Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 967: Chapter 355: Old Acquaintance of Great Xia, Chaos in Qinghe Village, Vajra Master, Xu Ning’s Surprise

”Stop rescuing people for now. All Cold Resistance Level, group into teams of ten, spread throughout the village and kill those arsonists for me. Don’t let any escape. The people from the Zen Temple will be here soon, don’t panic!”

”It’s the leader’s voice!”

”Yes, deal with those arsonist bastards first.”

”We can’t save too many people, let’s take care of those beasts first!”

”The Bhikkhu will arrive soon, those people won’t get away.”

......

The initial reaction of most Cold Resistance Level was to save people. It wasn’t until they heard the leader Zhang Cheng’s voice that they suddenly realized and quickly formed groups of ten, dispersing throughout the village to search for those who were still setting fires.

Qinghe Village’s response wasn’t considered slow, but there were simply too many arsonists. In less than five minutes, nearly thirty places were set on fire in the entire village.

Moreover, the timing of the arson was perfect, just when everyone was in their deepest sleep, leaving no time to react.

”Bastards, stop it, still trying to set fires!”

Bam!

Though people had already started finding the arsonists and even started to engage them, the fire was beyond control, rapidly spreading with an unstoppable momentum. Thick black smoke rose above Qinghe Village, replacing the snowflakes that were originally falling from the sky, and the situation was completely out of control.

In the western corner of the village, at a place where coal stone was piled in a wooden shed, Yang Ning threw a torch onto it, then looked up at the thick smoke in the sky, a trace of shock flashing in his eyes.

”There are definitely more of them than just us. I estimate at least a hundred people or more. Jiangxia Town actually sent in so many reinforcements?”

”It’s not just Jiangxia; the other six, including our Beishuo, should have also sent more people. Don’t chatter, continue setting fires. People are already coming this way, attract as many as you can, retreat if the situation turns unfavorable!”

Upon hearing Huang Lin’s words behind him, Yang Ning’s face froze for a moment. He immediately grabbed his torch and started looking for the next target.

”Stop it, you wretch!”

However, at that moment, a squad from Qinghe Village finally found them. They saw Yang Ning with the torch in his hand and, without a word, took out their bows and arrows and started firing at him wildly.

Clang... Clang...

Huang Lin blocked in front of him with a Big Saber, directly slashing away several Iron Arrows.

”I’ll hold them back, you just keep setting fires!”

”Yes, sir!”

After responding, Yang Ning quickly turned and continued searching for the next arson point, while the Qinghe Village ten-man squad was held back by Huang Lin and others, unable to do anything but worry.

........

In the eastern part of the village, Xiahou Qin led over twenty people in setting fires frantically. This area was closest to the Zen Temple, and the Cold Resistance Level of Qinghe Village seemed very assured, as no one came over, giving him more time to set fires.

However, Xiahou Qin’s face was not relaxed at all. While setting fires, his eyes were always on the position of the eastern Zen Temple.

Finally, seeming to notice something, he suddenly turned his head and shouted sharply at those still engrossed in setting fires:

”The people from the Zen Temple have arrived, drop the torches and run to the west, hurry!!”

His voice carried some panic, and upon hearing it, everyone quickly threw away their torches and followed him, running towards the west side of the village.

Whoosh......

However, ultimately, someone was a step too slow.

Countless sharp white arrows suddenly flew from the east, creating a large arrow rain that directly covered the bodies of two Cold Resistance Level members at the back.

The white arrows didn’t seem to be iron; they looked like the color of bones. The sharpness of the arrowheads was far beyond imagination, piercing straight through the two bodies and then into the ground, leaving only the tail feathers exposed on the surface.

”Don’t look back, keep running!”

Xiahou Qin saw the white Bone Arrow at his feet, his brow twitching. Noticing someone dared to look back, he angrily shouted, signaling them to continue running.

”Ignorant scoundrels, dare to disturb the peace of the Zen Temple. All Bhikkhus with Hair, disperse throughout the village, make sure to kill these arsonists without mercy!”

An angry voice suddenly echoed from the eastern side. Xiahou Qin, who had already reached the main building in the village, turned his head involuntarily and saw gray-robed, hair-garbed monks rushing from the Zen Temple on the east side. A trace of joy flashed in his eyes.

At least four or five thousand, all came out, good!

But this trace of joy quickly turned into shock.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh......

Over five thousand monks, almost each holding a white Strong Bow. While shooting arrows throughout the village, they quickly split into two groups, swiftly rushing towards the south and north directions.

Moreover, they weren’t shooting to kill but solely to drive those arsonists towards the main building in the center.

”They plan to surround us from the south and north directions, keeping us here.”

Xiahou Qin immediately saw through their intention, but he dared not slow his pace, leading the twenty people behind him to dash madly towards the west side.

”All Cold Resistance Levels in Qinghe Village, go to the west side to block the main road, don’t let any of these scoundrels escape!”

The same middle-aged monk who earlier issued orders to the monks spoke again.

Zhang Cheng, the leader of Qinghe Village, along with the other Cold Resistance Levels, even those engaged in battle with the arsonists, all dropped what they were doing and quickly gathered towards the west side of the village upon hearing the middle-aged monk’s command.

”Stop setting fires, break through to the west, if you are slow you won’t be able to escape, hurry!”

In just a short while, the south and north directions had already been occupied by over five thousand gray-robed Bhikkhus with Hair. They had already split and were closing in on the west side. If they managed to close in, there was absolutely no way they would escape.
