Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1241: Chapter 1241: Bastard Dogs

The storm on the internet is just a minor episode, no need for grand dramatics.

As time passes, the list of the first batch of cities where the film will be shown has been released.

Of course, according to Lu Xiaobu’s usual practices, he will definitely start with Shimen as the center and expand outward.

To be honest, this time is really not a small project.

There are a total of six hundred and sixty-one cities in the Heavenly Dynasty.

Ten cities at a time, each screening lasts three days.

Calculating it like this, it would take more than half a year to finish screening.

And this is not even accounting for travel or preparation time.

If everything is accounted for, basically it would take a year!

And the financial costs have also been calculated.

Due to the grand scale this time, each viewer on average will need at least eighty yuan!

That means, if each person watches it once, assuming ten billion people watch, it will cost eight hundred billion!

And how much is Lu Xiaobu’s total fortune?

Over thirteen hundred billion!

That means a single movie might nearly drain the Lu Group!

This is really the biggest reckless act in Lu Xiaobu’s history!

Of course, now we are calculating it like this, which doesn’t mean that once the movie is screened, it will truly lead to bankruptcy.

As mentioned earlier, it requires a year, and during that year, the Lu Group isn’t just spending without any income!

...

The Lin Family.

”Young Master, the files and data are all here.” Housekeeper Jia placed a document on Lin Feng’s desk.

This contains all the data and information on Lu Xiaobu’s film screening.

”Eight hundred billion? Lu Xiaobu still goes big.” Lin Feng opened the document, smiled, and said.

”Young Master, should we take any action?” Housekeeper Jia asked.

Once Young Master Lu’s crazy plan starts, it won’t be easy to stop, and it will scatter human, material, and energy resources.

If Young Master Lin decides to act now, it’s almost like seizing Young Master Lu’s throat.

”No action.” Lin Feng waved his hand and said, ”Although this operation by Lu Xiaobu is pretty personal, those in power will definitely be watching closely; it’s not a good time to act. Besides, when have you ever seen me dabbling in major disputes?”

”I understand.” Housekeeper Jia nodded, indicating comprehension.

Young Master Lin is indeed like this; for things like killing and arson, he can act without batting an eye.

But once it involves major disputes, Young Master Lin absolutely won’t get involved, even if the situation develops unfavorably for him, Young Master Lin won’t act!

This is Young Master Lin’s pride!

...

Lin Feng does not act, but someone is preparing to!

A call came directly to Lu Xiaobu’s phone.

This was a garbled phone number, probably dialed through a network program.

”Hello, is this Young Master Lu?” a sleazy voice came through.

”Get to the point,” Lu Xiaobu said blandly.

”Calling you is only about discussing a business deal,” the voice carried a trace of smugness.

”What kind of business?” Lu Xiaobu casually asked.

”It’s very simple, Young Master Lu wants to prevent piracy, right? Easy, give me one billion, and I won’t take action against you. Isn’t it a great deal?” The smugness in the voice became more evident: ”Young Master Lu is so wealthy, it wouldn’t bother you to spare me this bit, right?”

”Oh, I’ll burn it for you later along with a paper doll, so you don’t feel lonely,” Lu Xiaobu scoffed.

”Young Master Lu, stop joking!” the voice grew angry: ”You should know this is a very worthwhile deal! If we take action, just based on you...”

”Don’t underestimate me, dare to extort Lu Xiaobu, you better prepare your coffin first,” Lu Xiaobu’s voice grew colder.

”You! You’ll regret...”

Before the other party finished speaking, Lu Xiaobu hung up the call.

Has the piracy industry become this rampant?

Calling him directly to threaten?!

Impressive!

...

Meanwhile!

Huicai Co., Ltd.

The name sounds decent, but it’s a complete garbage company.

Because their main business is—pirated films!

They have created a complete industry chain from upstream copying of film sources to downstream distribution.

Every link has a division of labor, including departments for acquiring videos, and technology, sales, and promotion.

The tech department is responsible for cracking all sorts of encryption methods by film companies, then re-encrypting and uploading to a web disk, compressing, or processing videos, like adding ads, etc.

The profits in this are basically a sure-win with no costs!

This time, they have evidently targeted Lu Xiaobu’s documentary!

Don’t ask why they’re not afraid of Lu Xiaobu; they’re already doing illegal business!

Here’s the department specializing in acquiring videos, euphemistically named—the Resource Department.

”The higher-ups have issued a mandate! This time, Lu Xiaobu’s documentary—’Dry Blood’ must be acquired!” Huo Yu, dressed in a suit looking quite decent, slammed a document on the table.

Honestly, given his gold-rimmed glasses and suited-up appearance, you’d never guess he’s involved in illegal business.

”Boss, really going to make a move? The opponent is Lu Xiaobu!” an employee hesitantly asked.

”Bah! Lu Xiaobu, so what?” Huo Yu sneered: ”We are professionals in this area.”

After saying that, seeing his subordinates still hesitating, he continued: ”The higher-ups said, this time is absolutely rare resources, once acquired, it’s sure profit with no cost, and everyone gets a ten thousand yuan bonus! And the one who acquires it, gets one million!”

Where there are big rewards, there will be brave ones!

Upon hearing these numbers, their eyes lit up!

Acquired and each person gets ten thousand?! And the one who acquires it gets one million?!

My heavens! The company is really generous this time!

”Well? Are we doing it or not?” Huo Yu chuckled and asked.

”We’re doing it! We must!”

”What’s Lu Xiaobu compared to this?! We are the professionals!”

”We’ll see how the boastful Lu Xiaobu reacts when he finds out there’s a high-definition resource online then!”

”Hahaha! One million! I’m coming!”

The whole bunch got excited.

In these scoundrels’ eyes, profit is everything, they don’t care how original creators will live or die!

They only know they can gain profits without labor!

Perhaps, only when their original creations are stolen...

Or when they find out their sons have no connection to them, being someone else’s own creation!

Only then might they understand what it means to feel heartache, to almost go mad with anger!

Of course, here we sincerely wish these piracy dogs a bright green on top of their heads!

”Alright, let’s discuss how to proceed.” Huo Yu raised his hand to quiet everyone down:

”Even though we’re not afraid of Lu Xiaobu, we shouldn’t be careless or arrogant! Lu Xiaobu still has some skills!”

These piracy dogs nodded seriously, and then started discussing fervently.

Anyone watching wouldn’t know, might think they’re concerned with national affairs!

It genuinely makes people feel disgusted!
