I Married the President

Chapter 649: Chapter 649: The Biggest One

Claire Sinclair walked to the sofa and sat down. Theo Rhodes sat across from her and got straight to the point. ”I’ve been here for days and haven’t seen any sign of Hanson. I suspect he’s been taken to The Inferno. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been missing for this long.”

Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, ”What exactly is The Inferno?”

”A slaughterhouse. A prison.”

”...”

A few gruesome images flashed through Claire Sinclair’s mind, and her heart leaped into her throat. ”Teacher Hartwell isn’t in trouble, is he?”

”My original plan was to wait for the city gates to open, then go back and get reinforcements. I can’t get to The Inferno on my own. Besides, if I get caught, no one will be able to get this intel out. This place has to be cleaned out. Otherwise, this tumor will just keep growing and poison more people.”

Claire Sinclair took a soft breath. ”There are still ten days. I’m worried something will happen to Teacher Hartwell. We have to find out for sure if he’s in The Inferno first.”

”Master, you can’t go there,” Theo Rhodes said, his expression serious.

’This kid has always been daring. For him to be so certain about not going there, it must be incredibly dangerous.’

Claire Sinclair said, ”I know. That’s why I wasn’t planning on sending you. I want to send Orion Osborne.”

”Orion Osborne?” Theo Rhodes was confused.

Claire Sinclair held up the ring for him to see. ”Orion Osborne had me put this on. I don’t know what this ring is, but it seems a lot of people are afraid when they see it.”

Theo Rhodes gave her a look that said ’you have no idea,’ and then explained, half-complaining, ”Master, that’s the ring that represents the four leaders of Wild Cherry House. When you wear that, everyone thinks you’re one of them.”

Claire Sinclair instinctively moved to take the ring off.

Theo Rhodes stopped her. ”Master, don’t. It’ll be useful.”

Claire Sinclair frowned. ”I don’t want to wear something like this, even if it’s useful.”

Theo Rhodes persuaded her, ”Master, if you want to find Hanson sooner, don’t take it off. Trust me, that ring is basically a cheat code in this place.”

Claire Sinclair was silent for a moment. Having finally convinced herself, she said, ”Fine. I won’t take it off.”

Theo Rhodes paused, then couldn’t help but ask, ”By the way, Master, how did you get down here?”

Claire Sinclair answered honestly, ”I was kidnapped. But I don’t know who did it. Orion Osborne was the one who saved me.”

”Master, sorry to interrupt, but who exactly is Orion Osborne?”

”Wild Cherry House. The big boss.”

”...” ’Master, you’re something else.’

Claire Sinclair sighed. ”Orion Osborne seems to know who kidnapped me, but he refuses to say, no matter how I ask. I don’t dare to act rashly.”

Theo Rhodes said, ”Could it be that he was the one who kidnapped you?”

Claire Sinclair shook her head with absolute certainty. ”It wasn’t him. He has no reason to kidnap me. Besides, after he rescued me, he just set me up in this room. He only came back today after all this time. It’s like he has something more important to do. His mind wasn’t on me at all, and he didn’t post any guards to watch me.”

Theo Rhodes analyzed the situation. ”The gates to this place only open once a month. If they want to keep someone here, they don’t need to post guards. It’s not like you can escape anyway.”

In any case, Claire Sinclair didn’t believe Orion Osborne could be the one who kidnapped her. ”That may be true, but why would he kidnap me? Besides, Orion Osborne told me the people who kidnapped me were actually trying to get my older sister. Since she’s dead, they kidnapped me instead.”

Hearing this, Theo Rhodes fell silent for a long time before speaking. ”It seems this matter isn’t so simple. But one thing’s for sure, that guy Osborne hasn’t hurt you. Master, you should just stay put here and rest easy. I live in the West District, Room 24. If anything urgent comes up, you can find me there.”
