I Married the President

Chapter 627: Chapter 627: Such a Smooth Operator

Listening to her colleagues’ gullible chatter, Claire Sinclair chuckled to herself. Outwardly, however, she feigned relief. ”It’s fine. Let’s all get back to work. Teacher Hartwell isn’t here, so we can’t afford to slack off.”

Seeing her act this way, the others didn’t say anything more.

Claire Sinclair returned to her desk, took out her phone, and logged onto Weibo. She published a post: ”They’re letting any piece of trash into the newspaper office these days. So what if you have a sugar daddy backing you? From now on, anyone who doesn’t pull their weight can forget about joining the Astoria Daily. The Astoria Daily doesn’t hire slackers!”

At the same time, Theo Rhodes also published a new Weibo post: ”You want this young master to serve you? Who the hell do you think you are? Piss off.”

Of course, Theo Rhodes’s Weibo account didn’t have many followers at the moment.

However, sharp-eyed netizens quickly dug through Claire Sinclair’s old posts and found the name of this ”piece of trash”—her newest little apprentice. Some helpful fans even found his Weibo account.

After a few hours of brewing, Theo Rhodes’s Weibo was overrun by Claire Sinclair’s fans, who flooded it with thousands of hateful comments.

Theo Rhodes complained to her on WeChat: ”Master, your rabid fans are terrifying. I feel like crying.”

Claire Sinclair sent him a hug emoji and consoled him: ”It’s fine. Just curse them back. We have to keep this up for a few more days.”

Theo Rhodes: ”Master, will I ever be able to clear my name after this?”

Claire: ”It’s better if you can’t. That way, you can carry out any future missions openly.”

Theo Rhodes: ”You got it, Master. Remember to call me for any future missions, and don’t forget to pay me on time. Otherwise, I’ll go tell on you to Uncle Hartwell.”

Claire: ”...”

’This kid... He’s a slick operator.’

Theo Rhodes: ”Hehe. Master, I’m heading out to have some fun. I’ll send you a news story in a bit.”

’Huh?’

Claire Sinclair suddenly had a bad feeling...

「Two hours later.」

A piece of news titled ”23-Million-Dollar Supercar Loses Control and Crashes into Tree” was posted on the Astoria Daily’s official Weibo account.

Even though she had verbally ”fired” that kid Theo, he still had the username and password for the Astoria Daily’s Weibo account on his phone, so he could post news from the official account whenever he wanted.

A photo of the 23-million-dollar supercar with its front end smashed was posted. The kid was smart; he didn’t show the owner’s face, but he did reveal the owner’s identity—none other than Theo Rhodes himself.

As for the author of the article, he had put down Bonnie Yates’s name.

’That damn brat, what is he trying to do?!’

Claire Sinclair went back on WeChat and asked him: ”What are you trying to do?”

Theo Rhodes: ”Showing off my wealth.”

Claire: ”You...”

Theo Rhodes: ”Master, I have several cars like this in my garage. It’s no big deal. Besides, I can’t even drive this one in the country. I regretted buying it as soon as I got it, so I don’t feel bad about crashing it.”

Claire: ”You’re insane.”

Theo Rhodes: ”Master, actually, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you.”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow and immediately asked him: ”What is it?”

Theo Rhodes: ”I started my own cool car club. Someone in the WeChat group let it slip that his cousin went into the Woodforest Community, bought a five-million-dollar sports car after he came out, went in again a few days later, and was never seen again. His car was taken, too. This happened six months ago.” ℯℯ𝑙.

Claire Sinclair asked: ”What’s this person’s background?”

Theo Rhodes: ”Just a regular nobody. No real job. He usually worked as a driver or designated driver for people, the kind of guy who would immediately gamble away any money he made.”

Claire: ”Can you confirm that this person went into the Woodforest Community?”

Theo Rhodes: ”I’ve seen the video. The guy definitely went in.”

Claire: ”In that case, the ghost in the Woodforest Community might be one that eats people.”
