I Married the President

Chapter 622: Chapter 622: Lost Contact

Henry Hartwell had gone missing. His phone was unreachable, all his social media accounts were deactivated, and no one had been able to contact him for over twenty-four hours.

It was Claire Sinclair’s first time meeting Old Master Hartwell face-to-face. She had come to his old, traditional courtyard residence to report the matter.

Old Master Hartwell was an amiable old gentleman. He always wore the same style of Tang suit and had a serene smile on his face. He looked gentle and scholarly, but he carried himself with a distinguished air and a powerful presence.

In his presence, Claire Sinclair felt slightly intimidated.

Old Master Hartwell’s expression didn’t change after he heard her report. He simply said, ”This matter is beyond your control. I also hope you’ll keep it confidential. I will report this to the police shortly. As for the news agency, I’ll have to rely on you for the time being.”

Claire Sinclair was taken aback. ”President, aren’t you worried about Teacher Hartwell at all?”

Old Master Hartwell said calmly, ”Henry’s capabilities are far greater than you can imagine. There’s no need to worry too much. I trust he’ll be fine.”

Claire Sinclair was surprised. She hadn’t expected the President to have such immense trust in Teacher Hartwell. This absolute faith between a father and his son filled her with respect and eased her worries slightly.

”I understand, President. Rest assured, I will manage the news agency’s affairs properly while Teacher Hartwell is away.”

”Mm. You can go back to work.”

After speaking, Old Master Hartwell leisurely closed his eyes.

Claire Sinclair said goodbye and left the courtyard.

In the car, Claire Sinclair still felt uneasy and couldn’t resist telling The Great Demon King Quincy about it.

Clairebear: Mr. Quincy, Teacher Hartwell has gone missing in the Woodforest Community. What should I do?

Adrian Quincy: With Henry Hartwell’s skills, it’s unlikely that he’s truly missing. Don’t worry.

’This guy... just like the President, he has absolute faith in Teacher Hartwell...’

Claire Sinclair didn’t understand the source of his confidence and couldn’t help but ask: Why do you trust Teacher Hartwell so much?

Adrian Quincy: Because he’s Elder Hartwell’s son.

Clairebear: ...

’Fine. She’d never understand that kind of bond between men.’

Adrian Quincy suddenly sent another message: Delegate your work at the news agency. Don’t take everything on yourself, and don’t forget about the baby.

’She had almost forgotten about that until he mentioned it.’

Claire Sinclair subconsciously touched her lower abdomen, a small smile playing on her lips as she replied: I think that name you came up with last time, Feng Sheng, is beautiful. Do you have any others? Quick, think of another one for the baby.

Adrian Quincy: We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, so it’s hard to choose a name. I’ll think of one after the baby is born.

Clairebear: Alright then. I won’t bother you right now. Let’s talk later when you’re free.

Adrian Quincy: Mm.

Claire Sinclair took a soft breath and put her phone down.

’Since even The Great Demon King Quincy said so, she had a guess as to what was happening. However, she had no evidence to prove her theory was correct.’

’Maybe in a few days, Teacher Hartwell himself would return and confirm her suspicions.’

’She’d just have to wait. For now, the only thing she could do was trust Teacher Hartwell.’

When she returned to the news agency, Bonnie Yates rushed over, hastily dragged her into the editor-in-chief’s office, and shut the door. ”Professor Sinclair,” she asked anxiously, ”Editor Hartwell is missing! Do you know where he went?”

Seeing that Bonnie was on the verge of tears, Claire Sinclair didn’t have the heart to see her so distressed. But she couldn’t tell anyone that Teacher Hartwell had gone missing, so she had to fabricate an excuse.

”Teacher Hartwell told me he’s on a business trip. He’s done this before—sometimes he’s out of contact with the agency for half a month. Don’t worry, he’ll be back once he’s finished his work.”
