Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 749: Chapter 777 An Ominous Premonition [First Update]

He rested at home for a few days.

”Young Master Lu, Young Master Lu, it’s done.”

Guan Changsheng suddenly ran over excitedly, his face full of enthusiasm.

”What’s done?”

Lu Xiaobu was startled.

”The thing I made for you.”

Guan Changsheng said.

”Oh, right, what did you make?”

Lu Xiaobu remembered.

”I made you a chair!”

Guan Changsheng said happily.

”A chair?!”

Lu Xiaobu was startled.

He had asked the other party to just make something, and who would have thought he ended up making a chair.

Is it like he was really lacking chairs?!

His intention was to have Guan Changsheng create an art piece like a flower basket, which he could then use to gain some fame.

But what the hell is a chair supposed to do!?

However, let it be, it was his fault for not making it clear.

”Let’s go and take a look.”

Lu Xiaobu adjusted his emotions and said to Guan Changsheng.

”Please have a look, Young Master Lu.”

Guan Changsheng led Lu Xiaobu to the bamboo forest and pointed at the object on the ground.

”This... are you sure this is called a chair? And not a sedan chair?!”

Lu Xiaobu twitched the corner of his mouth as he looked at the chair on the ground.

Do you guys know what Guan Changsheng has made?! It’s one of those bamboo sedan chairs that appeared on TV.

There’s a chair in the middle, and there are two bamboo poles on each side, obviously meant for carrying.

”Er... It’s also called a sedan chair.”

Guan Changsheng scratched his head with an awkward smile.

He knew that Young Master Lu was quite lazy, who would lie down if possible rather than sitting, and would sit rather than stand if he could.

So, he prepared this chair... oh, sedan chair, to make Young Master Lu comfortable.

”What do you mean ’also called’? It’s clearly a sedan chair!”

Lu Xiaobu rolled his eyes and said.

However, despite his words, he still walked over.

To be honest, setting aside how well the thing was made, he liked the gift itself.

After all, he wouldn’t have to walk anymore, haha, awesome!

He walked over and sat down directly on it.

”Hey, this is comfy.”

Lu Xiaobu raised an eyebrow immediately as he sat down.

This sedan chair, with its perfect firmness and softness, required no effort to sit on, keeping the body in the most comfortable state constantly.

In current popular terms, this is called ergonomics.

Moreover, when sitting down, there’s a faint fragrance of bamboo that fills your nose, making one feel refreshed inside and out.

This chair is top-notch!

A look of utmost satisfaction appeared on Lu Xiaobu’s face.

Yes, he was very satisfied with this gift.

Seeing the satisfied smile on Lu Xiaobu’s face, Guan Changsheng also heaved a sigh of relief.

As long as Young Master Lu liked it.

To make this sedan chair, he endured the pain of chopping down several bamboo stalks from the forest, choosing the most suitable parts to weave it.

Moreover, he used his life’s ultimate skills to make it.

It could be said that this was the most perfect piece of bamboo craft he had ever made.

He even doubted whether he would be able to create such perfect works in the future.

”Come on, come on, let’s take a stroll outside.”

Lu Xiaobu sat in his chair and chuckled.

Zhang Meng and Li Jin exchanged a smile, then lifted Lu Xiaobu from the front and the back.

Although they could easily find a couple of people to carry the Young Master, they weren’t quite at ease, so they preferred to do it themselves.

As Zhang Meng and Li Jin carried Lu Xiaobu along the streets of Shimen, passersby were initially surprised to see such a nearly extinct form of sedan, but when they realized it was Lu Xiaobu on it, they found it nothing out of the ordinary.

”This Young Master Bu really knows how to have fun.”

”Of course, just look at who Young Master Bu is!”

”He even got a bamboo sedan, wow!”

”Jealousy kills, I’m telling you!”

”Yeah, who wouldn’t be envious of Young Master Bu’s life? Breezy, comfortable, all play and occasionally upholding justice when he feels like it!”

”Ah, comparing oneself to others will only make one frustrated!”

”...”

After a lap around the streets, Lu Xiaobu grew even more satisfied with the bamboo sedan, feeling the comfort radiating inside out as he sat within.

As for those small-scale bamboo craft exhibitions meant to display fame and whatnot, he thought he could talk about that some other time.

However, Lu Xiaobu didn’t get to sit in the bamboo sedan for long.

Because the little girl had set her eyes on it!

The moment this little girl saw the bamboo sedan, her eyes lit up and she rushed straight for it.

Once she sat down, she absolutely refused to let go.

Even when it was time to eat, she insisted on sitting in it.

Watching this scene, Lu Xiaobu grumbled, ”I barely sat in it for half a day!”

”All right, you.” Lu Hongbin rolled his eyes, ”Being an older brother means you have to be like this, just like how you used to snatch my stuff when we were kids.”

”And mine too!”

Lu Wenhuo joined in the fun, ”Xiaobu was like a little bandit back then! Whatever he set his eyes on, he had to have it, or he would cry!”

”You have no right to speak,” Lu Hongbin shot a glance at Lu Wenhao, ”as if you weren’t a bandit when you were little. I remember you even tried to steal my socks!”

”Pfft! Hahaha!” Lu Xiaobu laughed heartily, ”Big brother, what did he want your socks for?!”

”What else? He’d put them on his hands, claiming he was part of the Black Hand gang and could practice the Five Poison Palm!” Lu Hongbin said with a laugh that he couldn’t suppress.

”Five Poison Palm?!” Lu Xiaobu was taken aback.

Black Hand gang he understood, but what’s with the Five Poison Palm!?

”My socks, they were unwashed!” Lu Hongbin laughed out loud, ”Can you believe how silly your second brother is?”

”Hahahahaha!”

Lu Xiaobu’s stomach hurt from laughing!

Damn! That’s what you call the Five Poison Palm!

Unwashed socks, that’s practically the Five Poison Palm!

”Cough cough cough!” Lu Wenhuo coughed to cover up the embarrassment, ”Big brother, we were talking about Xiaobu, why bring me up?!”

Great, another embarrassing story unearthed by big brother.

The day passed with fun and laughter.

”Young Master, I heard that there’s a bamboo craft exhibition happening in Magic City, want to check it out?”

Liang Lan asked Lu Xiaobu after he woke up.

”Um...” Lu Xiaobu thought for a moment, stroking his chin, ”Sure, let’s go have a look.”

Since he intended to explore the value of bamboo craftsmanship, it was necessary to learn more about the current market’s bamboo craft styles.

”Alright, Young Master, I’ll make the arrangements. Shall we bring little Yu Xi along?” Liang Lan asked again.

”Bring her, let’s take the girl out for some fun.”

Lu Xiaobu nodded; this time they were headed to Magic City, not deep in the forests, so safety wasn’t a concern, and it would be nice to take her along for fun.

”Okay, Young Master.”

Liang Lan nodded.

So it was settled. Not only did they take the little girl, but they also brought along the bamboo sedan that she had been yearning for.

And so, the Lu family set out!

Heading straight for the bamboo craft exhibition in Magic City.

Lu’s father stood at home, watching the back of Lu Xiaobu as he left, wiping the cup in his hand, ”Uh... why do I have a bad feeling about this?!”
