Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Severing Ties of Gratitude and Duty

”Your Majesty, the Empress!”

Seeing the Empress heavily injured and on the ground, the many assembled princes and high officials cried out in alarm, their faces filled with concern.

No one had expected that the battle between Su Han and the Great Crown Prince would trigger an even greater conflict. Elder Kui and Yan Liu were both Physique Realm powerhouses, and their battle was terrifying. The Empress had suddenly intervened, only to be wounded by Tongyan. Now, a severe injury from Su Han’s blade had shifted the situation once again.

”Kill! Kill! Kill!” Su Han’s eyes were bloodshot. His Demonic Might raged, and his killing intent soared to an unprecedented height. He gripped the Black Blade and pursued the Empress, aiming to slay both of his nemeses—her and the Great Crown Prince—today.

COUGH! COUGH!

Pale and gravely injured, the Empress coughed up blood continuously. Tongyan’s Phenomenon was simply too terrifying. The Empress had no power to resist and was instantly struck a heavy blow, while Su Han’s blade left a deep gash on her back.

”Fire Cloud Whip!”

Seeing Su Han charge at her, the Empress’s eyes also filled with intense killing intent. She reached out and produced a long whip, red as fire. She lashed out, striking Su Han viciously and tearing his flesh open to the bone.

However, Su Han seemed not to care at all. Enduring the excruciating pain, he brought the Black Blade down again.

SLASH!

Another blade wound appeared on the Empress. Though grievously injured and in terrible condition, Su Han was determined to trade wound for wound to slay her.

”You little bastard, you’re courting death!” Wounded again and again, the Empress’s face twisted with fury. She let out a long howl and struck with all her might, sending Su Han flying. The blow was so forceful it nearly cleaved him in two at the waist. Even heavily injured, the Empress was far beyond what Su Han could handle in his current state.

HUM!

However, just as the Empress was about to pursue Su Han to eliminate the future threat, Tongyan’s Phenomenon pressed down on her again. Death Qi erupted from within her, causing her to spurt fresh blood as she grew grievously weak. Tongyan was simply too strong; the Empress couldn’t withstand her at all.

”Kill!”

At that moment, the severely wounded Su Han threw himself into the attack once more. He ignored his own injuries and safety, his blood-red eyes filled only with a murderous intent that had reached its absolute peak. Against their combined assault, the Empress’s injuries grew ever more severe. Lacking Su Han’s freakish healing ability, she was facing certain death if the battle dragged on.

”Heaven and Earth Slash!” Su Han bellowed, using what little Demonic Qi and Qi-Blood he had left to unleash the Heaven and Earth Slash once more. He aimed to completely slay the seriously injured Empress. Suppressed by the Life and Death Reincarnation Phenomenon, the Empress was immensely weakened and completely unable to block the strike.

”Enough!”

Just then, an angry shout rang out, shaking heaven and earth. A terrifying pressure swept across the land like a storm. Yan Liu and Elder Kui, locked in their fierce battle, both looked horrified. Then, as if struck by a heavy blow, they were sent flying. At the same time, Tongyan’s Life and Death Reincarnation Phenomenon could no longer be sustained and collapsed with a thunderous crash. As for Su Han, he was struck by a tremendous force that sent the Black Blade flying from his grasp. He crashed to the ground, gravely injured and at death’s door.

A majestic, supremely domineering figure appeared before the Empress. It was none other than Wang Tianqing. Yan Liu of the Seven Stars Sect was strong, and Tongyan from the Myriad Treasures Pavilion possessed astonishing innate talent, but this was the Tianqing Dynasty. Here, there was only one true sovereign: Wang Tianqing. With his Heavenly King Realm strength, he was more than capable of suppressing everything.

”Your Majesty, Su Han destroyed Tian’er’s Physical Body and nearly killed me! You must seek justice for me!” Seeing Wang Tianqing, the Empress immediately began to wail her grievances.

