Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1242: Chapter 1242: Slap in the Face

Huo Yu and his team started to act.

Since the cinemas have been decided, it’s time to get resources.

The first step is to communicate with the internal staff at the cinemas.

In their line of work, they have informants in major cinemas and film companies.

After all, without these informants’ help, how could it be possible that sometimes, even before a movie is released, they already have the resources?!

Pirate Dog: ”Hey, Old Wu! It’s me!”

Old Wu: ”Got something? Are you after that movie again? Just tell me, I’ll handle it for you.”

Pirate Dog: ”Always so reasonable, Old Wu. As usual, payment first, then goods. I’ve already transferred the money to you!”

There was a moment of silence on the phone, checking the balance on the card.

After confirming it, the atmosphere turned lively again.

Old Wu laughed hypocritically: ”Hahaha, you see, you’re always so polite. I’ve said it before, paying first or after is all the same!”

Pirate Dog rolled his eyes, thinking you surely care, since you double-checked before talking to me. But all the same, there’s nothing more to say: ”Rules are rules!”

Old Wu: ”Which movie is it exactly?”

Pirate Dog: ”It’s that ’Dry Blood’, find a way.”

Old Wu’s voice suddenly vanished.

Pirate Dog was stunned: ”What’s wrong? Old Wu?”

Old Wu: ”I’m sending the money back to you. If you’re still reasonable, don’t drag me into it when something happens! On behalf of my newborn daughter, thank you!”

Pirate Dog was suddenly anxious: ”Wait! Wait! Don’t hang up! Is this necessary?! It’s just a movie! Don’t forget, the money for your daughter’s imported milk formula came from this! Saying you won’t do it now?”

Hearing this, Old Wu didn’t hang up immediately, then sighed: ”I advise you all not to mess around with Lu Xiaobu! When he goes crazy, no one can stop him!”

Pirate Dog dismissively said: ”Just Lu Xiaobu, so what?”

Old Wu: ”I’ve said my piece. That’s it! If you really drag me out, then I can only accept my fate!”

After that, the call was disconnected.

Pirate Dog furiously smashed his phone: ”Damn it! This Old Wu, a traitor!”

The second Pirate Dog chuckled: ”Alright, nothing to be mad about. After all, not everyone’s got such guts! Contact someone else then! A hundred cinemas! Even if we set aside those in Shimen, there are still ninety left, there must be some brave ones!”

Resources, once you have one, that’s enough. Since Old Wu doesn’t want to make this money, there are plenty willing!

However!

The second one

”Hey! Old Zhang! Get ’Dry Blood’!”

Phone: ”Beep beep beep!”

...

The third one!

”Old Li! We’ve been brothers for so many years, I’ll make you rich! As long as we get Lu Xiaobu’s movie...”

Phone: ”Beep beep beep!”

...

The fourth one!

”Lu Xiaobu’s...”

Phone: ”Beep beep beep!”

...

Pirate Dogs called all day, only to be shocked to find that those informants who previously cooperated well this time unanimously chose to ignore them!

The Pirate Dogs went crazy!

”Damn it! All traitors! Taking money, they were all buddy-buddy, now with Lu Xiaobu, they’re all scared?!”

”To hell with it! What’s there to be afraid of?! Can Lu Xiaobu kill them?!”

”Seriously! A bunch of cowards!”

”...”

Pirate Dogs cursed while continuing to make calls.

Finally, after increasing their offers repeatedly, a guy drowning in debt, nearly having to pawn off his wife, agreed to take a risk with them.

”Finally got one.” Huo Yu felt a headache: ”Really underestimated Lu Xiaobu’s deterrence!”

”Never thought even outside Shimen City, informants in other cities are so afraid of Lu Xiaobu!”

”A bunch of useless cowards!”

So, he thought: ”We can’t put all our eggs in this basket, everyone get ready to snag tickets! Use both approaches!”

”Yes!”

”Understood!”

Pirate Dogs nodded in agreement.

Finally!

The highly anticipated first round of ticket sales for ’Dry Blood’ began.

Ten cities, a hundred cinemas, over five hundred thousand tickets were about to go on sale.

Huo Yu and his team opened Alipay, set everything up in advance, and started getting ready to grab tickets.

At this moment, they felt quite relaxed.

”Boss, how many tickets do you think we can snag?” Pirate Dog asked with a smile.

”At least a dozen! With so many of us!” Huo Yu said confidently.

”That’s too few! I think each of us will get at least one, maybe even several!” Pirate Dog laughed: ”It’s just a documentary, how many people will watch it? Even if it’s free, who’s going to take time off work?”

”That’s true! Alright, it’s about to start! No more joking, get ready!” Huo Yu nodded.

They weren’t just individually grabbing, they had customized software on more than a dozen computers.

So, they were quite confident!

The countdown began.

Three, two, one!

The time arrived!

In an instant, they all acted simultaneously!

However!

”Damn it! Damn you!”

Huo Yu and his Pirate Dogs all cursed!

They were almost poking holes in the phone screens, but what popped up was a prompt: ”Sorry, your location is detected outside the viewing city, you don’t qualify to grab tickets.”

Huo Yu stomped in anger: ”Lu Xiaobu, damn you! Need location, why didn’t you say earlier! Damn it! Already started grabbing tickets, now you’re prompting?!”

Angry as he was, things still needed to be done: ”Book tickets, go to the screening cities to grab! Must be fast! Surely others are eyeing it too!”

But.

”Hey, boss, I don’t think it’s necessary to rush.” One Pirate Dog said with a wry smile.

”What do you mean don’t rush?! You fool? Don’t you know in our business, whoever gets it first makes money, late arrivals can only have the leftovers!”

”I’m booking a flight, maybe can still make it!” Huo Yu hurriedly shouted.

”No, I mean, the tickets are gone.” Pirate Dog pulled out his phone with repeated bitter smiles.

”Nonsense! A hundred cinemas, five hundred thousand tickets! Just a few seconds? Gone? You think it’s like New Year’s train tickets?” Huo Yu rolled his eyes: ”Hurry, get me the flight tickets!”

”Really gone!” Pirate Dog repeatedly smiled bitterly, showing his phone to Huo Yu.

Remembering their previous confidence, he suddenly felt embarrassed!

Like everyone having a ticket!

This slap on their faces! Echoed loudly!

”What?! Really gone!” Huo Yu glanced at the phone and froze on the spot!

Half a million tickets!

And a documentary no one’s interested in!

Plus, must be located in the viewing cities to buy!

And now! Gone?!

What the hell is this?!
