Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 889: Chapter 364: Making Her Willingly Accept Punishment!

But she found it hard to believe, because true masters require years of practice and total immersion, which Zhang Jingdong clearly had not done.

So she suspected Zhang Jingdong was merely imitating, and she kept her eyes fixed on his next creation.

Yet, in less than three minutes, she was astonished by Zhang Jingdong once again!

This guy’s composition and brushwork were even more impressive than those of a top professional painter from the current generation of the Xin’an Painting School that she had witnessed in person!

Additionally, his technique and artistic conception were reminiscent of the renowned master of the Xin’an Painting School, Huang Bin Hong!

At this moment, Ye Jinyan was almost having an existential crisis!

The reason she loved landscape painting but never pursued it was because she realized after some time that she lacked the talent to reach the level of a top artist, so she simply gave up.

And now, she found that Zhang Jingdong was the embodiment of extraordinary talent; he was truly incredible!

The most amazing thing was that this guy usually seemed carefree, always flirting with girls and even a bit unserious.

Yet, his work reached the level of a top artist, a status that most, including herself, could only dream of achieving in a lifetime!

At this moment, Ye Jinyan gained a new understanding of Zhang Jingdong.

She discovered that Zhang Jingdong was the type who appeared nonchalant and arrogant, but was actually deep, well-read, and cunning.

About ten minutes later, Zhang Jingdong stopped his brush, turned to Ye Jinyan, and said, ”Could you please get some water?”

Ye Jinyan snapped out of her trance and quickly replied, ”Yes... of course!”

And this time, she did not have Lin Qiuyue go; she went herself.

Lin Qiuyue already thought Zhang Jingdong’s painting was beautiful, and upon seeing this scene, she immediately felt that Zhang Jingdong might very well become the future son-in-law of the Ye family.

First, she knew how much Ye Jinyan loved landscape painting, and Zhang Jingdong’s ability to paint to such a standard meant their relationship would surely progress rapidly.

Second, she knew how aloof Ye Jinyan could be with other men, yet here she was, helping Zhang Jingdong fetch things; truly, each has their match.

Meanwhile, Long Yue had been somewhat worried that Zhang Jingdong might lose the bet with Ye Jinyan, but seeing this scene, she suddenly felt completely at ease.

Soon Ye Jinyan brought the water.

She didn’t use a cup but instead used a bowl, a detail that proved her understanding of painting.

Zhang Jingdong took the water, made some adjustments, examined the entire painting, then placed the bowl aside.

At this point, he returned to his carefree demeanor, took two steps back, and turned to Ye Jinyan, ”Mr. Ye, I’m done. Please, have a look.”

Ye Jinyan’s gaze at this moment was completely devoid of the previous jest and composure, showing evident admiration and expectation.

She stepped forward, taking the spot where Zhang Jingdong had stood, and began to appreciate the work meticulously.

Within less than a minute, her gaze of admiration turned into awe, and eventually, it became uncontrollable joy and a touch of worship.

The joy was because she had unexpectedly appreciated such a top-notch painting, impeccable in technique, composition, and mood.

And the worship was because she had already been awed by Zhang Jingdong’s creative prowess during the painting process, and now, seeing the finished piece, she felt he was practically Huang Bin Hong reborn!

Especially his Broken Ink Technique and use of water, entirely capturing the essence of Huang Bin Hong’s teachings.

At this point, she couldn’t help but turn her head, looking at Zhang Jingdong with astonishment, ”Are you... a descendant of Huang Bin Hong?”

Zhang Jingdong instantly put on airs, ”No, but I used to copy Huang Bin Hong’s works a lot as a kid. I’ve probably drawn each piece in his collection at least dozens of times, and that’s how it turned out.”

”How... how is this possible?”

Ye Jinyan was even more shocked, ”You... you copied on your own, without learning from any masters?”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, ”Never, it’s not like I had that opportunity!”

”Back then, the most skilled painter I knew was my middle school art teacher, who taught me some practical techniques.”

Ye Jinyan was still incredulous, ”I’ve never seen anything like it. But if it’s really as you say, then your talent in painting is unmatched!”

”And you’re still so young, even Huang Bin Hong at your age was not at your level!”

Zhang Jingdong finally couldn’t help but laugh, ”You’re giving me too much credit! Although I know I’m talented, I’m aware of my limitations; after all, he was a pioneer, while I’m at best just an imitator, not comparable at all.”

Ye Jinyan responded earnestly, ”But if you’re willing to dedicate yourself to studying, I believe your future achievements in painting could definitely rival Huang Bin Hong.”

Zhang Jingdong waved his hand dismissively, ”That’s out of the question; any art requires not just talent but primarily interest to reach the highest level.”

”I used to have some interest in painting, but now it’s pretty much faded. At most, I’ll indulge in a little showcase when I’m itching to paint. Seriously dedicating myself to study and research? I’d go crazy in three days because my heart isn’t in it anymore!”

With that, Zhang Jingdong didn’t want to linger on this topic with Ye Jinyan, so he directly said, ”Let’s conclude the bet now.”

”Do you think my painting just now scores a 90 from you? If it does, I win; if not, you win. Be honest with yourself.”

Ye Jinyan pursed her lips and sighed, ”Well, even though I don’t want you to win, I have to admit that your skills are truly impressive. I’d give your painting... a 99.”

Zhang Jingdong instantly lit up, ”Haha, you really are fair and impartial, so I assume you’ll honor your bet?”

A slight blush appeared on Ye Jinyan’s face, but she quickly returned to her usual calm demeanor.

”So, tell me, what do you want me to do?”