Everyone stopped, all eyes converging on Wang Tianqing. His will would determine the battle’s final outcome. Wang Tianqing’s face was livid. He had never anticipated events developing to this point. He had already decided to abandon Su Han and witness the rise of the Great Crown Prince, yet he never imagined the Great Crown Prince would be killed by Su Han instead. The Great Crown Prince possessed extraordinary innate talent and carried the King’s high hopes. He had even bestowed upon him the Soul Jade, an inherited treasure, as a life-saving measure. Now that the Great Crown Prince was dead, his heart was heavy, which was why he had not stopped Yan Liu from acting earlier.

But he had never anticipated the Myriad Treasures Pavilion’s intervention, which had twisted the battle into its current state.

”This is the Tianqing Dynasty, not your Myriad Treasures Pavilion,” Wang Tianqing said, looking coldly at Tongyan, his threat unmistakable. ”The Tianqing Dynasty may be weak, but we are not to be trifled with by just anyone.”

Then he turned to Su Han, his eyes devoid of fatherly affection, containing only cold indifference. ”Su Han, I know you harbor resentment, but you never should have destroyed Tian’er’s Physical Body. Even if he can reconstruct his Physical Body and live, he has lost the Dragon Phoenix Saint Body and his prime years for cultivation. This is an unacceptable loss for the Tianqing Dynasty.”

”You have made a mistake, and you must be punished. In consideration of our father-son relationship, I can spare your life. But from this day forward, your Dantian will be crippled, and you will be imprisoned in the Sky Prison!”

Su Han laughed, a desolate sound. He never expected his own father to say such things. ’The Imperial Family is truly the most heartless.’ That saying is absolutely true. My suffering and humiliation mean nothing to him. In his eyes, there is only profit. The Great Crown Prince had the Dragon Phoenix Saint Body, superior innate talent, and greater potential, so I was the one abandoned. Father-son affection? Heh! His heart turned to ice, the last thread of kinship severing completely.

Wang Tianqing paid no attention to Su Han’s emotions. He reached out, preparing to cripple his Dantian and end this battle once and for all.

HUM!

Just then, a mighty pressure like the wrath of heaven itself emerged. Everyone’s faces changed dramatically, overwhelmed with fear and anxiety.

This was the Aura of a Supreme! Above the Heavenly King Realm was the Supreme Realm, representing absolute power. In her hand, Tongyan held a golden Token from which the formidable Supreme Aura emanated.

”Supreme Command!”

Seeing the golden Token, Wang Tianqing’s pupils shrank in terror. This was a special token forged by a Supreme Realm expert, symbolizing their status and containing a sliver of a Supreme’s power that could be used for both offense and defense.

Enveloped by the Supreme’s oppressive Aura, Wang Tianqing froze, not daring to move an inch. He knew that if Tongyan triggered the power within the Supreme Command, he would undoubtedly die.

”This may be the Tianqing Dynasty, but I have vowed to protect Su Han. Wang Tianqing, do you have any objections?” Tongyan asked, threatening him with the Supreme Command.

Wang Tianqing’s expression was ghastly. With the Supreme Command in her possession, Tongyan could indeed kill him, and given her status, she would face no consequences. Faced with life and death, he had no choice but to submit.

”Su Han, follow me!”

This was no place to linger, so Tongyan summoned Su Han to leave with her. Wang Tianqing’s expression was foul, the Empress’s eyes were filled with bitter venom, and Yan Liu’s murderous intent was unmistakable. Yet, in the face of Tongyan’s Supreme Command, none of them dared to make a move.

Su Han’s injuries had recovered slightly. He struggled to his feet and retrieved the Black Blade. His gaze swept over Yan Liu and the Empress before finally resting on Wang Tianqing.

”I have been the Ninth Prince since childhood and fought in hundreds of battles for the Tianqing Army. I never imagined my unwavering loyalty would be repaid like this.”

”From this day forward, I am no longer the Ninth Prince. I have no relation whatsoever to the Imperial Family!”

With those words, Su Han severed all ties of kindness and duty with the Imperial Family.
