BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

After fully absorbing the Bone Chilling Flame, Liu Xi could clearly feel that his control over flames had reached an entirely new height. His Qi Method, the Nine Nether Flame Suppressing Technique, had finally advanced into a genuine Low Tian Class Qi Method.

In just a short span, he had drawn enough energy from the vast sea of fire within the heavens—guided by the Dou Saint Marrow—to push his strength smoothly to the level of a 4-Turn Dou Zun.

Whatever happened beyond the Star Region was of no concern to him. Liu Xi had no intention of ending his seclusion yet, for his eyes were now fixed upon the Soul Essence.

Compared to that immense sphere of Soul Essence, his own soul form appeared much smaller and more delicate. Yet without hesitation, Liu Xi’s soul plunged straight into the glowing orb.

The pure and crystalline Soul Essence enveloped him entirely, like an endless current of warmth and clarity. That boundless ocean of Spiritual Power merged into his being, and Liu Xi could feel an unprecedented serenity spreading through every fiber of his existence. His soul began to transform once more, evolving rapidly under the fusion’s momentum.

The silent expanse of the Star Region shimmered under the fall of starlight. The violet sea of fire roared and surged while Liu Xi sat suspended between heaven and earth, surrounded by a faint and sacred radiance.

In a realm beyond mortal sight, a soul domain began to form. It expanded outward, covering the entire Star Region, even threatening to spill beyond its boundaries. But a thin layer of space kept it confined.

Still, when the people of Holy Pill City raised their eyes toward the sky, they felt a strange, invisible pressure descend upon their hearts.

Only those with profound Spiritual Power could sense faint traces of what was happening—an immense and overwhelming soul presence, vast as mountains and deep as the ocean.

High atop the Pill Tower, Xuan Kongzi and Tian Leizi stood side by side, gazing toward the distant Star Region. Their eyes carried both awe and melancholy. Having helped construct the Star Region themselves, they could feel the changes within more keenly than anyone.

Xuan Kongzi sighed softly, his voice a mixture of pride and envy. ”Only a few short years, and that boy has already surpassed us both. I knew he’d catch up eventually… but I never imagined it would be this soon.”

Tian Leizi’s stern expression remained unchanged, yet a hint of admiration flickered in his eyes. ”That’s the power of a Heaven Realm Soul. Only someone at that realm can create a true Soul Domain. Among us, only Yao Chen has reached it before—both you and I are still a step away.”

Xuan Kongzi nodded faintly. ”This kid must have gained such progress after absorbing Yao Chen’s Bone Chilling Flame. He’s reckless—first the Three Thousand Burning Flame, now this. No one else would dare. Anyone else would’ve been blown to ashes long ago. And using a Soul Infant Fruit in exchange? No wonder Yao Chen was furious.”

He chuckled helplessly, shaking his head. The situation put him in an impossible position—caught between an old friend and the Pill Tower’s newest Giant, he could only pretend ignorance.

Tian Leizi laughed as well. ”In the end, both sides benefited. Yao Chen regained his Soul and broke through to the Heaven Realm. You even refined a body for him, giving him the strength of a High-Level Half Saint. A month ago, near the Falling Star Pavilion, he wounded three of the Hall of Souls’ Tianzuns and killed four more. That news alone lifted morale across the continent.”

Xuan Kongzi’s face darkened slightly. ”That revival wasn’t perfect. Though he seems radiant now, he’s still walking a blade’s edge. If the Hall of Souls’ First Tianzun or one of their Vice Hall Masters makes a move, not even Yao Chen will survive. Unless…”

He paused, thoughtful. ”Unless some powerful allies intervene.”

They both fell silent. Against the colossal might of the Hall of Souls, even the Pill Tower had long been forced into a defensive position—never able to truly destroy their foe.

Xuan Kongzi’s gaze drifted toward the horizon as he recalled a memory. ”That mysterious Ancient Clan expert who appeared during the last rescue… Xiao Yan is of the Xiao Clan, and he seems tied to the Gu Clan. Perhaps they’ll lend aid.”

Tian Leizi chuckled. ”Who can say? Still, with the Falling Star Pavilion now standing as the banner of resistance, and Yao Chen’s newfound fame as the Medicine Sovereign, perhaps even the First Elder might be swayed.”

Xuan Kongzi gave a weary smile. ”It’s difficult. Too many in the Tower still blame me and Yao Chen for Xuan Yi’s death, and the loss of several elders who were close to Pill Tower. The resentment runs deep.”

Both men fell quiet, grief flickering across their faces as they remembered their fallen comrade.

Finally, Xuan Kongzi spoke again, his voice heavy. ”Enough talk. I’ve been shaken enough for one day. If I can’t break into the Heaven Realm Soul soon, I might as well give up this Giant’s seat.”

”Then I’ll join you,” Tian Leizi said dryly. ”Apparently, even the Pill Tower’s top positions aren’t safe from internal competition these days.”

Both laughed softly as they turned away and vanished into the distance.

Back within the Star Region, Liu Xi was oblivious to all that transpired. He floated amidst the warmth of the Soul Essence, immersed in its vast ocean, his soul growing ever more radiant and resilient.

Time lost meaning. He couldn’t tell how long had passed—only that his soul had long since reached the Mid Heaven Realm. Yet even then, the reservoir of Soul Essence around him remained immense.

Absorbing it further, he used his Heavenly Flame to refine and temper the influx, propelling his Spiritual Power upward toward the Late Heaven Realm at breathtaking speed.

On the entire continent, the number of individuals with Late Heaven Realm souls could be counted on one hand. With just his Spiritual Power alone, Liu Xi could now contend head-on with a Low-Level Dou Saint.

At last, the vast sphere of Soul Essence thinned to a mere translucent shell, wrapping lightly around Liu Xi’s soul form like a crystalline film. The entire Star Region was engulfed by his Soul Domain—every starbeam, every wisp of flame, every ripple of space now moved under his will.

Crack!

The sound of shattering crystal echoed across the void. Liu Xi’s eyes snapped open as his Spiritual Power exploded outward, tearing through the crystalline barrier. The entire Star Region quaked violently, space folding and distorting as if the world itself were about to collapse.

Above Holy Pill City, the once-clear sky rippled like water, distorting as though the heavens themselves might fracture.

Instantly, Xuan Kongzi, Tian Leizi, and more than a dozen elders appeared high above the city. Their combined auras surged forth, blanketing the sky in pressure.

Then—just as quickly—the tremors ceased. The sky cleared, returning to pristine calm as if nothing had ever occurred.

Xuan Kongzi’s brows furrowed, then relaxed. With a wry smile, he folded his hands behind his back and muttered, ”That boy can’t even break through quietly. The disturbance he caused just now… it was bigger than when I advanced to Half Saint.”

Tian Leizi exhaled with a faint chuckle. ”We built that Star Region together, you and I—and even the Three Thousand Burning Flame couldn’t break free of it. But apparently, Liu Xi can.”

Xuan Kongzi waved his sleeve. ”It’s fine. Disperse—this wasn’t an enemy attack.”

The assembled elders bowed and retreated, leaving the calm night sky above the city once more unbroken.
