I Married the President

Chapter 640: Chapter 640: This Is What It Feels Like to Get Married

Just about everyone in the world knew Ethan Kingsley, but few knew he had an ex-fiancée. Even those who did had no idea what she looked like.

And so, people started whispering.

”Oh my god, doesn’t Ethan Kingsley have a fiancée? Who’s that girl he’s holding hands with?”

”He’s a playboy. Did you really expect him to be faithful to his fiancée? So naive.”

”Sigh... He’s running for president and still can’t tame that wandering eye of his.”

”Well, I’m not voting for him. I’m definitely voting for Young Master Quincy.”

...

Ethan Kingsley seemed completely unfazed by what people were saying about him. He stopped at a flower shop with no other customers, took out his phone, and snapped a photo of himself and Ivy Tanner.

After taking it, he didn’t edit the picture at all. He uploaded it directly to Weibo with a caption: ”Little Cutie is getting cuter and cuter. Is anyone willing to marry her? As long as you treat her well, I’ll arrange the wedding myself.”

The moment the post went up on Weibo, it immediately sparked heated debate among netizens.

[Is Young Master Kingsley trying to find a husband for Little Cutie?]

[Wow, Young Master Kingsley is so responsible! He’s engaged but still remembers to find a husband for his ex-fiancée. Key point: Little Cutie is mentally disabled. Is anyone actually willing to marry her?]

[What man would be willing to marry an idiot? He doesn’t want her, so he’s just pushing her off on someone else. Tsk!]

[Little Cutie is so pretty, and that’s without any makeup! If I were a guy, I’d totally marry her.]

[Young Master Kingsley, what you’re doing is messed up. What if the man who marries Little Cutie is only after her money? That would be so unfair to her!]

[To the person above, not everyone in the world is a gold digger. I believe Little Cutie will definitely find someone who’s right for her!]

...

The moment Ivy Tanner stepped inside, her attention was completely captured by the flowers and plants. She had no time to worry about what he was posting on Weibo. After the photo was taken, she squatted down in front of a flower she had never seen before and examined it closely.

After posting to Weibo, Ethan Kingsley squatted down beside her. ”You like this one?”

”Mhm!” Ivy Tanner nodded.

Seeing this, the shopkeeper sensed that Ethan Kingsley wasn’t a man who loved flowers and quickly advised, ”Young Master Kingsley, this is a Guanding Orchid. It requires meticulous care. Are you sure you want to buy it?”

Ethan Kingsley didn’t answer, instead asking the girl beside him, ”Little Cutie, do you want to keep this flower?”

Ivy Tanner shook her head. ”No, I want Flora at home!”

Ethan Kingsley couldn’t help but chuckle. ”The ones at home are sunflowers. I told you, they’ll grow back soon. Don’t you want an even prettier flower?”

Ivy Tanner hesitated for a long time before nodding. ”I do.”

”Then how about this one?” Ethan Kingsley asked, pointing to the Guanding Orchid.

Ivy Tanner looked around, finally pointing to a pot of daffodils. ”I like that one!”

The shopkeeper breathed a sigh of relief and chimed in, ”Daffodils are easier to care for. And they’re a good match for the young lady—both are as pure and white as jade.”

”As pure and white as jade?” Ethan Kingsley lowered his gaze slightly, looking at his Little Cutie up close.

’Pure and white as jade... Yes, that’s her.’

”Alright, I’ll take this pot of flowers.”

”Of course, Young Master Kingsley. Is there anything else you’d like?”

Ethan Kingsley turned to the girl. ”Little Cutie, are there any other flowers you like?”

Ivy Tanner glanced around before shaking her head.

’I’m afraid if I get too many, I won’t be able to keep them alive. Besides, I won’t be at The Golden Brocade Palace for much longer. After I leave, there’ll be no one to take care of these flowers, and they’ll die.’

’What should I do? It’ll hurt to leave them behind.’

Thinking of this, Ivy Tanner’s happy mood vanished in an instant, replaced by a wave of sadness.

’So this is what it feels like to be getting married off.’
