I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Loren quickly exited the forum.

Within the search field of his portable personal computer, he opened the Stellar Daily website.

The raven also brought its little head closer to look.

For these past three days, the raven had become extremely quiet.

It had stayed by Loren’s side the entire time, quietly staring at the screen, silently absorbing all the information from the Federation network.

For a newly sentient psychic life form, this was fatally alluring.

On the Stellar Daily website, a report appeared on the homepage.

”A Powerful Federation, Rotten from Within”

The title of this report occupied the entire homepage, and the font color was a striking red.

Loren clicked in, subconsciously glancing at the reporter’s name, and was somewhat surprised.”Master, it seems that Oliver holds a rather high position at Stellar Daily...”

The raven also saw the name of the article’s author; it was precisely that extravagant reporter from three days ago.

Ignoring the raven’s surprise, Loren seriously read through the entire report.

The first part of the report detailed the recent causes, consequences, and various specific details surrounding the blockade of the Dusk Star Domain by the Federation Energy Department.

In the middle section of the report, Oliver included his own speculations about dereliction of duty and internal moles within various Federation departments.

And in the concluding part of the report, he acted like a sharp-tongued critic.

Righteously and sternly, he pointed out the rot within the Federation over the years, directly targeting the three most powerful departments, and with rather fierce language, equally criticized all of the Federation’s functional departments.

In the final sentence, he asked a truly terrifying question:

”Are the Federation’s enemies those conspirators hiding in the shadows? Or are they the high-ranking officials within the Federation itself who have lost their ideals?”

To be honest, even for a somewhat crazy thrill-seeker like Loren, his first reaction after reading this report was:

Does this guy not plan on living a peaceful life from now on?

This was practically pointing at each powerful department and cursing them out, even exposing some people’s conspiracies to overthrow the Federation.

This kind of dancing-on-graves behavior made Loren deeply admire that Oliver, whom he had only met once.

Only this kind of death could be called spectacular!

He was a true journalist.

Interestingly, although most of the details in this report came from Loren’s account.

The words ”Loren” and ”Interstellar Hunter” did not appear in the report. It only mentioned that the information came from a mysterious source.

It was as if, to protect Loren, his role was quietly concealed.

And all the attention and firepower were directed towards Stellar Daily and Oliver.

After finishing the report, Loren tossed the portable computer aside.

”It seems constantly having Fortune attached to me has an effect. Now, almost no attention will focus on me.”

After putting down the portable computer, Loren began thinking about which star domain he should go to.

In Loren’s view, the Dusk Star Domain would hold little fun from now on.

Once this report was published, the Dusk Star Domain would face even stricter scrutiny and purges.

No one of any kind would directly challenge the Federation’s authority at this critical juncture.

Stellar Daily had already exposed all the internal problems of the Federation. Once the fig leaf was torn off, covering it up again would be very difficult.

Now, Federation citizens across many star domains were all aware of this matter.

The Federation’s high-ranking officials would ultimately have to do something to quell the public’s anger.

For a long time to come, the Dusk Star Domain would likely face intense surveillance from the Federation.

After thinking for a long time, Loren still hadn’t decided on his next destination.

He wasn’t familiar with the other star domains.

After fruitless contemplation, Loren had a sudden idea. He picked up the portable computer again and logged back into the Interstellar Hunter forum.

”Waiting online! Among the many Federation star domains, which one is more suitable for mid-level superhumans to earn spirit stones?!”

Loren posted a thread, hoping these well-spoken people on the forum could give a reasonable suggestion.

The reason Loren dared to ask on the forum was because he had learned over the past three days that the Federation network operated on an anonymity system.

After each portable computer connected to the network, it would be randomly assigned an untraceable alias by the Federation Central Star Domain’s AI—Nebula.

Anyone or any organization trying to trace a portable computer’s location would ultimately trace it back to this groundbreaking AI, ”Nebula.”

Even the Federation Science Department itself couldn’t trace it; ”Nebula” operated independently.

This system originated from a bill passed by the Federation Council in the past, the ”Federation Citizen Privacy Protection Act.”

It was hard to say whether this act contributed to the current chaos within the Federation.

Of course, it also gave rise to an unimaginably vibrant and energetic atmosphere on the Federation network.

...

Soon, various replies appeared under the post.

The Interstellar Hunter forum was full of interstellar hunters suffering from ”severe internet dependency syndrome.”

These people, except when on missions, spent most of their time year-round surfing the Federation public network at high intensity.

Loren clicked into his post and started reading from the first reply.

WannaCatchADruidAsPet: ”OP, judging by your username, are you a beast tamer? Then I recommend you go to the Beastkin Star Domain. It’s full of cute fluffy creatures there, a paradise for beast tamers!!”

Loren calmly replied.

ALuckyPetKeeper: ”No, I’m just an ordinary psychic. Wanting to move to a different star domain to settle down.”

After replying, Loren continued browsing other answers, skillfully skipping over some less serious ones.

IAmNotACultReally: ”Of course I recommend you join the great Star Traveler Society...”

RunningACultIsTooHard: ”Want to join a mysterious and powerful team? The people inside are super interesting, and we even assign partners!!”

Sorry, I’d rather join the Nature Sect... You guys should first figure out how not to get caught by the Security Bureau... Loren silently complained.

TheEmpireAcrossForeverEndures: ”Of course, leave the Federation and develop in the Empire! I think the Federation is doomed sooner or later!!”

After reading this reply, Loren silently clicked the report button in the top right corner.

IWantToJoinTheFederationCouncilTooAAAAA: ”Everyone above is an idiot. I recommend you go to the Flicker Star Domain. It’s the border between the Federation and the Empire. A real man proves himself on the battlefield!!!”

You’re an idiot too! Loren silently banned this person from his thread.

FederationSecurityBureauAlwaysHiring: ”OP want to join the Security Bureau? Training provided, assignments guaranteed. Everyone says it’s great!”

ALuckyPetKeeper: ”Killed a retired Federation agent, can I still join?”

FederationSecurityBureauAlwaysHiring: ”Open the door! I’m here to deliver some warmth!!!”

LaLaLaLaLaAManMustBeHard: ”Verdict: OP is a total badass!”

HalfAnUnknownHunter: ”666, straight-up face-slapping!!”

Ignoring this derailed conversation, Loren continued scrolling down.

InterstellarTravelerOnBike: ”You could consider the Jadeite Star Domain. The people there are relatively wealthy.”

ALuckyPetKeeper: ”Thanks, will consider it.”

InterstellarTravelerOnBike: ”The Radiant Flow Star Domain is also possible, but there are quite a few cult organizations there. If you’re confident in your strength, you can go.”

Loren silently noted down the Jadeite Star Domain and Radiant Flow Star Domain.

He continued scrolling down.

Soon, one reply caught Loren’s attention.

ACultivatorWhoWillNeverKillWifeForDao: ”Come to the Eastern Star Domain. The Heavenly Net Sect here is recruiting to develop a resource planet.”

DiggingHolesEverydayIsTiring: ”OP don’t believe it. You’re a psychic. The Eastern Star Domain has serious cultivation discrimination! Practitioners of other systems who go there are just asking for suffering!”
