I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 78: Chapter 3: Girlfriend

Schuster stood on the sidelines, his face extremely grim. Shortly after the game started, he received a series of messages, including Calderon being detained at the airport, the club receiving a warning, or even threats.

”Who do you say was involved in this?” Schuster’s voice was as deep as an erupting volcano, making Francisco unable to resist moving his steps, to avoid being slapped by Schuster later: ”How dare they do this?”

After this match, the team will head to Italy for the second game of the Champions League group stage, facing Lazio.

Van Nistelrooy, Higuain, and Ramos didn’t even make the list to conserve their energy, instead, they boarded an early flight to Italy, and Guti was sitting on the bench resting.

Additionally, just yesterday morning, Calderon’s ”Anti-Ronaldinho Clause” was announced, urging players to discipline themselves and manage their leisure activities well, avoiding activities harmful to their bodies or exhausting night life.

As a result, at this moment, Schuster received a message from the club staff stating that someone had warned the club officials via email, saying she had some photos of ”Real Madrid’s first-team foreign players with some ’ladies of the night’.”

The email didn’t directly send the photos, but it mentioned ”all were drunk,” ”very wild,” ”excellent,” and even hinted at the idea of releasing these photos to the media.

At first, Schuster thought it was just someone’s prank or something else, but the club had investigated from two directions, proving the authenticity.

On one hand, they contacted the email sender, a lady involved who confirmed the content’s authenticity. Meanwhile, the club conducted an internal investigation in the locker room, using methods like checking surveillance.

After confirming these matters, Sports Director Mijatovic sent Schuster this message. Mijatovic and Schuster didn’t really get along well. Schuster had just finally enjoyed some success, only to encounter such an issue now.

Getafe’s coach was former Real Madrid player Michel Laudrup, a man in a formal suit with a tough-guy style, looking quite surprised at the situation on the pitch.

Getafe was unexpectedly in the favorable position during this period.

”Σ(⊙▽⊙), did I see it wrong?” Laudrup asked the assistant coach beside him: ”Why do I feel like some of Real Madrid’s players don’t have strength in their legs? Don’t their cafeterias serve them food?”

At the 2nd minute of the game, Getafe almost scored a beautiful volley from a cross by Manu on the flank, and at the 5th minute, they used a through ball to tear apart Real Madrid’s defense, as if Drenthe standing in front of Manu didn’t exist.

And Casillas apparently did not anticipate Drenthe letting Manu’s pass through so easily, having no reaction at all.

If not for Chen Zhong’s timely appearance to clear the ball before Uche at the far post, Uche would undoubtedly have easily scored facing an open goal.

”At the start of the match, Getafe took the initiative.”

”Real Madrid, on the contrary, is on the defensive.”

”Drenthe’s blunder makes him look like a Getafe player.”

”Luckily there’s Chen.”

”He had already foreseen the danger.”

”Cleared the ball before Manu.”

When Laudrup saw that Manu’s pass went through Drenthe and Casillas, he almost jumped up, but Chen Zhong’s intervention shattered his dream.

The accompanying Merengue fans in the stands applauded Chen Zhong’s timely clearance, while Getafe fans couldn’t help but hiss persistently, trying to put some pressure on Chen Zhong.

”Robinho, Drenthe.” Schuster mumbled the names of the two: ”They surely took part in it, those damned bastards, why can’t they control their things downstairs, do they know they are professional players?”

”Should we just substitute the two of them?” Francisco’s face also didn’t look good. If Real Madrid wins this match, they could maintain their position at the top. If they lose, they might be overtaken by Barcelona due to goal difference: ”We could sub in Guti for Robinho, and replace Drenthe with Baptista.”

”How long has it been?” Schuster pointed at the time on the electronic board, not even 10 minutes had passed: ”Besides, we’re about to go to Italy to face Lazio in the Champions League group stage, do you really think we’re sure to qualify?”

Francisco wanted to refute, but Real Madrid is no longer the Galaxy Battleship of the past; they are in a rebuilding phase now. Although they started strongly, there are just too many examples of good starts petering out midway and ending poorly.

