Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1066: Chapter 733: The First Encounter of Two Eagles

Wang Lei and the others arrived at the hilltop and immediately saw Yang Zhenshan battling with the giant serpent.

”Don’t go forward!” Wang Lei stopped the people behind him.

Actually, without him saying, Yang Xiangheng and the others wouldn’t go forward either.

Although they were eager to find the children, they weren’t so desperate that they’d lose their wits.

Going forward wouldn’t help at all; they’d only become a burden.

”Is that a Mutant Beast?” Wang Lei asked.

”Yes, that’s the Blue-eyed Cold Serpent!” Yang Xiangheng gazed intently at Yang Zhenshan.

”Have you seen one before?”

”No, but I’ve heard my grandfather speak of it. Ancestors killed a Blue-eyed Cold Serpent before, and it’s recorded in the family chronicles.”

Wang Lei also stared at the giant serpent relentlessly, continuing to ask, ”Are there many Mutant Beasts here?”

”Not many, this is only the second time I’ve seen a wild Mutant Beast. The last time, it was a Black Ring Golden Patterned Tiger, about twenty years ago!” Yang Xiangheng said.

Yang Xiangdong and the others nodded as well, evidently they had seen it together.

”That time, it was the government people who came to hunt it. They chased it and ended up near the northern mountain, we all saw it!” Yang Xiangheng explained.

Wang Lei nodded slightly, then suddenly said, ”This serpent doesn’t seem to have eaten anyone!”

Yang Xiangheng and the others were startled, and then began to observe carefully.

The serpent’s body was very flat, not like it had swallowed a large prey.

Yang Xiangdong and Yang Xiangxi’s sons were both about thirteen or fourteen years old, although not yet adults, they were still young men.

The giant serpent was large, but if it really swallowed the two children, its belly should have some bulges, not as flat as it looks now.

”It really doesn’t look like it ate anyone. When did Ping’er and Bo’er go missing?” Yang Xiangheng looked at Yang Xiangdong.

”They were here this morning!” Yang Xiangdong said.

”Then they shouldn’t have been eaten by this serpent!” Yang Xiangheng’s expression relaxed.

The group exchanged looks; if the children weren’t eaten by the serpent, then where did they go?

Wang Lei showed a helpless look, feeling that the serpent had gotten into trouble through no fault of its own, and looking at the Family Head’s stance, the serpent would lose its life.

”You guys go search elsewhere!”

Yang Xiangdong and Yang Xiangxi exchanged a glance, cupped their fists in salute, ”Sir, we’ll go search first.”

Although they wanted to stay and watch Yang Zhenshan battle the serpent, their hearts were still worried about the two children, so they had to search first.

At this time, the battle between Yang Zhenshan and the giant serpent had entered a fevered pitch, and the serpent had two bloody holes on its body, with crimson blood seeping out, staining a large area of scales red.

The injured serpent became more ferocious, and its attacks grew more fierce.

Generally, snakes don’t attack with their tails, but this serpent was not an ordinary snake; it was a battle-hardened veteran, with its greatest weapons being its sharp white fangs and strong tail.

As the intense battle continued, the surrounding trees were swept down by the serpent, and even the rocks were shattered, leaving the area in chaos.

In contrast, Yang Zhenshan’s attacks weren’t very destructive, but the damage to the serpent was significant.

The two bloody holes looked very deep, constantly oozing crimson blood, not only staining a large area of scales red but also reddening many surrounding rocks.

Yang Zhenshan once again leapt into the air, dodging the incoming serpent head, and his spear lashed out, striking the serpent’s head with force.

With a thud, the massive serpent head slammed onto the rocks, sending a cloud of dust into the air.

Yang Zhenshan hovered in the air, slightly panting, eyes narrowing as he kept a close watch on the serpent.

The Wood Cloud Piercing Spear and the Leaf Fall Root Seeking Skill were both highly effective, but both techniques had a flaw, or rather, Yang Zhenshan had a flaw.

Yang Zhenshan had too little True Yuan; the battle hadn’t lasted even fifteen minutes, yet his True Yuan was nearly depleted.

”I can’t drag this out any longer!”

Yang Zhenshan felt a sense of helplessness; he wanted to train more with the serpent, but his True Yuan was too limited, and sustaining this long was already difficult.

Stowing away his Returning Dust Spear, Yang Zhenshan flicked his hand and retrieved the Mystical Iron Spear.

In terms of hardness and sharpness, both spears were similar, but the Returning Dust Spear was more compatible with Green Wood True Essence, making it more effective in executing the Wood Cloud Piercing Spear Skill.

The serpent lying on the ground raised its tail and lashed toward Yang Zhenshan, who floated like a leaf in the autumn wind, drawing a curve in the air and effortlessly dodging the sweep.

But the serpent quickly opened its bloody maw, with two rows of sharp fangs gleaming coldly, biting toward Yang Zhenshan.

Seeing this, Yang Zhenshan’s eyes shone brightly, and he suddenly shouted, ”Ha!”

His body shot up a yard, dodging the serpent’s mouth, and then he suddenly plunged down, with thunder roaring, the spear tip flashing cold light, accompanied by dancing arcs of electricity, piercing into the serpent’s head.

In the next moment, the deep thunder spread in all directions, the serpent’s head once again slammed onto the ground, and the Mystical Iron Spear pinned its head to the earth.

The gigantic serpent’s body wriggled a few times before slowly softening.

Yang Zhenshan held his spear, standing atop the serpent’s head, but his brows were furrowed tightly.

Defeating the giant serpent proved his strength was not inferior to an Earth Evil Stage Martial Artist, but that was the result of using the Thunderclap Spear.

Without using the Thunderclap Spear, he guessed he would have to fight the serpent to exhaustion.

Moreover, he noticed his ability to control lightning had weakened considerably.

The ability to control lightning came from his insight into its properties, with no spiritual augmentation, purely stemming from his understanding.
