Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Escape from the Imperial Capital

If I cannot have it, then I will destroy it!

This was Wang Tianqing’s mentality at that moment. Su Han was far too monstrously talented. If he were allowed to leave, he would pose a monumental threat to the Tianqing Dynasty. And since Su Han had refused his demands, he was now an enemy. Toward his enemies, Wang Tianqing was never merciful.

Wang Tianqing was a powerhouse in the Heavenly King Realm. The mere pressure he emitted was enough to make Su Han struggle to bear it, let alone a direct palm strike.

BOOM!

Su Han was sent flying, his body shooting backward and demolishing more than a dozen houses before he finally ground to a halt. In the ruins, he was sprawled on the ground, covered in blood. It felt as if every bone in his body had been shattered, leaving him completely unable to struggle to his feet.

Just then, Wang Tianqing flew in from a distance, looking down from on high like a deity surveying an ant.

”Su Han, considering we are father and son, I will give you one last chance. Submit, or die!”

With that last palm strike, Wang Tianqing had held back, leaving Su Han a sliver of a chance to live. If Su Han remained so unappreciative, however, he would truly be forced to kill his own kin for the sake of justice.

On the verge of death, Su Han looked up at the towering Wang Tianqing, but the look in his eyes did not waver in the slightest. Wang Tianqing could break his bones, but he could not break his pride.

What’s the use of acknowledging a heartless and unrighteous father?

”I refuse!” Su Han spoke again. His voice was not loud, but it was incomparably firm.

”Obstinate fool!”

Wang Tianqing snorted coldly and hesitated no longer. He lifted his right hand and struck down again with his palm. This time, he showed no mercy. With the full intent to kill, he was determined to completely erase the Su Han he could not possess.

RUMBLE!

However, at that very moment, the entire Imperial Capital trembled violently, as if an earth-shaking dragon had just turned over deep beneath the ground. This sudden, unexpected event caused Wang Tianqing’s expression to shift slightly in confusion.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Almost immediately, beams of azure light erupted from various parts of the Imperial Capital, shooting straight into the heavens in a striking display.

”This is... the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation!” Wang Tianqing’s pupils shrank as his heart pounded in his chest.

During the founding of the Tianqing Dynasty, a high-level Array Master had been commissioned to set up a City Protection Formation in the Imperial Capital, and this was it. The formation was a Low-grade Dao Formation of unparalleled power. It served as the capital’s strongest defense and was capable of withstanding an army of tens of thousands.

However, the item used to control this Dao Formation was the Imperial Jade Seal, which was resting quietly in his own Storage Ring. How could it possibly activate on its own?

Wang Tianqing’s brow furrowed tightly, his mind filled with doubt. He decided to kill Su Han quickly before investigating the disturbance. The Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation was vital to the safety of the Imperial Capital. If something went wrong, it could attract the attention of neighboring kingdoms, potentially plunging the entire Tianqing Dynasty into a massive crisis.

The giant azure-gold palm, like a small mountain, descended ferociously toward Su Han.

This time, however, it did not hit its mark. A beam of azure light materialized in front of Su Han, blocking Wang Tianqing’s lethal strike.

”Hmm?”

Wang Tianqing’s gaze sharpened as he looked down at the sudden appearance of the azure light. The light was almost solid, with countless Formation Patterns flowing across its surface. He was no stranger to this light; it was the power of the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation.

But why would it appear here, and more importantly, why would it protect Su Han?

Wang Tianqing’s heart sank. He stared intently at Su Han, realizing that this strange activation of the formation was very likely his son’s doing.

”Wang Tianqing, you can’t kill me!” At this moment, Su Han painfully pushed himself up from the ruins. He bared his teeth at Wang Tianqing in a grin, revealing a mouthful of blood-stained teeth. The sight made Wang Tianqing’s face darken, and he wished for nothing more than to slap this little brat to death.

”You have successfully enraged me!”

Gritting his teeth with uncontrollable fury, Wang Tianqing clenched his right fist. The azure-gold radiance around it burst forth, turning his fist into a cyan star that plummeted from the sky, aiming to crush Su Han. This punch shook the heavens and the earth, its terrifying power sweeping out to grind everything in Su Han’s vicinity into dust.

Yet, Su Han remained unfazed. The Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation had been his pre-arranged, life-saving measure all along.

Before even coming here, he had already visited various locations in the Imperial Capital and deciphered the key nodes of the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation. With his current strength, destroying the formation was impossible, but altering a few key nodes to grant himself temporary control was not too difficult given his Formation Mastery. This tactic had been planned from the very beginning as a safeguard against Wang Tianqing. After all, his father was so powerful that Su Han would be no match for him, even if he were ten times stronger.

CLANG!

The Formation Patterns shone brilliantly. The azure light converged, rapidly morphing into a colossal azure dragon’s claw that reached toward the sky, blocking Wang Tianqing’s fatal punch.

”Devouring Heaven Demonic Art!”

Seizing the opportunity, Su Han quickly took out the empress’s corpse and executed the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art, consuming and refining it. Soon, the corpse vanished, and new Demonic Qi surged within Su Han’s body.

”Formation, activate!”

With a fierce stomp, Su Han channeled every last wisp of the freshly gained Demonic Qi into his task. At the same time, his eyes blazed with light as he unleashed his spiritual power without reservation. He was now trying to activate the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation, but it was a Low-grade Dao Formation, more than ten times stronger than the Qin Family’s Storm Formation. Even with the inherited memories from the white-haired man, activating such an Array with his own power was an immense strain.

Blood trickled from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. His face was deathly pale, his steps were unsteady, and his entire body trembled uncontrollably. He had reached the absolute limit of collapse.

But he had succeeded. He had activated the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation.

ROAR!

A dragon’s cry shook heaven and earth.

Across the Imperial Capital, the azure light surged, swiftly converging to form a 10,000-meter-long phantom of an Azure Dragon. Its head, claws, scales, and tail were all vividly rendered, as if a true Azure Dragon had descended upon the world, its might shaking all creation. This was the strongest state of the Tianqing Azure Dragon Formation, capable of both offense and defense with boundless power.

”Go!”

Su Han gritted his teeth and, struggling mightily, directed the phantom. The Azure Dragon shot toward Wang Tianqing, its unstoppable momentum causing space itself to tremble as it passed.

This is bad!

Wang Tianqing’s expression changed dramatically. His body blazed with an azure light as brilliant as the sun, and a massive Physique materialized behind him as he tried with all his might to resist the phantom dragon.

A Low-grade Dao Formation was peerlessly powerful. Even though Su Han could only barely activate it, its might was not something Wang Tianqing could withstand.

The phantom Azure Dragon charged forward and slammed directly into him, sending him flying for thousands of meters. He crashed through countless buildings, and innumerable innocent citizens were caught in the shockwave, resulting in catastrophic death and injury.

At that moment, the utterly weakened and exhausted Su Han stuffed an Elixir into his mouth. Clenching his teeth, he forced himself to his feet and used the Character Technique of Motion, fleeing rapidly toward the city gates. The entire Imperial Capital was distracted by the chaos, leaving Su Han’s path completely unobstructed.

Eventually, Su Han successfully reached the city gates, burst through them, and escaped the Imperial Capital.

But as he departed, his voice rang out, sharp and clear.

”Wang Tianqing, as of today, the ties between us, father and son, are severed! For the grudge born today, I will one day return it to you a hundredfold!”
