I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

After hanging up the video call, Davis Feller used the internal communicator on his desk to make a phone call.

”It’s me, Davis Feller. Connect me to the Urban Management Section Chief’s dedicated line...”

Inside the orphanage.

The three of them were sitting together on the lawn.

Vero Belinda was quite surprised by Loren’s method of handling things, and she also hadn’t expected that this Loren was a Superhuman who originated from the Nature Sect.

Daisy Wendy wasn’t too surprised; she had already seen Loren’s intelligence file and knew he had joined the Nature Sect.

However, what puzzled Daisy was *when* Loren had joined the Nature Sect...

The time of joining wasn’t recorded in the intelligence file at all; they only knew the news had come from the Energy Department.

Of course, no one knew the intelligence regarding ”When did Loren join the Nature Sect?”

Even Loren himself didn’t know...Interestingly, to this day, no one had come to expose Loren’s lie, even allowing him to act more and more recklessly under the title of the Nature Sect’s ”God’s Favored One.”

”The issue of the orphanage’s household energy should be resolved. Now, the remaining problems are food and network access.”

After putting away his portable computer, Loren nodded to Vero Belinda as he spoke.

”I can use my family’s influence to get the network connected. The Communications Management Section Chief of the Jadeite Main City Science Department still owes the Benjamin family a favor.”

Daisy also spoke up from the side, saying she could use her family’s power to solve the network problem.

”As for the food issue, should I use my spatial ability to transport some food back?”

After thinking for a moment, Daisy then asked Loren.

Loren fell silent for a good while before shaking his head.

”You stay at the orphanage. During this period, protect this place.”

”If that Councilor Osman knows someone is interfering, he should bare his real fangs.”

Daisy glanced back at the group of low-tier female Superhumans inside the orphanage and nodded in agreement with this plan.

”Then how do you plan to solve the food problem?”

Loren rose from the lawn, and the pair of broad black wings appeared behind him once more.

”I’ll personally go purchase the food.”

”If anyone tries to stop me, then you all in the orphanage can wish for him to have a whole corpse.”

After saying this, Loren gave a slight lift of his hat to Dean Vero Belinda, indicating he was taking his leave.

The Black Wings gave a gentle beat.

Loren’s figure instantly appeared high above the orphanage. With another beat of the Black Wings, Loren’s figure vanished from the high altitude...

Federal Calendar 7708, October 15th, midday.

Jadeite Star Domain Main City.

A large-scale distribution hub for grains and meats.

This place was far from the city center, located in a rather remote area within the Main City.

Every day, this distribution hub received vast quantities of resources like grains, meats, and vegetables transported from the agricultural planets of the Jadeite Star Domain.

At this moment, outside this grain and meat distribution hub, a massive transport truck was being loaded.

Not far from this giant transport truck, a tall man wearing a black trench coat and a hat was calmly observing this scene.

As time passed, hundreds of tons of grain were loaded onto the giant transport truck by old-model transport robots lacking intelligence, along with about a ton of meat and vegetables.

Loren stared at the sluggish old-model robots not far away, silently frowning and muttering in his heart: *This decaying Federation is bound to collapse sooner or later...*

Ever since a certain ”Intelligent Machinery Crisis” occurred in Federation history, the Federation had turned to researching various Mecha that required human pilots. The Federation Council had also enacted an ”Artificial Intelligence Prohibition Act.”

All models of robots were prohibited from connecting to any network.

All intelligent AIs were prohibited from being installed in any model of robot.

All mechanical constructs capable of free movement could only possess basic programmed settings; the development of any intelligence was forbidden.

Over so many years, with the support of the Federation Council, there wasn’t a single robot with high-level intelligence left in the entire Federation.

Even the hovercars commonly seen on the streets were prohibited from having any intelligent AI installed, only allowed to be equipped with basic assistance programs.

Replacing them were overwhelming numbers of various Mecha: engineering Mecha, combat Mecha, medical Mecha...

This was also why Loren couldn’t help but curse the Federation in his heart once more.

While an ”Intelligent Machinery Crisis” wouldn’t happen, clearly, efficiency had dropped significantly in many areas without Mecha compared to before.

Loren stared at the sluggish old-model robots not far away, silently frowning and muttering in his heart: *This decaying Federation is bound to collapse sooner or later...*

Ever since a certain Mecha Intelligence Crisis occurred in Federation history, the Federation had turned to researching various Mecha that required human pilots. The Federation Council had also enacted an ”Artificial Intelligence Prohibition Act.”

Since this was Loren’s first time purchasing supplies and he wasn’t too sure exactly how much food the orphanage needed, after arriving at this grain and meat distribution hub, he had simply waved his hand and bought 600 Spirit Stones’ worth of food resources.

Then, he began his long wait...

”Raven, did I buy a bit too much?” Loren looked at the mountains of piled-up food and voiced a question in his heart.

”I am glad, Master, that you have finally realized this matter. Clearly, excess wealth has made you resemble a somewhat naive nouveau riche.”

Loren: ”......” Well said, but don’t say it next time.

Finally, that giant transport truck started up.

”Sir, where should we deliver these goods for you?”

While a Mecha Intelligence Crisis wouldn’t happen, clearly, efficiency had dropped significantly in many areas without Mecha compared to before.

”Jadeite Main City, Madam Vero Belinda’s orphanage,” Loren replied calmly.

”Such a large quantity of goods... are you buying them to donate to the orphanage, sir?” The driver was somewhat surprised.

”Mhm.” Loren nodded.

The driver turned and looked at Loren seriously, then said sincerely,

”Sir, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone as kind-hearted as you.”

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Loren’s mouth. Kind-hearted? Interesting...

The giant transport truck slowly drove out of the large grain and meat distribution hub, entered the main artery of Jadeite Main City, and headed in the direction of the orphanage.

Then, during his casual chat with the driver, Loren discovered something even more interesting.

This driver knew about that orphanage, but he didn’t know it was about to be forcibly demolished...

Loren, sitting in the passenger seat, pondered.

He was indirectly gauging the strength of this Councilor Osman through this matter.

It seemed the Federation citizens within the Main City didn’t know this news. Had Councilor Osman blocked the information?

These media outlets clearly lacked the professional integrity of reporters from the Stellar Daily.

The free Federation was nothing but a plaything in the hands of various councilors...
