Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 965: Chapter 355: Old Acquaintances of Great Xia, Chaos in Qinghe Village, Vajra Master, Surprised Xu Ning (2)

”Qinghe Village only has over two hundred Cold Resistance Level, which isn’t much, but the Bhikkhu with Hair living in the Zen Temple on the village’s east have over five thousand. Although their strength is all at the Three-maned Level, that’s honestly Cold Resistance Level. With such numbers, they can already compare with our Nine Towns...”

Yang Ning paused slightly at this point, then continued, ”The Zen Temple to the east of the village can still only be considered the outer area of Dajue Temple. In February this year, ten official bhikkhus came out of the Zen Temple, all with strength above Twenty-maned Level, with the strongest even exceeding Fifty-maned. If the official bhikkhus within Dajue Temple all have this level of strength, then Nine Towns could be in trouble.

There are also those five elusive and mysterious masters whom we haven’t been able to meet. Judging from what we’ve seen so far, those Five Great Masters must all be Xianyang Level experts, but it’s unknown how their strength compares to the Xianyang Level of Nine Towns!”

Commander Huang Lin nodded slightly upon hearing this, his expression unusually grave.

The affair of Dajue Temple was initially known only by Jiangxia and Chui Mountain two towns.

This is understandable, as the East Entrance of the North Bank of the Heng River is caught between these two towns, north and south, affording them the nearest vantage, naturally making them the first to learn about the situation.

But unexpectedly, by the end of last year, people from Bashang Town also discovered the Dajue Temple. Jiangxia and Bashang are adjacent, and they are the only two towns in Nine Towns along the water, with a relationship already extremely hostile. Bashang Town sharply realized Jiangxia was deliberately hiding the news about Dajue Temple to monopolize the benefits, so they directly leaked the information.

As a result, the Nine Towns came to know about Dajue Temple.

Nine Towns aren’t like those weak camps, everyone knows that although Deceitful Monsters are dangerous, slaying them could bring huge rewards. Under such circumstances, the other seven towns naturally weren’t willing to let Jiangxia and Chui Mountain have all the benefits.

Therefore, at the end of last year, under the lead of the Northern Three Towns, an operation jointly launched by the Nine Towns against Dajue Temple commenced.

Officially, it was said to exterminate Deceitful Monsters to protect the safety of Nine Towns, but in reality, everyone was aware of what it was truly about.

Last year, people from Jiangxia and Chui Mountain had already infiltrated Qinghe Village. Naturally, upon learning this, the other seven towns didn’t want to fall behind. Except for Muyin Town, which clearly stated its refusal to get involved, the remaining six towns all secretly sent people in.

And these seven were sent by Beishuo Town.

Having been in Qinghe Village for eight months, Huang Lin finally understood why Jiangxia and Chui Mountain had been lurking for over a year without any progress.

This Dajue Temple is simply too tightly guarded against outsiders.

The Chilong Lake where the temple is located is just three kilometers east of Qinghe Village. Over five thousand Bhikkhus with Hair from the Zen temple to the east of the village patrol day and night within a two-kilometer radius around Dajue Temple, making it as hard as climbing to the sky to pass through this check.

Even if one managed to sneak past, there’s another barrier within a kilometer radius of Chilong Lake, with the official bhikkhus inside Dajue Temple who are even more formidable, and their numbers don’t seem small either.

In the first half of the year, each of the Six Towns sent Cold Resistance skilled in stealth, trying to approach and spy on the temple. However, none returned. It became clear to the Six Towns that Jiangxia and Chui Mountain had obviously suffered losses before, and kept quiet to trap them.

After losing a batch of experts, the Six Towns dared not advance recklessly and continued to place people in Qinghe Village to slowly gather information.

The idea of the Eight Towns wasn’t complicated either. As long as they sent people to infiltrate Qinghe Village, given enough time, they would integrate into the village’s core circle. By then, even if they couldn’t enter Dajue Temple, they would at least gain some useful information.

But it turned out they were oversimplifying things.

Not only is Dajue Temple tightly guarded against outsiders, but Qinghe Village is the same.

The village is full of hidden sentries. Anyone daring to inquire about Dajue Temple or those six-year-old children’s conditions would immediately draw attention. At best, they’d be watched for ten days to half a month; at worst, they’d be taken away.

Initially unaware of these, the teams infiltrating from various towns stayed in contact with each other. But after discovering that several people were caught each month, they wised up too and no longer met, instead communicating through paper balls.

Since Dajue Temple is closest to Jiangxia Town, Eight Towns decided from the beginning that Jiangxia Town would be in charge of this operation, with the remaining seven towns following their command.

Which is why Jiangxia Town is now tasked with relaying messages to them.

”Commander, the eight infiltrated scouts in Qinghe Village add up to no more than sixty or seventy people, with less than half at Cold Resistance Level. It’s unlikely that this many people could disrupt the entire Qinghe Village, right?”

”What do you mean unlikely? With these few people, it’s completely impossible!”

Huang Lin shook his head directly, giving a definite answer.

If one intends to infiltrate Qinghe Village, one has to blend in seamlessly. Having everyone at Cold Resistance Level would arouse suspicion, so the personnel deployed by the eight this time are roughly the same; three or four at Cold Resistance Level, a couple at the Earth-digging Realm, and one or two children.

Although Huang Lin couldn’t determine the number of scouts from the other seven, he was certain that the total number at Cold Resistance Level wouldn’t exceed thirty.

Thirty Cold Resistance Level individuals aren’t needed for the five-thousand-plus Bhikkhus with Hair from the eastern Zen temple to take action. Just the over two hundred Cold Resistance Level people in Qinghe Village, as long as they react in time, can easily handle them.
