I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 91: Chapter 11: The Violent Midfielder_2

”He might be saying what he always says: when I meet Real Madrid, I feel great.”

The white handkerchiefs appeared again at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, with the Merengue fans booing Schuster, booing the fans on the field, and some extreme fans even cursing loudly, thinking that none of the eleven players on the field deserved to wear that pure white.

”Damn it.” Schuster’s face was ashen on the sidelines. He looked at Francisco and said, ”Sometimes I really doubt if the TMD team I’m leading is Real Madrid. Why does every opponent we meet dare to initiate the attack?”

”They clearly entered the game faster than we did.”

”I think,” Francisco looked at Schuster and said, ”we need to stabilize the team’s footing first.”

Schuster swung his right hand vigorously, his golden hair a bit tousled by the wind. Listening to the boos around, his eyes flashed fiercely, ”Are you kidding me!”

”This TMD is the Bernabeu!”

”Do you want me to be sacked tomorrow?”

The players on the field quickly received Schuster’s instructions. Since Olympiacos wanted to fight back, then give them a fight!

”Real Madrid has kicked off.”

”They obviously haven’t fully entered the game yet.”

”The slow start weakness at the beginning of the season has reappeared in this match.”

”Olympiacos intercepted the ball in midfield,”

”Jorgjevic got the ball.”

Jorgjevic’s bald head glittered under the spotlight as Guti came charging from the side, trying to tackle this bald guy down, yet the tall Jorgjevic remained perfectly calm.

Maybe Guti’s reputation in the football world is significant, but in the Greek League, he is also a ”top figure.” This is his eleventh season with Olympiacos, during which he helped the team win at least ten Greek League championships.

One feint, one leap.

Just like an agile deer, he dodged Guti’s tackle, then pushed the ball forward, accelerating rapidly past Raul, who came back to defend.

Jorgjevic’s stellar play sparked wild cheers from the Olympiacos fans in the stands. Although this is the tail end of Jorgjevic’s career, with the team’s grand ambitions this season, why not take this chance to soar high?

I, Jorgjevic, also have the potential to become a top star and take the football world by storm.

As Jorgjevic was still daydreaming, a silhouette with black hair and yellow skin, wearing a No. 22 jersey, came charging from the side. At the moment of collision, Jorgjevic felt as though he had struck a truck barreling at full speed.

”Chen!”

”It’s Chen Zhong!”

”He directly knocked Jorgjevic off balance from the side.”

”The referee made no gesture; it was a fair physical collision.”

”His timing and positioning were impeccable, as was his physique.”

”He seems to have grown bulkier compared to before, somewhat resembling Vieira.”

”This time he didn’t recklessly tackle.”

”Instead, he used his physical advantage to intercept the ball fairly, which is a good thing.”

”He’s matured!”

After intercepting the ball, Chen Zhong quickly passed it to Guti. At that moment, the retreating Galletti unhesitatingly took Guti down. Instantly, the entire stadium was drowned in boos.

But Galletti was unfazed, even clapping vigorously with his hands over his head.

”Watch your behavior!” The chief referee sternly warned Galletti standing beside him, ”If you continue like this, I’ll give you a yellow card.”

In front of the chief referee, Galletti seemed obedient and compliant, yet once turned around, he was winking with a defiant appearance.

This act from the former Atletico Madrid winger thoroughly enraged the Merengues, enveloping the entire Bernabeu in piercing boos.

”Luciano Galletti.”

”It’s beyond my understanding why he didn’t get carded for his taunting gesture towards the fans.”

”Guti’s performance this season has been outstanding, and many teams resort to hacking tactics when facing him.”

”Ensuring he won’t stand on the field!”

”Interception in midfield by Olympiacos.”

”A long pass, reaching a distant teammate!”

”Galletti.”

Once Olympiacos got the ball, a big kick sent it to the far side to Galletti. As the ball bounced on the ground, Galletti had already gauged his teammate’s position. Just when he was adjusting his body, prepping for a lob pass.

A white silhouette, like a speeding train, rushed in from the side. With a ”whoosh,” he felt himself lose balance entirely and fell heavily to the ground facing the sky.

For a brief moment, the entire Bernabeu fell silent, yet only for a moment, as thunderous applause immediately consumed the whole stadium. Some Merengue fans in the stands, their faces flushed, let out not-so-elegant roars.

The Olympiacos fans, like a lone boat amidst a storm, struggled to raise their boos. However, at the Bernabeu, their little boos couldn’t even make the slightest splash.

”Good! Well done, kid!” Schuster initially felt a bit aggrieved inside, but upon seeing this moment, he felt assured. Real Madrid currently lacked a player like this: ”Hmm? Hmm?”

After getting up off the ground, Chen Zhong didn’t hesitate for a second, striding forward immediately to chase the rolling ball.

The referee hadn’t blown the whistle, the match continued, and he pounded the turf with his long legs, vigorously chasing what seemed destined to roll out.

Just before it crossed the boundary, with a slide tackle, he kept it in play.

”I just praised him for learning to handle the ball calmly now.”

”Yet here he goes again.”

”Is he really chasing that ball?”

”Oh! He actually caught it.”

”Real Madrid’s counterattack opportunity!”

After taking control, Chen Zhong didn’t opt for a long pass but instead called out loudly for Marcelo’s name, passing it to him. With the ball in possession, Marcelo dashed down the flank, and Chen Zhong, too, pressed forward.

Olympiacos found itself momentarily caught off guard, its defensive line visibly slackened. Marcelo charged forward, cutting through blocks and dodging two Olympiacos players to penetrate their penalty box.

This action was fully in an adrenaline-fueled fashion.

However, as the Olympiacos players zeroed in on Marcelo, he flicked the ball to the side.

Van Nistelrooy’s face lit up with delight, but just as he wanted to net the ball, he realized it was out of his reach, a tad too fast!

While he felt slight dissatisfaction, thinking Marcelo had overcooked the pass, a ”boom” suddenly sounded beside him.

The ball rocketed into the half-open goal like a missile.

Between Van Nistelrooy and Raul, Chen Zhong charged into the penalty box like a roaring tank, imperiously unstoppable, and Marcelo’s pass was perfectly placed before Chen Zhong.

Unless Chen Zhong intentionally cleared it, even if when Chen Zhong’s grandmother, leaning on a cane, came, she could have scored it.

Hmm?

Was my pass too strong?

Sorry, I never intended to pass it to you.

Van Nistelrooy suddenly figured out what was happening, his face turning unpleasant, while Raul first gave Chen Zhong a ”nostalgic” look and then cast a helpless glance at Marcelo.

”Beep!”

As the referee blew his whistle, pointing to the center circle.

The entire Santiago Bernabeu Stadium erupted instantly, with some fans unable to resist chanting ”Chen.” His decisive interception, relentless running, and resolute shot captured most of the Merengues’ attention, having left a lasting impression of this young talent from their academy.

After witnessing Chen Zhong’s goal, Marcelo was the first to dash toward him, attempting to knock Chen Zhong off balance, yet it was he who almost stumbled, as though hitting a wall.

If not for Chen Zhong lifting Marcelo with one hand, pulling him firmly, this assisting hero might have had a face plant.

”No celebration!” Chen Zhong replied to Marcelo as he jogged with his long strides, collecting the ball from the net, running toward the center circle, showing his intentions with actions.

Drawing level isn’t cause for celebration; we want victory!