”Now we can only rely on the team’s defense.”

”Do you know what else we need to win, apart from the team’s defense?”

”Luck, it’s the damn luck.” Schuster paced back and forth on the sidelines, his blonde hair fluttering in the wind. If his eyes could shoot lasers, he would love to target one at Robinho and Drenthe each.

Laudrup noticed Real Madrid’s issues and decisively instructed his team to play more aggressively, and Getafe quickly reaped dividends on their proactive pressing on the field.

Robinho loses possession every time he touches the ball, Drenthe gets bypassed every time on defense; you can’t count on them at all.

Getafe seemed to have also spotted the hollowness between them, targeting Drenthe’s side in attack, and deliberately giving Robinho space in defense.

The performance of the Getafe players also thrilled the fans in the stands, with the entire Alfonso Perez Stadium resonating with their cheers and support.

”Minute 17 of the match.”

”Real Madrid completed their first shot of the game.”

”A lob shot from Raul outside the penalty area.”

”This shot didn’t challenge the goalkeeper at all.”

”The goalkeeper easily collected the ball.”

”Can you believe Getafe has already had six shots by now?”

”And Real Madrid only completed their first shot of the match at this moment?”

”If it weren’t for Casillas, if it weren’t for Chen Zhong, if it weren’t for the team’s defense, who knows how many goals they would have conceded by now.”

Getafe completely dominated, but the 23rd minute finally brought a turning point.

It was during a forceful breakthrough by Manu, who broke past Drenthe and tried to speed up into Real Madrid’s penalty area. At this moment, Chen Zhong, like an out-of-control truck, charged towards the stumbling Manu from the side.

At the moment of collision, Manu completely lost his balance, flipping 360 degrees before getting up.

He immediately tried to snatch the ball from Chen Zhong’s feet from the side, but Chen Zhong was not the type to accommodate easily. After confirming Manu made the first move, he struck forcefully, using the coordinated power of his waist and legs to knock Manu away.

Sneijder raised his hand high from afar, and Chen Zhong passed the ball, initiating a quick counter-attack by Real Madrid.

”This is a fast counter-attack from Real Madrid.”

”Chen Zhong, this guy is truly ferocious!”

”Sneijder is quickly breaking through on the left.”

”Raul in the middle raises his right hand high.”

”A chipped pass to the center.”

”Delivered to Raul.”

”Shot!!!!”

With defensive players entangling Raul, he turned his body and completed a beautiful rotating shot the moment the ball came down.

The ball resembled a mischievous little frog, attempting to leap into the goal.

However, Getafe’s goalkeeper was well-positioned, effortlessly cradling the ball, and this shot was also Real Madrid’s only truly threatening shot in the first half.

The following scenes were all about Getafe’s attack and Real Madrid’s defense.

”Beep~”

As the whistle for the end of the first half blew, Getafe’s players seemed somewhat unsatisfied, while Real Madrid’s players felt like they were granted a reprieve.

Barcelona fans, watching the game, were all smiles, spreading the word that the best result for Real Madrid in this match would be a draw, which would likely secure Barcelona’s position at the top of the table.

”Chen.” Marcelo walked over to Chen Zhong, asking with some concern, ”Are you alright?”

Chen Zhong looked at Marcelo, initially feeling touched, but Marcelo’s next words made him wish he could slap him.

”I noticed you’ve done quite a few sliding tackles in this match.”

”You’ve even left marks on the grass in our defensive area. Are you really okay?”

”(ノ｀Д)ノ Get lost!” Chen Zhong gave Marcelo a push, then glanced at Robinho and Drenthe and frowned, asking, ”What’s up with those two, acting like fake professional players in this game?”

”Hey.” Marcelo chuckled, looked around, then leaned in to whisper, ”Initially, I didn’t know what was going on either. This morning, the club came to ask me some things. I suspect they went out for fun last night.”

”They’re really bold. Not to mention what happened with Ronaldinho in Barcelona. Last season, someone even took photos or something.”

The two whispered as they walked into the locker room, and Chen Zhong felt a vague unease, feeling as though everything was a prelude to an impending storm, making it hard to breathe.
