All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Onlookers Watch as Lovesick Brother Courts Disaster (20)

”Today I took Yanyan to school, she took a car to the company, and I took a cab here.” Speaking of this, Gu Jingkui felt very helpless; Yanyan was still angry.

But there was nothing he could do, he had to come over.

Lan Yazhen pointed to the road, directing the driver to Xiaang Zheng’s house. Half an hour later, the two appeared in an old, rundown neighborhood. Xiaang Zheng lived on the sixth floor, without an elevator, so they had to climb up the narrow, dark stairs.

It was Gu Jingkui’s first time walking in such a place, while Lan Yazhen seemed familiar, probably having been there often, which made him a bit uncomfortable. But this was the girl he liked; he couldn’t blame her. She had never shown any affection for him; he did all this voluntarily.

Not yet at the sixth floor, they heard noises from above. Lan Yazhen’s face turned pale, and she started running faster. Gu Jingkui hurriedly followed.

Xiaang Zheng’s house door was open, and the sounds of smashing and hitting came from inside. Perhaps because Gu Jingkui was there, Lan Yazhen gathered courage, hurried inside with her bag, and Gu Jingkui didn’t have time to stop her.

The things inside the room were all smashed; a woman in her late thirties, nearing forty, sat in a wheelchair, her somewhat aged face full of worry and helplessness. This was Xiaang Zheng’s mother, Chen Yun.

Due to her leg problems, despite her anger, she could only watch as these punks trashed the place. You could tell from her trembling lips that she was furious.

”Aunt Chen, how are you?” Lan Yazhen hurried over and shouted at the punks, ”Who are you, wrecking someone’s home like this? This is a private residence, do you know you’re breaking the law?”

”Yazhen, why did you come?” Chen Yun held Lan Yazhen’s hand, ”I don’t know why these people barged in and started smashing things. Xiaang isn’t here; they said Xiaang owes them money. The things at home aren’t worth much, so they just smashed them.”

”Xiaang Zheng didn’t go to school; Aunt, do you know where he is?”

Chen Yun’s eyes flickered, then she shook her head, ”I don’t know.”

She thought Lan Yazhen was a bit foolish; couldn’t she see these people were looking for trouble with Xiaang Zheng? At this moment, how could she reveal Xiaang Zheng’s whereabouts? Hearing that Xiaang Zheng wasn’t at school, she actually felt relieved.

Lan Yazhen didn’t notice and shouted at the punks, ”I warn you to leave here immediately, or I’ll call the police!”

”Little girl, who are you to Xiaang Zheng? Why are you meddling here? Oh, I get it, you’re Xiaang Zheng’s girl. If you weren’t, you wouldn’t be so worried about him?”

”Boys, Xiaang Zheng’s girl is here. Can’t touch a cripple, but if we take Xiaang Zheng’s girl, that kid will pay up for sure.”

The punks stopped smashing things and started walking towards Lan Yazhen, their smiles menacing, scaring her pale, and she instinctively called out, ”Brother Gu.”

Gu Jingkui couldn’t stand seeing Lan Yazhen bullied, so he stepped in front of the punks, his face dark as he said, ”If you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave immediately, she’s not someone you can mess with.”

”Kid, step aside.”

Of course, Gu Jingkui didn’t move. Not only did he not move, but he also made a move himself.

Lan Yazhen didn’t expect Gu Jingkui to fight the punks, even less did she expect that after landing the first punch on one of them, he took the rest of the beating. The punks used tables, chairs, and anything movable to hit Gu Jingkui.

”Beat him hard, break this kid’s legs, how dare he meddle in our business.”

Lan Yazhen was terrified. She wanted to help but was too scared to move by one of the punks’ looks. The grunts from Gu Jingkui came to her ears, and she couldn’t help but cry.
