I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

”Master, are you troubled about how to complete the second suggestion?”

Raven, who understood Loren very well, seemed to know exactly what Loren was thinking.

”A little.”

”Master, perhaps you should consider the tasks from the Interstellar Hunter Association. They have all kinds of missions there.”

After hearing Raven’s suggestion, Loren pondered for a moment.

”Wouldn’t that be a bit of a waste of time?”

Some of the Interstellar Hunter Association’s tasks were indeed quite time-consuming.

”You can pick ones that fit the second suggestion but are also relatively easy to complete.”

”After all, for us now, many tasks are simple,” Raven tried to persuade Loren.

Loren thought it over and decided to accept Raven’s suggestion. Before finding a better way, it seemed this was the only option...

When Loren first learned of the second suggestion, he had considered whether he should find someone desperately in need of power every day and give them a Revolver.

But in the end, Loren gave up on that idea.

Such people had too many uncontrollable factors.

Loren didn’t want to expose too much of his own information, nor did he want to find himself in a highly unpredictable environment when he resurrected and returned.

Casually distributing Revolvers was a risky decision.

Ever since learning that the Revolver could be used as a resurrection anchor point, Loren’s selection criteria had become simpler.

Either the other party had some value.

Or he had an extremely strong feeling in his heart, wanting to give them a Revolver.

People who could meet these conditions were not easy to find.

”I’m going to sleep. Keep watch.”

After giving this order to Raven, Loren relaxed completely, lay down on the bed, and closed his eyes.

After a long night and only resting for four hours on the hovercar, Loren felt sleepiness wash over him.

No matter what tomorrow would bring, he decided to try completing those three suggestions only after waking up.

This might be his last sleep where he didn’t have to think too much.

He cleared his mind, intending to fall into a deep sleep.

Raven, who didn’t need rest, upon hearing Loren’s command, did as usual. It opened the portable computer to study while simultaneously keeping watch over the surroundings.

It faithfully carried out Loren’s orders.

Even though this was the Interstellar Hunter Association, both the man and the raven knew the probability of a dangerous incident happening here was not zero.

In this world, there were always crazy and powerful people who acted solely according to their own whims.

People like Loren were not uncommon within the Federation...

This was a strange era.

The mad were increasing daily, and the weak were everywhere.

...

Federal Calendar 7708, October 15th, morning.

Loren woke up on the large bed in the lounge.

He had slept through an entire afternoon and a full night.

Now, all the fatigue on his body had vanished, and he felt incredibly light and relaxed.

Even the mental exhaustion brought by continuous battles had been carried away by sleep.

”Morning, Raven.”

”Good morning, my master.”

Raven released its grip on the portable computer, looked up, and offered its greeting to Loren.

Loren got up from the bed and walked alone to the washroom.

After washing his face, Loren stared blankly at his own reflection in the mirror, still dotted with water droplets.

He realized he hadn’t paid such close attention to himself in a long time.

Had he already become like this?

Looking at the person in the mirror, Loren actually felt a sense of illusion arise in his heart.

Even I feel somewhat unfamiliar with myself?

He shook his head, clearing away the extraneous thoughts, and slowly spoke to his reflection in the mirror:

”I, Las Loren, was born...”

Five minutes later.

Loren walked out of the washroom, his face showing no change in expression.

”Let’s go, Raven.” His tone was flat, as if nothing had happened.

”As you command, master.”

Raven grabbed the portable computer and flew to Loren’s shoulder.

Loren took the portable computer and stored it inside the ”Crimson Tear.”

Then he put on his black coat, placed the hat on his head, and straightened it out.

Man and raven, just like always, walked out of the room.

In the first-floor lobby of the Interstellar Hunter Association.

Loren, with Raven, stepped out of the elevator and into the noisy lobby.

As Loren’s footsteps moved forward, the noisy atmosphere gradually quieted.

The crowd made way for the advancing Loren, watching him with varied expressions.

Loren ignored these gazes and walked to the familiar service window.

Daisy Wendy looked at Loren outside the window, an involuntary smile appearing on her face.

”Good morning, Loren. It seems you rested well last night. You look particularly different today.”

”Oh? Different how?”

Was the effect of that suggestion so obvious?

”Today, you look even more handsome than yesterday.” A hint of a different light flickered in Daisy Wendy’s eyes.

Loren: ”...”

Ma’am, your words are quite presumptuous.

”I’m here to choose a task. One that can improve my reputation, and preferably doesn’t waste too much time. Do you have any recommendations?”

Loren didn’t engage with her comment and directly stated his purpose.

He didn’t reveal his true objective; that would seem too strange...

A task to improve his reputation should roughly equate to a good deed.

Seeing that Loren didn’t respond to her rather obvious implication, Daisy Wendy felt a pang of disappointment.

But when she heard Loren’s purpose, her mood improved significantly. She felt she had found an opportunity to be alone with Loren.

”You’re finally starting to care about your reputation? That’s not easy. Coincidentally, I have a task here that fits your requirements.”

”However, there’s a small condition. You have to take me with you. Don’t worry, I won’t hold you back.”

”This task is a bit special. Taking me along will help you complete it faster.”

Loren frowned. He wasn’t used to completing tasks with others.

Cooperation between people was quite troublesome, full of surprises and variables.

After all, other people’s luck varied; it wasn’t always constant.

Just as he was about to open his mouth to refuse Daisy Wendy...

Daisy Wendy saw Loren’s reluctant expression and spoke up first again:

”Unfortunately, this is the only task available. Tasks that can improve one’s good reputation are rare. The reason this one is still here is simply because the difficulty of completing it is too high.”

Hearing this, Loren silently took out a coin and flipped it.

Heads. Truth.

Loren sighed inwardly, then asked:

”What task?”

A triumphant smile appeared on Daisy Wendy’s face. Her eyes curved as she explained:

”A big shot has taken a fancy to the land of an orphanage within the Main City. The orphanage itself disagrees with the demolition, so that big shot wants to forcibly demolish the orphanage through some means and then build a manor belonging to him.”

”But that orphanage has existed for a long time and has even produced some Superhumans. They also don’t want the orphanage to be torn down.”

”So, someone posted this matter as a task, hoping a powerful Superhuman would step in to protect that orphanage.”

”And because the orphanage has long survived on donations from kind-hearted people, this task cannot offer overly generous rewards.”

”Loren, do you want to accept this task?”
