Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Gaining Followers

After wrapping up a day of shooting, it actually wasn’t too late. Li Younan heard Xie Lin say that if they can finish before 6 PM, it means the filming went really smoothly. Xie Lin is still waiting, the official filming is estimated to start after 9 PM.

Today, he played a small soldier in the Nationalist army.

Xie Lin apologized, saying, ”I won’t be with you this afternoon, brother.”

Li Younan said carelessly, ”No problem, no problem, I have plans tonight too.”

Li Younan plans to go back and edit today’s videos.

The twilight sun enveloped the ancient city in a yellow haze.

Li Younan thought regretfully, it’s a pity he didn’t bring his camera, otherwise he really wanted to take a photo of Xie Lin.

Photography, for outsiders, has a major misunderstanding: always thinking a high-quality photo needs clever composition, professional color parameter adjustments, and fancy post-processing.

Actually, if ordinary people want to take a good photo, the focus should be on the subject of the photo.

Whether it is composition, color, or post-processing, the core purpose is to highlight the subject.

And what’s most important on the subject is emotion and atmosphere, a bit higher level is the sense of story.

The ideal state is when you see the subject in a photo, you can imagine a story in your mind, which doesn’t actually require much technique; for ordinary people, just being good at capturing details and emotions in life can produce an honest photo.

And Li Younan saw Xie Lin at this moment: he wore the Nationalist army hat askew, his hair at the temples wet with sweat, but with a grin on his face, his clothes messy, sitting lazily on the steps, the sunset at his feet.

Li Younan was silent, suddenly took a photo of Xie Lin with his phone.

This photo didn’t use a professional camera or a professional model, but seeing this scene, it’s hard not to be moved by this emotion.

Li Younan named the photo, ”Veteran Actor”.

Li Younan said to Xie Lin, ”See you tomorrow.”

After returning to the hotel, Li Younan eagerly took out his phone to check the video he posted. The likes had already risen to over 4,000, and the followers had reached over 3,000. This growth rate is quite surprising for a new broadcaster who only posted one video just two days ago.

However, Li Younan also knew that he purely rode the wave of a big broadcaster’s popularity. He took out his phone and continued browsing comments, but soon discovered that the fans were no longer just coming from that acrobatic broadcaster.

Li Younan saw many comments saying, ”Finally found the original!”

”So you’re hiding here.”

”Didn’t expect you could do flips too.”

At first, Li Younan was somewhat puzzled, where did these people come from? Suddenly he saw a comment, ”Release another carving video!”

In an instant, Li Younan understood, someone saw his carving video in the ’Bearded Uncle’ series, then stumbled upon his video, and made him a guiding light.

Li Younan found the ’Bearded Uncle’ video again, at this time the likes had exceeded 100,000. It must be said, this type of video filled with curiosity, sentiment, twist, awesomeness, etc., does have the potential to go viral.

He opened the comment section, and indeed one of the top comments was, ”Folks, I found the original for you.” Then it tagged Li Younan, allowing direct access to Li Younan’s homepage through the link.

At this time, Li Younan’s followers were still increasing, almost every time he refreshed, his follower count would update.

Unknowingly, time passed, and Li Younan, indulging in the pleasure of gaining followers, felt a bit hungry.

Realizing this, he suddenly reflected. To be honest, experiencing the increase in followers is addictive, you unconsciously keep refreshing, unconsciously looking at new comments, consuming a lot of time.

Li Younan put down his phone, this is not a good thing, he mustn’t forget his original intention, he should control the traffic, not be controlled by it.

Thinking of this, Li Younan set a rule for himself: after posting a video, only browse comments during a fixed time period, then decide whether to reply based on the situation.

Li Younan went downstairs in the hotel to casually eat a bowl of noodles, filled his stomach, and then returned to the room to focus on editing the video.

The computer he brought from Yang Ting’s home is quite old and not very usable, so Li Younan used the simplest and most basic method on his phone to edit the video.

He cut the necessary footage, arranged it, then inserted text according to the prepared script, and added AI voice-over. He originally planned to use his own voice to record, but after several tries, the reading was not satisfactory, staggering and sounding very stiff. Don’t underestimate this task, without a bit of talent it’s really hard to do, so he decided to use AI voice-over throughout.

Although the video was somewhat roughly made, overall, it could tell the day’s experience clearly, which is acceptable. Even so, Li Younan took three to four hours to finish editing this video. By this time, the sky outside had darkened. After exporting the video, Li Younan watched it again.

The video title is, ”Experience as an Extra at Hengdian, and Act with the Leading Actress.”

”Today’s goal is to experience a day as a background actor. I have a friend who has been doing extras here for many years, he suggested I directly try out for a foreground actor. If other friends want to experience being an extra, they can apply for an actor certificate a few days in advance, join group chats, and find announcements themselves.”

”Coming to Hengdian, everyone can see, it’s 6 o’clock now.”

”Got the role, still a bit confused.”

”Styling session, the stylist was very skilled.”

”Next comes the long waiting.”

”The crew suddenly said they needed an extra actor to be the leading male’s stand-in, I was called for an audition.”

”Passed the audition again, from foreground actor to stand-in actor, I told the director I need a raise.”

”Had to redo the styling again.”

”...”

”Filming went smoothly, the actress was very professional, even got me, an amateur, into the storyline. However, due to confidentiality reasons, some scenes can’t be shown now. When everyone watches this show later, try to guess which one is me.”

”That’s it for today’s video.”

At the end of the video, Li Younan added another segment: ”Youth has no price, I am Li Younan, planning to explore the vast landscape of our country, sharing the travel process and experience in this video, thank you for your attention!”

To sum up, this video is the first one on Li Younan’s video account truly in line with the account’s theme. He checked it twice, ensuring there were no spelling errors nor loopholes before clicking upload.

After finishing this task, Li Younan no longer thought about the video’s traffic, peacefully went to wash up.

He once again reminded himself not to become a slave to the traffic.
