I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 70: Chapter 40: Interview

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

The fans’ eyes were all focused on Werder Bremen’s penalty area.

Shaf was pacing nervously on the sidelines, feeling extremely insecure, always thinking the team would concede a goal.

Sneijder took the corner kick, the ball described an arc, heading towards the far post, Van Nistelrooy leapt high, swung his head forcefully, and the ball pounded towards the goalfront.

Amidst interference from the opposing players, Van Nistelrooy’s header was clearly off-target, Higuain tilted his head back watching the ball skim over his head.

Just when everyone thought this attack was over, Chen Zhong opened his arms, holding off Sanogo behind him, allowing him to push and shove.

Then he leaned his upper body forward and swiveled his head with force towards the direction of the post.

”Bang”

The ball bounced on the ground, leaping over the outstretched leg of the defender, then jumped into the goal.

The stadium ”fell silent for a second” at that moment, a moment later, cheers erupted volcano-like, filling the entire stadium, Real Madrid fans in the stands all stood, raising their arms in jubilation.

In the midst of the cheering, Chen Zhong first looked to the referee, and only after the referee blew the whistle did he happily run towards Van Nistelrooy.

”Thank you, thank you for your assist.” Chen Zhong gave Van Nistelrooy a big hug, then turned to dodge the incoming Marcelo. Marcelo lunged, only landing on the grass, and in anger, he grabbed a handful of grass, chasing after Chen Zhong, intending to add some green to his head.

”Match 67th minute.”

”A relay of headers took place in Werder Bremen’s penalty area.”

”Chen Zhong received Van Nistelrooy’s header.”

”Broke through Werder Bremen’s goal.”

”3:0”

”Real Madrid sealed the victory.”

”At the same time, Chen Zhong also created a historic moment.”

”He became the first player from our country to score in the Champions League.”

”Before this, everyone thought it would likely be Manchester United Director who would accomplish this feat.”

”However, Chen Zhong was the first to achieve it.”

”At the same time, Chen Zhong also set the record for the youngest scorer in the Champions League.”

”This record might not be broken for quite a long time.”

After conceding this goal, Werder Bremen completely lost their fighting spirit, they began to focus on defense, their primary goal was to avoid conceding further, the secondary goal was to see if they could score on the counterattack.

However, until the end of the match, they were unable to breach Real Madrid’s goal.

”Full-time!”

”Schuster’s first Champions League match in charge, ended with a 3:0 scoreline.”

”The players who sparked Real Madrid’s offensive climax in this match were undoubtedly Raul, Higuain, Marcelo, and Chen Zhong.”

”Raul’s tireless running disrupted Werder Bremen’s defense.”

”Higuain’s left and right maneuvers exposed gaps in Werder Bremen’s defense.”

”Marcelo’s bravery on the ball, breakthroughs and passing on the flank, distracted Werder Bremen’s attention.”

”Lastly, Chen Zhong, his ironclad defense thwarted Werder Bremen’s arrogance, his headers in the penalty area, and long passes from the back, made Real Madrid’s counterattacks even sharper.”

Chen Zhong thanked the audience with his teammates on the field. In this match, Chen Zhong was again named the MVP, contributing to all three goals: the first goal was initiated by a tackle he made, allowing the ball to roll to Marcelo’s feet; the second goal was assisted by a header during a corner that led to Van Nistelrooy’s goal; the third goal was directly scored by him utilizing a corner opportunity.

Given his exceptional defensive stats, who else but Chen Zhong could be the MVP?

Holding the MVP trophy, Chen Zhong presented himself gracefully in front of reporters, showing no sign of stage fright, leaving a good impression on many fans seeing him for the first time.

Not far away, Marcelo, Higuain, Ramos, Cannavaro, and other Real Madrid players were whispering among themselves, while the crowd in the stands burst out in cheers again and again, some even shouting Chen Zhong’s name. In this atmosphere, the interviewing reporter smiled and asked, ”Your first Champions League match, and you performed like this, you must be feeling great right now!”

”Yes.” Chen Zhong smiled confidently and said, ”Scoring and assisting at the Bernabeu, helping the team win, it feels amazing.”

”Three days ago, Dos Santos and Bojan made their La Liga debuts, and in the early morning at Camp Nou, they together completed their Champions League debuts.”

”Dos Santos contributed to two attacks that helped secure victory for the team, while Bojan changed the course of the Champions League history.”

”Of course!” The reporter paused and looked at Chen Zhong with a smile, ”They changed history, only to be soon surpassed by you.”

”What I want to ask is, facing Barcelona’s two genius players, when one day you meet, do you feel confident in defending against Dos Santos, or Bojan?”

”Sorry.” Chen Zhong slightly lifted his chin at the reporter and said, ”The opponents I need to focus on should be Messi, or Ronaldinho, not them.”

”Oh~” The reporter looked up at Chen Zhong, eyes full of wonder, ”It seems you are very confident, do I need to remind you how outstanding their performances are at this age?”

”Then let me remind you.”

”I am the best player in Castilla.”

”Moreover, there have been reports that I once marked Bojan out of the game in a match?”

”Oh~” The reporter looked up at Chen Zhong, the initial disdain due to his skin color completely dissipated, he looked at the confident young man and said, ”You’re quite different from the Asians I know, keeping this character, I believe you will succeed.”

”Hahaha.”

”Mr. Reporter, even if you think I won’t succeed, I will succeed.”
