At this moment, Zhang Jingdong suddenly said, ”Wu Shang, your father Wu Jianguo has to show respect when he sees me. How can you talk to your elder like this?”

The entire crowd was instantly stunned!

Even Song Yunshan and Liu Yang were baffled.

While they knew Zhang Jingdong’s current influence, rendering Wu Shang insignificant in his presence, they hadn’t expected him to say such a thing.

Wu Shang was initially taken aback but quickly retorted fiercely, ”Zhang Jingdong, what the hell are you saying? How dare you disrespect my father? Are you looking for trouble?”

Zhang Jingdong didn’t bother with idle talk and directly took out his cellphone to call Wu Jianguo.

Wu Jianguo was drinking and bragging with some local small-time bosses when he heard the phone ring, and instinctively felt annoyed.

However, upon seeing that it was Zhang Jingdong calling, he immediately composed himself and told the group, ”I need to take an important call,” then quickly stepped out of the room.

”Hello, Uncle!”

Before last night, he felt embarrassed to call Zhang Jingdong uncle, given how young Zhang Jingdong was compared to him, who was nearly thirty years his senior.

But now, he called him uncle with genuine warmth and ease.

There was no choice. After last night’s events, Zhang Jingdong had become known as someone more powerful than Wang Ye in their town.

Now that he had managed to connect with such an influential figure, addressing him as uncle was nothing. He wouldn’t even hesitate to call him ”dad” if Zhang Jingdong asked.

Zhang Jingdong hadn’t expected him to be so direct, and he instinctively glanced at Song Yunshan.

Seeing her still pondering why he was Wu Shang’s elder, he felt reassured, then briefly explained the situation to Wu Jianguo.

He subtly suggested that Wu Shang shouldn’t call him Uncle, but Boss Zhang would suffice.

Wu Jianguo realized his son had publicly embarrassed Zhang Jingdong, felt a wave of fear, and quickly agreed repeatedly.

Zhang Jingdong then handed the cellphone to Wu Shang: ”Your father has something to tell you.”

Instantly, everyone was baffled yet again!

What was going on?

Zhang Jingdong could casually call Wu Shang’s father and seemingly intended for his dad to reprimand him.

Many on the scene knew Wu Shang’s father, Wu Jianguo, was adept in both the grey and legitimate circles in the town; Wu Shang often boasted about it.

This made them even more curious.

Wu Shang initially thought Zhang Jingdong was bluffing. With his father’s power, it was impossible for him to have any dealings with or have given his number to Zhang Jingdong, a mere kid.

Even if Zhang Jingdong managed to find his dad’s number and badmouth him, Wu Jianguo would never reprimand him.

He was an only child, spoiled by his parents since childhood, allowed to drive a car worth over a million to show off.

He coldly stared at Zhang Jingdong: ”Zhang Jingdong, stop chatting nonsense with me. It’s impossible for you to have my dad’s number.”

Zhang Jingdong chuckled, ”Alright, since you don’t believe me, don’t blame me then...”

Then he switched on the speakerphone, ”Jianguo, your son doesn’t believe I have your number, I’ve turned on speakerphone, please tell him.”

A stern voice from Wu Jianguo immediately came through: ”Xiao Shang, what are you doing? Answer the phone, don’t waste Boss Zhang’s time!”

Although Wu Shang found the tone unfamiliar, he knew it was his father and quickly took Zhang Jingdong’s cellphone, canceled speakerphone, and stepped aside to take the call.

The entire crowd was stunned again at that moment.

Their once mocking and gleeful gazes toward Zhang Jingdong transformed into amazement.

Because just now Wu Shang’s father called Zhang Jingdong ”Boss Zhang” on the phone, which was genuinely perplexing!

Song Yunshan couldn’t help but ask, ”Jingdong, what... what’s going on?”

Zhang Jingdong casually replied, ”I did some business with his father. Now, his father and I are peers, which naturally makes me his elder.”

Although Song Yunshan found it odd, she chose to believe him.

Given Zhang Jingdong’s current influence, there was truly no one in the town who could compare with him.

Not long after, Wu Shang finished the call.

The arrogance and dominance on his face had turned into dejection and confusion.

Because his father had just told him on the phone that Zhang Jingdong was now the family’s financial lifeline, and from now on he must hold Zhang Jingdong in high regard, obeying whatever Zhang Jingdong commanded him to do.

If anything went wrong and Zhang Jingdong became dissatisfied with him, his father would not only forbid him from driving the car but also reduce his monthly living expenses from eight thousand to five hundred.

This hit him where it hurt.

Furthermore, it was the first time his father had shown such severe sternness in reprimanding him, thoroughly scaring him.

Though he was filled with anger, he knew he had to heed his father’s words.

So he immediately discarded all pride and dignity, approaching Zhang Jingdong respectfully, and handed him back his cellphone with both hands: ”Boss Zhang, I’m sorry, all of this was my fault. I sincerely apologize to you.”

”I hope you can forgive a foolish person for their mistakes just this once.”
