Chapter 1421: Chapter 539: Tong Xin Experiences the Infinite Beauty of Love! (Super Chapter Requesting Subscription)

”...Mm.”

Zhang Jingdong saw that she was now completely tamed, so he started the car and headed straight for downtown.

Halfway there, following the principle of giving a sweet date after hitting with a stick, he主动 switched on concert mode just for Tong Xin.

But today he didn’t sing Xu Wei, he sang Zheng Jun instead.

First was ”Naked”, then ”Cinderella”, and after that ”Back to Lhasa”.

When Zhang Jingdong sang the first two, Tong Xin was moved too, but she didn’t feel the same shock and excitement she’d had yesterday listening to him sing Xu Wei.

It wasn’t until he started singing ”Back to Lhasa” that she instantly resonated with it.

Especially when he sang ”Let the Yarlung Zangbo River wash my heart clean, let the peak of the snowy mountains wake my soul”, Tong Xin actually got so worked up she主动 reached over and held Zhang Jingdong’s hand.

So after that, Zhang Jingdong put the song on single-track repeat for her and played it several more times.

By the time they got back to Century Garden, the look in Tong Xin’s eyes when she glanced at Zhang Jingdong was downright complicated.

There was joy, surprise, relief, shyness, and a bit of...admiration?

They got out of the car and went upstairs hand in hand.

It was still rush hour, they still ran into lots of people heading to work, but this time, although Tong Xin was insanely shy, she never once let go of Zhang Jingdong’s hand.

Women really are this complicated, this changeable.

Just over two hours ago she’d wanted to go at Zhang Jingdong with her life on the line, and not only did he not coax her, he kept getting mad at her in all sorts of ways. Then on the way back he just sang a few songs for her, and she was conquered by him all over again.

Tsk tsk, that’s why being in love is sometimes a magical thing. You can spoil her in every possible way, indulge her in everything, and you might still not manage to get a kiss in a whole month.

On the flip side, you rile her up, torment her in all kinds of ways, and only occasionally toss her a small benefit, and in less than a week you’ve not only kissed her, you’ve got your hands on her, and she’s happily cooking for you.

Right now this guy Zhang Jingdong even started ordering dishes again: ”Today I want three scallion pancakes with egg, then a cold vermicelli salad, a plate of stir‑fried broccoli, a plate of stir‑fried shredded potatoes, and a plate of bean sprouts fried with beef. Any problem with that?”

Tong Xin nodded with pleasure. ”No problem!”

Then Zhang Jingdong said, ”I even ordered bean sprouts fried with beef and you still have no problem. Looks like you stocked up on a lot of ingredients ahead of time, huh?”

Though embarrassed, Tong Xin still nodded. ”Yeah, you help me this much every day, of course I have to cook properly for you and help you补补.”

Zhang Jingdong dotingly tapped her nose. ”So good, I’ve gotta reward you a little!”

As he spoke he suddenly pulled her into a tight hug, then planted a loud kiss on her pretty cheek.

Tong Xin instinctively felt a bit shy and annoyed, but she quickly remembered she wasn’t allowed to get mad, so she calmly said, ”Okay, go rest for a bit, I’ll go make dinner.”

Zhang Jingdong smoothly smacked her perky butt, then turned and walked away.

Tong Xin felt that oddly shameful yet inexplicably thrilling sensation, bit at the corner of her lip, and quickly headed into the kitchen.

In her bedroom, Zhang Jingdong played with that parrot for a while, then suddenly thought of something and quietly walked over to her wardrobe.

He opened three doors in a row and finally found the little panties he was looking for.

He’d originally thought that, like sports bras, she’d have at most one pair, but to his surprise she actually had several.

And two of them were even lace!

Zhang Jingdong chuckled inwardly, then quietly closed all the wardrobe doors again.

After about another ten minutes, Tong Xin brought all the dishes to the table, then came over and said to Zhang Jingdong, ”It’s ready, go wash your hands and let’s eat.”

”Okay!”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong walked out of the bedroom, washed his hands in the bathroom, then came over to the table.

While handing him his chopsticks, Tong Xin said, ”This is my first time making bean sprouts fried with beef. Try it and see if it’s okay?”

So Zhang Jingdong took the chopsticks, picked up some bean sprouts and a piece of beef, and put them in his mouth.

He chewed slowly and carefully, then said, ”When you soaked the bean sprouts, did you use plain water instead of salt water?”

Tong Xin froze at first, then nodded in surprise. ”Yeah...you can even taste that?”

”Of course,” Zhang Jingdong said casually. ”I may not know how to cook, but I’m great at eating. If you soak them in salt water, the bean sprouts will be crisper and more tender.”

Tong Xin nodded, humbly taking note. ”So that’s how it is. When I was reading the recipe it did mention that, but I forgot just now. I’ll pay attention next time for sure!”

Smiling, Zhang Jingdong said, ”But just by reading recipes you can already get to this level—your talent for cooking is pretty impressive!”

”Tsk tsk, I originally hoped to stay under 140 jin when I’m 50. Now it looks like your improved cooking skills have made that goal a lot harder to reach!”

Tong Xin had never heard such high‑level sweet talk before; it hit her right in the heart!

She paused for several seconds before saying, shy and delighted, ”As long as you like it, I’ll keep cooking for you.”

Zhang Jingdong hadn’t expected Tong Xin to say that, and immediately grabbed her slender hand. ”You said it yourself. Let’s pinky swear right now—whoever goes back on it is a little dog!”

As he spoke, he stuck out the little finger of his right hand.

Tong Xin hadn’t expected Zhang Jingdong to be this childish, but now that she’d fallen in love, her IQ had clearly reverted to her teenage‑girl days.

So she also伸出 the little finger of her right hand and hooked it together with Zhang Jingdong’s.

Eyes burning into hers, Zhang Jingdong said, ”Here we go. Three...two...one... Pinky swear, hang it high, a hundred years, no change, stamp!”

At the very instant they ”stamped it”, Tong Xin felt her heart turn to mush.
