Chapter 338: Chapter 361: Declaration of War? [2nd Update]

Behold my Great Time Travel Technique!

Time Travel!

Well, actually, just back to before Su Luoxue answered the call from Wen Family Hall.

...

At an economic summit in Magic City.

The invited Wen Family Hall delivered the opening speech.

And after the speech.

Came the time for questions from the audience.

As a result.

The first question was this.

”Good day, Mr. Wen Family Hall, what is your opinion of Lu Xiaobu? Is he a wastrel or someone adept at creating miracles?”

Upon hearing this question,

everyone found it strange but also saw it as reasonable.

At the end of the day, the one who has climbed half the Third Level Rich List in five days is none other than Lu Xiaobu.

Although directing the first topic at the absent Lu Xiaobu demonstrated a lack of respect,

it was inevitable.

After all, it’s believed that no summit or forum discussion could currently ignore the name Lu Xiaobu.

Hearing the reporter’s question, Wen Family Hall chuckled with no other expression on his face, saying elegantly, ”That is a good question, but, unfortunately, I’m afraid it is not convenient for me to answer, don’t you agree?”

His response was watertight.

Effectively dodging the query.

Indeed, as the first-ranked individual, if he were to praise the twentieth-ranked Lu Xiaobu, it would undoubtedly lead to criticism of humiliation.

Yet if he were to criticize or refute Lu Xiaobu, that would be even more embarrassing.

Thus, his reply was arguably the best possible.

However,

these reporters clearly did not intend to let him off the hook.

”So, Mr. Wen Family Hall, according to my information, up to this point, Lu Xiaobu has not attended any summit or forum, so could Mr. Wen Family Hall please give Lu Xiaobu a call? We truly wish to learn more about this matter.”

A reporter stood up, speaking measuredly.

At this point, Wen Family Hall, unwilling as he might be, had to make the call.

However, he felt a smoldering irritation within; these reporters were really overstepping.

But as much as he was annoyed, he still dialed Lu Xiaobu’s phone number.

Thinking of quickly providing the reporters with an answer, he found them too troublesome to deal with.

In terms of making a phone call, he never considered the possibility of failure.

After all, he was the top figure, calling the twentieth-ranked Lu Xiaobu, and failure was not an option!

The call connected,

and then occurred the conversation he had with Su Luoxue.

Everything went normally.

The journalists onsite also tried their best to capture every detail.

After all, Lu Xiaobu’s news was the most valuable at the moment; any statement could hit the headlines, and they just had to come up with such a low tactic.

Who told Lu Xiaobu not to attend any meetings or accept any interviews?

However,

”What’s Wen Family Hall? Who the heck is that?!”

Lu Xiaobu’s words crystal clear through the phone reached the ears of all reporters.

Instantly.

The entire conference room fell into silence.

Uh...

What now?

Lu Xiaobu doesn’t know Wen Family Hall?!

This is going to be interesting!

Many reporters began drafting headlines.

”Mix-Up or Deliberate?”

”The First Clash between Two Magnates.”

”Lu Xiaobu Doesn’t Recognize Wen Family Hall.”

”...”

Wen Family Hall’s complexion darkened immediately.

Lu Xiaobu, aren’t you going too far!

We’re all in the business circle, on the same list.

Even as the first-ranked, I know who you are, yet you don’t recognize me, who’s also ranked first.

What are you trying to do!?

However, before he could figure out a solution.

The phone emitted a sound again.

”Who are you?”

Lu Xiaobu’s words transmitted over.

That completely indifferent tone momentarily stunned the entire venue once more; this time it wasn’t silence, but deathly stillness that enveloped them.

The first time it could have been passed off as a misunderstanding, or perhaps a lack of immediate reaction.

But now, to say such words a second time was truly an outright display of ignorance!

Oh my God!

Has Lu Xiaobu gone mad?

As someone ranked 20th on the Third Level Rich List, you may not recognize others, but why on earth don’t you even recognize the first?!

This joke has really gone too far!

Reporters began changing their headlines.

”Lu Xiaobu Deems No One Worthy, Fails to Recognize Wen Family Hall”

”Is It Truly Unfamiliarity, or Is It Intentional?”

”The Grudges and Grievances between Wen Family Hall and Lu Xiaobu”

The corner of Wen Family Hall’s mouth twitched, barely able to suppress the raging fury within!

Lu Xiaobu, what the hell do you mean?!

Do you know where you are?!

You’re throwing shade at me in public?!

What on earth are you trying to do?

Well, he hadn’t even had the chance to figure out what Lu Xiaobu wanted to do.

The call was hung up!

”Dudu dudu dudu!”

The very familiar sound of a call ending came through.

As the saying goes, if not perishing in silence, then explode in silence.

So!

An explosion occurred on the spot!

”Holy shit! Forgive my swearing, but Lu Xiaobu has really gone off the rails!”

”Right?! Hanging up on Wen Family Hall’s call in public?!”

”Is Lu Xiaobu declaring war on Wen Family Hall?!”

”Remember what that thesis in Time Travel Technique said? It mentioned that for Lu Xiaobu, reaching first place was just a matter of time! Could it be that Lu Xiaobu has already set his sights on first place?!”

”Wen Family Hall has lost face big time this time!”

”Yeah! Looks like these two heavyweights have no choice but to clash now!”

”Now this is going to be interesting!”

”...”

Wen Family Hall, listening to the beeping on the phone, turned green with rage!

Who knows what it was that kept him from smashing his phone out of impulse!

Fine, you don’t recognize me, I can take it!

But what does hanging up on my call mean?!

Do you really want to fight to the death with me?!

Lu Xiaobu!!!

Have you really thought this through?!

You must know, at their position, not everyone can afford to let go of everything and do as they please like Lu Xiaobu.

They had too much at stake.

Many times, even if they were unwilling, public opinion would compel them to do certain things.

Moreover, he was now truly irritated with Lu Xiaobu.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Su Luoxue became frantic when she saw Lu Xiaobu hang up the phone on Wen Family Hall.

”Boss, that was Wen Family Hall on the phone, the first on the Third Level Rich List! Why did you just hang up on them?” Su Luoxue asked, pulling her hair.

”The first on the Third Level Rich List?” Lu Xiaobu scratched his head: ”Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

”I—” Su Luoxue was at a loss for words, how was I supposed to know that you didn’t know.

But she still lowered her head: ”My mistake, I was too excited just now.”

Indeed, she had made an error, at the very least, when she received the call, even if she wanted to pass it to Lu Xiaobu, she should have covered the mouthpiece and checked with Lu Xiaobu first, instead of directly handing him the phone.

In that regard, she was totally in the wrong!

That was Liang Lan’s absence speaking; if she had been present, Su Luoxue surely would have been scolded by her.

”By hanging up on him just now, did I kind of slap his face?” Lu Xiaobu thought for a moment and then redialed.

He didn’t care about other things, but he felt a tinge of guilt.

After all, the other side hadn’t cursed at him or confronted him; hanging up for no reason was indeed not right.
