Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 881: Chapter 362: Alone with Her in the Study...

Zhang Jingdong and Yan Ning lingered together for a while before they got out of the car.

Seeing Yan Ning enter her home, Zhang Jingdong turned and left the villa area, then took a cab to Wanghai Mansion.

After getting into the elevator, Zhang Jingdong sent a text message to Chen Lu: ”Are you asleep?”

Chen Lu replied in less than five seconds: ”Nope.”

Zhang Jingdong immediately called her.

”So late and still awake, what are you doing?”

”Reading.”

”So studious, what are you reading?”

”Books on real estate.”

”Have you been thinking about me?”

”I think about you every day, every minute, darling, are you coming back tonight?”

”Haha, since you miss me so much, come and open the door now.”

”Really!? Okay!”

When Zhang Jingdong got off the elevator and reached the door, Chen Lu opened it right then.

In her hurry, Chen Lu hadn’t changed clothes.

At this moment, she was wearing a white floral nightgown.

The neckline was slightly low, and the hem of the dress was at least twenty centimeters above the knees, with white slippers on her feet.

Fresh and alluring.

Zhang Jingdong had been eating heavy food these past few days, and now seeing her in this homely fresh look, he immediately felt a surge of interest.

He immediately entered the room, closed the door, then wrapped his arm around her waist and gave her a hard kiss on her pretty cheek.

Chen Lu instantly closed her eyes in happiness.

After she smelled the alcohol on Zhang Jingdong, she opened her eyes again and said with concern, ”Darling, you must be exhausted!”

Zhang Jingdong smiled guiltily, then held her as they walked to the study.

The room was lit, and there were many books on the desk.

Zhang Jingdong went to the desk, glanced at the open book and the reading notes beside it, and exclaimed, ”Tsk tsk, it seems I haven’t misjudged you. Your hard work is truly reassuring!”

Chen Lu replied calmly: ”I’m not as smart as you, nor do I have your vision, so I can only read more books to not hold you back.”

”You always know what to say!”

Zhang Jingdong gestured for Chen Lu to come closer.

She approached him immediately.

Zhang Jingdong tilted her delicate chin: ”You look like you’ve lost weight?”

Chen Lu felt warmth in her heart: ”Not much, maybe because there’s been a lot going on with projects recently, it’s normal to lose a bit.”

”You’ve worked hard during this time... come, let me reward you well!”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong leaned in for a kiss.

Soon after, Chen Lu started reviewing her yoga class at the desk.

First the Double Triangle Pose, then the Cat Position stretch, followed by the Double Triangle Pose again...

Next to her was the book she had been reading, behind her was the lover she longed for day and night.

At this moment, she fully understood what true happiness is.

Half an hour later, the place where they were teaching moved from the study to the guest room balcony.

Because it was a high floor and truly had a riverside view, and the night was especially beautiful, Zhang Jingdong spoke more and more enthusiastically.

At two in the morning, they came out of the bathroom and returned to the master bedroom.

Zhang Jingdong stared at the ceiling for a moment, then asked: ”How are things at the company recently?”

Chen Lu quickly recalled, then answered: ”Pretty good, everything’s proceeding tensely yet orderly.”

”What’s your opinion on Wang Tao and Liu Zongheng now?”

This time, Chen Lu thought seriously before responding: ”I think Wang Tao is very decisive and daring, he doesn’t stick to the existing rules. Many seemingly difficult problems, he can solve in unexpected ways... but he’s very ambitious.”

”Although Liu Zongheng’s overall capability is somewhat less than Wang Tao’s, his interpersonal skills are no less, maybe even slightly better.”

”Moreover, he doesn’t have Wang Tao’s level of ambition, he admires you very much and is very loyal to you.”

Zhang Jingdong slightly tilted his head: ”You have a pretty sharp eye, but you mentioned ambition for both of them. Do you think Wang Tao harbors ulterior motives against me?”

Smartly, Chen Lu didn’t answer directly but approached it from another angle: ”To my knowledge, Wang Tao is the only son of Jiangdu’s largest real estate tycoon, Wang Ruocheng.”

”Although it’s been said that Wang Tao didn’t want to take over his father’s business, since he’s now entered the real estate industry and is working so diligently, in the future, after making some achievements through our company’s platform, whether it’s his father or his own pursuit of a bigger platform, I think he’ll choose to return to their family’s business.”

”By then, our two companies, due to overlapping businesses and both being in Jiangdu, will inevitably become competitors, and as Wang Tao knows most of our company’s affairs, the situation could become very unfavorable for us.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled contentedly: ”You’ve been with the company less than a month, and you’re already thinking on this level, I’m very pleased.”

”But what I want to tell you is, the highest level of employing people is to trust while doubting, and doubt while using them.”

”In principle, we can’t fully trust anyone because in this world, there’s no absolute loyalty; so-called loyalty is only because the incentive to betray isn’t enough.”

”However, because we need to accomplish things, we still have to use people, and as what we need to do becomes increasingly challenging, the people we need to use will become more and more excellent. And the more excellent a person is, often the harder they are to control.”

”So at this level, we absolutely shouldn’t expect them to remain loyal to us forever. We just need to ensure their interests and then have them help us accomplish the task.”
