After being politely brushed off by Loren, Isha quickly followed up with a question.

”May I ask where you got your information, Mr. Loren?”

She asked while staring intently into Loren’s eyes.

It must be said, those eyes were truly beautiful, Isha couldn’t help but admire them inwardly.

A smile involuntarily curled at the corner of Loren’s mouth.

”Of course it was your investigator who told me.”

Loren answered calmly, recounting how he had encountered that investigator, completely composed.

”The investigator who died in the alley in the Upper District? You met him before he died?”

”Yes. I was investigating a special commission at the time, and I happened to run into him during the investigation.”

”Can you be specific? For example, the battle that broke out in that alley.”Isha’s expression turned serious and severe, as if the flirtatious person from moments ago was not her.

Loren nodded and continued to speak with unruffled composure.

”After I ran into that dutiful investigator, the people hunting him arrived at that same time.”

”Those who came to hunt him probably wanted to keep things secret. They didn’t intend to speak, they planned to silence me.”

”So I had no choice but to return them to nature.”

”By the way, among the team that was hunting them, there was a rather cute big dog.”

”That dutiful investigator called it the ’Hellhound.’”

After saying that, Loren stopped spinning his revolver with his fingertips and placed it on the dining table beside him, indicating he had finished speaking.

When Isha finished listening to Loren’s account, she lowered her head and sank into deep thought.

War weapon ”Hellhound”? It looked like those Energy Department people were in trouble too. The Federation had already outlawed biological experiments.

Having mentally noted this piece of information, Isha raised her head and looked at Loren again.

”Excuse me, Mr. Loren, did you just say you ’returned them to nature’?”

Loren put one hand over his chest, removed his hat with the other, then crossed his hands in front of his chest and bowed slightly.

He performed a very odd salutation.

”Ms. Isha, as you can see, I am a member of the Nature Sect. May nature watch over and bless you.”

The raven, pecking at fresh fruit nearby, heard Loren’s nonsense and silently applied another layer of Fortune onto him.

It was genuinely afraid its master would be exposed and drag it into being hunted by the Energy Department as well.

The raven, whose memories were linked to Loren’s, naturally understood what its master was doing.

Loren was bluffing to intimidate the woman in front of him and the Energy Department behind her.

He had thrown up the Nature Sect banner.

In reality, Loren had never seen a member of the Nature Sect, nor had he ever joined it.

The Nature Sect was an extremely radical organization in Federation history.

Its structure was loose, members were mostly free and scattered, and often did not even know one another.

These people proclaimed: ”The development of technology and humanity’s endless expansion have betrayed nature.”

The Nature Sect’s doctrine was simple.

”Destroy technology and defend nature.”

Yet this folk organization, simple in structure from its founding, once caused the Federation endless trouble.

Perhaps the ”will of nature” that the Nature Sect worshipped truly existed.

Among these extremely lax and extreme people, high-tier Superhumans appeared one after another.

As if blessed by a mysterious ”will of nature.”

And high-tier Superhumans often meant power comparable to warship-class strength.

Such an extreme and terrifying organization reconciled with the Federation over a century ago.

In Federal Calendar 7556.

After opposing the Federation for thousands of years, the Nature Sect’s nominal ”leader” announced joining the Federation Council as its eighteenth member.

From then on, the Natural Environment Protection Act was enacted, covering every corner of the Federation.

Because the sect’s organizational structure was so loose, the Nature Sect never disbanded; it simply stopped openly opposing the Federation.

Its members scattered into every corner of the Federation.

Like ”ghosts” silently supervising the Federation from the shadows.

As if once the Federation polluted the natural environment again, these ”ghosts” would return to the world.

The vast majority of the Federation’s people kept a respectful distance from these ”ghosts.”

No one knew how many high-tier Superhumans were hidden among this group of freewheeling extremists.

This was also why Loren waved the banner of that sect.

Because the Energy Department needed to mine various energy sources, the Nature Sect had been their biggest headache in the past.

Understanding how frightening the Nature Sect could be, the Energy Department was also the group that most respected them.

Of course, the main reason was the Nature Sect’s extremely loose structure.

Members mostly did not interfere with each other and were free and scattered.

For the moment, no one would come to expose Loren’s lie.

Isha watched Loren’s ”nature blessing” with a complex expression, her body instinctively taking a step back until she leaned against the back of the dining chair.

Part disgust, part wariness.

In Isha’s eyes,

a Nature Sect fanatic telling an Energy Department investigator, ”May nature watch over and bless you,”

was not so much a curse as a mocking insult delivered face-to-face.

What an unpleasant personality, she thought silently.

So young and already a Fifth Tier Superhuman, and from this Resource Planet no less. The Nature Sect’s mysterious ”natural will” was truly terrifying.

Isha did not doubt Loren’s claimed identity; instead she quietly completed the image of him in her mind.

To her, the man was young yet already a mid-tier Superhuman.

This fit perfectly with the Nature Sect’s extreme and gifted profile.

Bad-tempered, hostile to everything, exceptionally talented.

And he carried around a bird that seemed to possess only intelligence...

Yes, this was her imagined Nature Sect member, textbook perfect, almost too perfect.

Feeling both disgust and caution, Isha silently adjusted her attitude toward Loren.

”Mr. Loren, may I ask, how did that respected investigator die in the alley?”

”From the corpse we retrieved, it looks like he died from your method of combat.”

”Just like the miners you killed at will, his skull was cruelly blasted open...”

Isha finally revealed the purpose of her visit and placed her hand on the communicator at her waist.

If things went wrong, she would send a signal.

Then the several Special Situation Handling Teams waiting outside would rush in and arrest Loren.

Although that would offend the Interstellar Hunter Association, they could compensate with some Spirit Stones afterward.

After all, Loren had attacked an Energy Department investigator first.

Given the circumstances, the Energy Department did not mind ”bullying” the Interstellar Hunter Association a little.
