Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Mom and Dad, I Miss You So Much

The person in the windbreaker saw that the gate to the living area was already open, their eyes flashed, and they put away their knife.

They then started shouting loudly.

”Why are you all up in the middle of the night running here? Go back to sleep, don’t wander around! Don’t disturb others resting!”

The people who rushed out didn’t pay any attention to them.

Everyone had only one thought, to run into the living area and survive.

The living area already had many people like them, unkempt and shabby. If they could just get there, even Captain Zhu wouldn’t dare arrest them in front of the survivors.

After Leng Yebai and the others came out, the abandoned building collapsed with a boom.

Leng Yebai carried Fan Tangtang, avoiding the gaze of the superpower user squad, and quietly moved with Bai Xiqin to the edge of the corner.

The whole safe zone was like daytime; luckily, not all cameras were covering the area, so if they were careful, no one would notice them.

Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai took a large detour and entered the living area.

The living area was near the edge of the safe zone; once they got outside the safe zone, there was nothing to worry about.

Suddenly, Fan Tangtang’s dark eyes erupted with intense light.

”It’s mom and dad!”

Fan Tangtang struggled hard in Leng Yebai’s hands, eagerly rushing in a certain direction.

Bai Xiqin glanced in that direction and paused in silence.

The people sleeping outdoors in the living area were awakened by searchlights, huddling together in fear.

They were all ordinary people with no ability to earn crystal cores, no houses to live in, forced to sleep outdoors.

The slightest rustle of wind would scare them half to death.

Looking across the fear-stricken crowd, there was a noticeably outstanding middle-aged couple.

The middle-aged man was tall and upright, the middle-aged woman still charming, their hands tightly clasped together.

There wasn’t much fear on their faces, only calmness.

The worst thing in this world is death, and having their most loved ones by their side, there were no regrets dying together.

This couple, Bai Xiqin knew them; Bai Yifan had once crashed their car beyond repair.

They were the Fan Family.

Fan Tangtang, the Fan Family, turned out to be a family of three.

At that time, seeing the grief-stricken Fan Family, they thought all their loved ones were gone.

Who would have thought their son was actually Fan Tangtang!

”Keep it quiet, we’ll take you to find mom tomorrow,” Leng Yebai whispered.

After speaking, Leng Yebai dragged Fan Tangtang forward.

Now, everyone in the safe base was awake, and with Fan Tangtang holding onto his own exposed intestines, it really wasn’t the time for a reunion.

”No, I want to go to my mom and dad now!”

Fan Tangtang had a layer of tears in his eyes, persistently struggling in Leng Yebai’s grip, his chubby hands occasionally trying to pry open Leng Yebai’s hand.

Fan Tangtang’s nails didn’t seem sharp but still gave Bai Xiqin quite a fright.

”Leng Yebai!”

Bai Xiqin’s voice was a bit hoarse.

Leng Yebai was also taken aback as Fan Tangtang’s fingers swiped at Leng Yebai’s hand again.

The nails were about to cut through the palm of Leng Yebai’s hand in the next second.

With a thud.

Bai Xiqin controlled Leng Yebai’s hand, forcing him to release his grip.

Fan Tangtang fell to the ground, quickly got up, and sprinted towards the Fan Family couple.

”Mom, dad, I’ve finally found you!”

Fan Tangtang’s voice carried a hint of crying, reaching out both hands as he sprinted, black blood trailing along his footsteps.

His fair, tender face, his naively adorable body, the black blood...

The massive searchlights made the safe base as bright as day.

Fan Tangtang’s shocking appearance instantly caught everyone’s attention.

”Oh my God, look at his belly!”

”Ah! It’s a zombie!”

”Run!”

”Why does he look just like a child!”

”Run, don’t go near him, he’s a zombie!”

The living area instantly exploded into chaos, the survivors looking in horror at the charging Fan Tangtang and his abdomen with a large hole.

Dark intestines dangled outside, and with such an innocent face, he appeared more chilling than those grotesque zombies.

A talking zombie.

A zombie who looks identical to a human.

Just the thought of it sent shivers down one’s spine.

Fan Tangtang ignored the dangling intestines, beaming widely as he ran towards the Fan Family couple with open arms.

The superpower users in the living area frantically avoided Fan Tangtang’s path, fleeing in the opposite direction.

Fan Liping and Hu Meiling saw the panicked fleeing crowd and were about to follow the flow.

But then they heard a child’s voice they often heard in their dreams.

”Mom, dad, I’m here, Tangtang has finally found you!”

Dreams merged with reality.

For a moment, the Fan Family couple thought they were experiencing noise in their ears again.

Even though they knew clearly that their son couldn’t possibly still be alive, they still turned around.

And when they did, from afar, the Fan Family couple saw a tender silhouette.

The little silhouette’s running was a bit unsteady, appearing to stagger slightly.

Under the illumination of the searchlights, this little figure had nothing to hide, and that innocent smiling face collided directly with their eyes.

In an instant, the two were dumbfounded.

Their adorable son had died from brain cancer a while before the apocalypse outbreak.

It was they who personally buried him in the yard.

But this face in front of them looked exactly like their son who had died young.

Fan Liping and Hu Meiling’s breathing stopped, their hearts pounding violently, their whole bodies trembling uncontrollably.

The two tightly held hands, sharp nails cutting into each other’s palms, yet unnoticed.

Time froze in this moment.

Their adorable son was running towards them with open arms and a beaming smile.

The escaping crowd didn’t obstruct their view.

None of it mattered to them.

Their eyes were fixed on the face they longed for day and night, tears streaming down.

The two leaned on each other, and if not for having one another for support, they would have already collapsed to the ground.

”Old Fan, why are you still standing there, run! He’s a zombie!”

A middle-aged man passing by the barely standing Fan Family couple hurriedly pushed them, not waiting for a response, and quickly ran off.

He was just an ordinary person, and encountering a zombie only meant escaping.

The Fan Family couple staggered from the push, nearly falling.

Their eyes locked onto Fan Tangtang’s face, tears blurred their vision, and they hurriedly wiped their eyes with their sleeves.

All they saw was their son; they didn’t even hear what others said to them.

”Mom, dad, I miss you so much!”

Fan Tangtang ran all the way, his face lit with a blissful smile.

Even though mom and dad had buried him underground, he didn’t resent them at all.

He thought, it must have been because he wasn’t behaving well, that’s why mom and dad let him sleep underground.

No problem, he’ll just have to be more obedient from now on!

”Ah!”

Suddenly, a long sword pierced through Fan Tangtang’s heart, black blood dripping from the blade onto the ground.

Fan Tangtang stopped, looking a bit downcast at the sword in his chest.

With a sword through his heart, he couldn’t hug mom and dad.

He wasn’t afraid of pain, but he couldn’t bear letting mom and dad hurt.

”Stop there!”

A superpower user in a black windbreaker blocked the space between Fan Tangtang and the Fan Family couple, slowly retracting his hand, it was him who had thrown the sword out in a critical moment, striking the zombie before him.

”Mom, dad, I’ll hug you later, can you wait for me a bit, don’t run off, I might lose you,” Fan Tangtang tilted his body, looking pitifully towards the Fan Family couple.

The Fan Family couple looked blankly at Fan Tangtang’s innocent face, then at the intestines-baring abdomen and the sword-pierced body.

”Ah—”

Hu Meiling let out a piercing scream.
