Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1090: Chapter 744: Lu Fusheng Breaks Through

In an instant, the black-clad figure had already appeared like a ghost before him, a flash of cold light as the gleam of the blade rushed straight for Yang Zhenshan’s throat. At the critical moment, Yang Zhenshan’s spear tip arrived first despite being launched later, the spear body quivering, emitting a buzzing sound, akin to a nimble silver snake, thrusting directly at the black-clad figure’s chest. The spear tip cut through the air, producing a sharp whistle, as if it wanted to tear through the ink-like night.

”An inch longer, an inch stronger.”

Before the blade could get close, the long spear in Yang Zhenshan’s hand already trembled out a touch of green spear light, like a green lightning bolt, carrying an unstoppable momentum, straight toward the black-clad figure’s chest.

This thrust of the spear was as quick as a shooting star catching up with the moon, a sharp whistle ringing in the air.

Moreover, what lingered around the spear was a strong spear intent, the culmination of years of Yang Zhenshan honing his spear techniques, seemingly capable of penetrating every obstacle in front of him.

In his mind, Yang Zhenshan was clear as a mirror, knowing that he had no advantage in speed compared to this mysterious black-clad figure before him, so he remained patient, not making a move lightly. When he did make a move, it was with the intent to kill with one decisive blow.

However, when the fierce spear light fiercely stabbed into the black-clad figure, Yang Zhenshan felt as if he had struck an unbreakable steel plate.

With a crisp ”crack”, the spear light instantly shattered, turning into bits of green fluorescence that dissipated in the air. When the spear tip firmly pressed against the black-clad figure, it seemed to be stopped by an invisible, powerful force, unable to advance further.

”This... is he wearing armor?”

Yang Zhenshan couldn’t help but curse internally, ”Damn!”

In a flash, he regained his composure, pondering that it might not be armor, but something similar to a Heart Protector, but even so, the defense was astonishing.

Although this full-force spear did not pierce the black-clad figure’s chest as desired, it still had a significant impact.

The black-clad figure felt a tightness in his chest, his body uncontrollably tracing a trajectory of several yards through the air.

He lowered his head slightly, his gaze falling on his chest, where the previously neat black attire had been cut open by the spear tip, revealing a long gash.

At that moment, in those deep, dark eyes, akin to a cold pool, a trace of surprise finally flashed, obviously not expecting Yang Zhenshan’s spear to be so powerful.

When he looked up again, the black-clad figure’s gaze at Yang Zhenshan had completely changed. The previously calm, emotionless gaze had disappeared, replaced by a grave seriousness, as if he only now truly regarded the opponent before him.

The blade rose again, and the black-clad figure once more launched at Yang Zhenshan. Yang Zhenshan hovered in mid-air, wielding his spear, sometimes blocking, sometimes striking.

The black-clad figure was clearly wary of Yang Zhenshan’s spear attacks. After some dozen bouts, Yang Zhenshan could no longer find an opportunity for a fatal strike.

The two continued to tangle, with Yang Zhenshan responding to change with consistency, but as time went on, the black-clad figure seemed to have discovered a flaw in Yang Zhenshan.

He continuously circled swiftly around Yang Zhenshan, intending to find a gap.

In truth, Yang Zhenshan was not weak in air combat; he had been practicing the Leaf Fall Root Seeking Skill for five years and was already proficient in aerial combat.

However, the black-clad figure’s movement technique and footwork were more formidable, superior to Yang Zhenshan in both speed and agility.

This was not surprising; Yang Zhenshan’s Leaf Fall Root Seeking Skill was rather common, while the black-clad figure’s technique was far more profound.

Yang Zhenshan coped with the black-clad figure’s onslaught while pondering internally.

To guard for long will lead to loss!

This black-clad figure was incredibly formidable; it wasn’t a solution to keep defending like this. He must find an opportunity to attack!

With this thought, Yang Zhenshan abruptly turned his body horizontally, violently sweeping his spear outward.

The black-clad figure saw this and, instead of retreating, advanced, his figure suddenly dropping three feet, dodging the sweeping spear, then rose three feet again, closing in as the cold blade once more approached Yang Zhenshan’s throat.

This maneuver truly demonstrated extreme proficiency, with extraordinary control over movement technique.

If it were Yang Zhenshan in the same situation, he could absolutely not reach such a level.

In aerial combat, hovering is not difficult, horizontal movement and flipping up and down are not difficult, but the most difficult is moving directly up and down.

In an instant, dropping three feet, then rising three feet again, the intricacy involved could not be achieved by ordinary flight methods.

However, as Yang Zhenshan watched the black-clad figure advancing, he felt no surprise, maintaining a cool composure.

His body again shifted sideways, his spear twisting, with the spear tip facing back, the butt of the spear facing forward, thrusting out.

Who says a spear can only stab with its tip? The butt end can also thrust.

But this black-clad figure was incredibly formidable as well; in an instant, he reacted to Yang Zhenshan’s unexpected move, his figure abruptly rising another foot, causing the spear butt not to pierce his throat but instead strike his chest armor again.

With a bang, the black-clad figure was once again knocked back, his blade also scraping against Yang Zhenshan’s shoulder as he retreated.

This round, both managed to strike each other, but neither inflicted serious harm on the other.

The black-clad figure had armor under his clothing, and Yang Zhenshan was wearing a snake scale soft armor, only feeling a heavy knock on his shoulder.

The two were well-matched, with neither side gaining the upper hand.

”Mr. Yang, I’ll help you!”

At that moment, Lan Peng finally arrived, enveloped in a golden aura, with a brilliant blade light slashing directly towards the black-clad figure.

The black-clad figure’s form continuously flickered, retreating further and further, and in the blink of an eye, he retreated into the mountain forest, disappearing from sight.
