons set foot on the Atlas World.

There were still no extremely powerful demons among these batches of demonic army due to the dimensional tunnel being a bit small and unstable for those fully grown members of the Bug Tribe.

This was why the demons and demonic players had taken a different approach, transporting some demonic eggs first and nurturing them into larval form.

”Are they planning to release a Demonic Larvae of the Bug Tribe here?”

This was the first thought that Poseidon had when he recalled all the information that they had in hand.

After all, such incidents were already happening in different parts of the Aurora Continent, which was disrupting the balance of the two sides.

The big guilds, powerful mercenary groups, and famous adventurer teams were also getting a lot of commissions from NPC Cities regarding these matters.

This was why Poseidon had thought that the demonic players here were planning to awaken an extremely powerful Demon Bug here in this place or turn the entire place into another demonified region, sending these thoughts to Diablo through a private message.

Diablo understood Poseidonʼs thoughts as well, but the current situation was different from what Poseidon was thinking.

However, Diablo could also not overlook such a situation. After all, both Levithan and Dragulia were involved in this, so there must be a lot of hidden schemes behind their actions.

Diablo did not explain the specifics to Poseidon since they did not have that much time in hand, only mentioning the key points that they had to be worried about.

Gaining a rough understanding of the current situation, Poseidon had also issued a series of commands to their people, instructing them to work with the people that Mister Jiang had.

Dragulia had a rough idea that Diablo and Poseidon were communicating with each other, but he let them be, either fully confident with their side or just did not care about it altogether.

Given the aura that he was releasing, it was clear that he was more interested in fighting strong opponents rather than the so-called Great Sacrificial Ritual itself.

”Well, that was not surprising since this guy seems to have already gained enough blessings from the Demonic Dragon of Terror,” mumbled Diablo after noticing the actions of Dragualia.

His eyes then turned wide when he thought of another possibility. ”That means, there is another candidate for the Arch Heretic position operating in the Oath City right now!”

He then immediately informed Poseidon and Alucard about this, alerting them about the possible situation in the city.

”Njord is currently suffering a curse after being killed by Leviathan earlier,” mumbled Poseidon before swiftly sending the report to their headquarters while also asking for reinforcements.

After a while, Dragulia suddenly spoke. ”It seems like you have finished discussing everything. It is time to focus on what we have at hand.”

Immediately after, he raised his hand, summoning an array of black spheres behind him, which were blazing with dense demonic flames.

Snap!

With a snap of his fingers, these blazing dark spheres suddenly fell from the sky and flew straight to Diablo and Poseidon, who were already prepared for such a move.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Diablo hopped away from the tree trunk he was standing on before suddenly disappearing into stealth.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Torrents of water suddenly rose right after the blazing dark spheres hit the waters, creating a huge water veil that Diablo used to further hide his presence.

Roar!

On the other hand, Poseidon waved his [Divine Trident] to summon a huge water dragon that opened its mouth and swallowed all the descending demonic fireballs before exploding.

BOOM!

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Amid the curtain of water created by the explosion, more water dragons suddenly broke through and flew straight at Dragulia.

They flew at him from different directions, covering all the escape routes that he could take.

Unfortunately, Dragulia had no intention of retreating and instead chose to face the incoming water dragons head-on.

He raised his fist, summoning an eerie and evil fire to cover it, before suddenly throwing a powerful punch forward.

Roar!

Terrifying wails of ghosts, along with the roar of a dragon, reverberated throughout the air when he threw his fist forward and released a massive beam to greet the incoming swarm of water dragons.

BOOM!

The entire swarm was annihilated by this attack, turning the water dragons into a mixture of mist and rain.

Swoosh!

Dragulia was about to continue his assault when he suddenly sensed danger coming from behind.

Swoosh!

He then swiftly turned and immediately raised his right hand that was covered with scales, seemingly planning to catch the incoming dagger.

Whoosh!

However, before he could even catch the dagger coated with shadow element, he saw that Diablo and his weapons suddenly turned into a real shadow and passed through his body.

Swoosh!

Right after passing each other, the two turned almost at the same time, attacking each other.

Dragulia made a blade with his hand before thrusting it forward while Diablo spun midair and threw a back-handed strike with his dagger.

Dragulia was fast, but Diablo was faster. Even before his claws could reach the latter, the dagger of his opponent was already upon him, reaching his neck.

If it were any regular attack, then he would just ignore it since the scales covering his neck were more than enough to block it.

Unfortunately, he could sense that the shadow powers that were covering the daggerʼs blade were so potent that they could threaten him.

Even the draconic and demonic blood flowing through his veins seemed to warn him about these shadow powers.

”Tsk!”

Left without a choice, he could only retract his arm and use it to block the incoming strike.

Clang!

Blazing sparks flew from the point of contact, signifying how sturdy the scales covering his arms were, especially after being covered with his unique dark mana.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Immediately after, the two exchanged dozens of blows within a couple of seconds, transforming their figures into a series of blurs midair.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

Bang!

Not long after, the two were separated from each other after forcing the other party to retreat with their powerful blows.

Boom! Boom!

Taking advantage of this situation, Poseidon summoned a massive whale made of water element, emerging from the waters beneath the two.

Wail~!

It opened its colossal mouth, seemingly trying to devour Dragulia in a single mouthful.

Roar!

Unfortunately, Dragulia was able to quickly respond, summoning a massive dragon of equal size with his demonic dragon powers, clashing against the giant water whale.

BOOM!

A massive explosion immediately erupted right after the two sides clashed, producing a huge curtain of mist right after.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Amid this mist, multiple shadows suddenly appeared, surrounding Dragulia from all directions.

These shadowy silhouettes carried a dangerous scent along with their shadow powers before suddenly launching simultaneous attacks against Dragulia.

Shing! Shing! Shing!

Dragulia grinned maniacally when he saw that this hand suddenly opened his mouth wide, releasing a deafening roar, sounding like a dragon.

Roar!

The surrounding mana then suddenly became chaotic, disrupting both the natural flow that interfered with the skill of his opponent.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Each silhouette then exploded one after another, revealing Diabloʼs true body, which Dragulia bombarded with a barrage of dark fireballs.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
