BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Being able to rescue Yao Chen smoothly was already a blessing within misfortune. Yet the current situation was far from optimistic — one wrong step and everything would be lost.

Gu You was holding back the strongest four led by Xuan Kongzi, but the remaining Dou Zun were struggling against the relentless assault from the Hall of Souls’ Dou Zuns.

Deaths had already begun. Of the seventeen Dou Zuns who set out, only thirteen remained — including Xiao Yan.

”Jie jie, die!” A Hall of Souls Dou Zun sneered viciously, swinging his Soul Chain. The black chain lashed out like a venomous python.

Puchi!

A black-robed Dou Zun was pierced clean through the chest. His hands gripped the chain, eyes wide with disbelief — but the next instant, his expression twisted into a ferocious grin.

Gathering what little Dou Qi he had left, he detonated his own Dou Qi within his dantian. There was no retreat — if he had to die, then he would die taking his enemy with him. That way, he would fail neither his benefactors nor his sect.

As long as his identity was unknown, the sect behind him would remain safe.

With that thought, the black-robed Dou Zun let out a crazed laugh and self-destructed. With a thunderous boom, both he and his opponent were blown apart, one dead and the other gravely wounded.

The remaining black-robed figures felt fury and sorrow twist in their chests, but none dared shout his name. They could only unleash their Dou Qi to the limit, fighting with desperate ferocity to slaughter every Hall of Souls Dou Zun before them.

But the Hall of Souls Dou Zuns were not afraid — instead, they grinned wickedly as they charged forward. With the First Tianzun and Second Tianzun overseeing the battle, these black-robed fighters were nothing more than meat on a chopping block.

The black chains tangled endlessly, tightening the noose on the surviving Dou Zuns. There were no cries or curses left — only the sound of life-and-death struggle.

Even so, one after another, the remaining seven Dou Zuns fell — either grievously wounded, killed outright, or choosing to self-detonate.

Venerable Jian was covered in blood and wounds. He reached up and pulled off his hood, revealing a calm yet nostalgic smile on his normally cold face.

”I owed you my life back then. You gave me the chance to avenge my hatred — today, I’ll return that life to you.”

As his words fell, an aura of ruthless, unfeeling sword intent erupted from his body. The terrifying sword momentum surged upward, sharp and merciless.

He struck. Countless sword shadows streaked through the void, enveloping three nearby Hall of Souls Dou Zuns. Even while fighting three at once, he still held the upper hand.

Not far away, Venerable Feng turned his head away, unwilling to watch. He knew this technique — the forbidden Self-Sacrificing Sword. Once used, even victory meant death.

”Tie Jian… he doesn’t plan to return alive.”

Cold light flared — sword shadows overlapped endlessly. The three Hall of Souls Dou Zuns were momentarily stunned. This sword-wielding man was overpowering all three of them alone, his aura rising higher and higher.

”Stay steady! Don’t panic! We can win!” one Hall of Souls Dou Zun shouted. ”His secret technique won’t last — once his strength fades, he’ll die without a grave!”

The other two nodded grimly, channeling Dou Qi into their Soul Chains for defense, faces twisted with murderous intent. They would make Tie Jian regret ever raising his blade.

”Wait for me to weaken?” Tie Jian smiled faintly. As his aura rose, the pressure on his body grew unbearable.

But he would never weaken. When his aura reached its peak — that would be the moment of his death.

His heavy sword cleaved through the air, forcing the three Hall of Souls Dou Zuns into a desperate retreat.

Both sides waited — the Hall of Souls for his decline, Tie Jian for his limit.

Moments later, Tie Jian’s aura reached its absolute peak. Knowing he would die the next instant, he unleashed his final, strongest strike.

”Die!”

A brilliant flash tore through the sky. For an instant, all was silent. His sword had pierced through one enemy’s chest, shredding his organs into pulp.

The other two Hall of Souls Dou Zuns were left bleeding with deep gashes across their bodies, faces frozen in disbelief — as though refusing to accept defeat.

Venerable Jian smiled freely, blood spilling from his lips. His aura vanished as he collapsed, dying with that same peaceful smile.

”Violent Storm!”

Two massive wind cyclones roared forth, forcing the wounded Hall of Souls Dou Zuns back. Venerable Feng arrived, eyes dark as he looked upon Tie Jian’s lifeless body. He scanned the battlefield — he was the last one still standing.

”Haha… old friend, if we all die and still fail to save you, then I guess I’ll just come join you myself.”

After collecting Tie Jian’s body, Venerable Feng roared, unleashing a storm of Dou Qi as he charged the nearest foes. Yet even with his fury, he was being steadily pushed back.

High above, Gu You battled ferociously. As a Peak Half Saint, he was far beyond the four Nine Turn Dou Zuns. Zhao Xian, one of Xuan Kongzi’s invited allies — a 2-Turn Dou Zun — had already fallen to Gu You’s hands.

”Foolish mortals. Today is your day of death!”

Gu You’s eerie voice hissed through the air as he slammed his palm forward, sending Qin Feng flying. With a sweep of his bone staff, he shattered space itself to block Xuan Kongzi’s path.

Then, with a wicked grin, he stepped through the rift, appearing before Xuan Yi in an instant. Before she could react, his claw tore through her Dou Qi barrier, Spiritual defense, and even her soft armor — piercing her chest clean through. He crushed her still-beating heart in his hand, blood splattering like rain.

”Cough… So you’re Xuan Yi, huh? To think the famed beauty and Pill Tower Giant herself would dare invade the Hall of Souls. Today, your brilliance ends here!”

Gu You laughed cruelly, coughing twice afterward — her final soul technique had left him slightly injured, but it was a small price. Killing a Pill Tower Giant was an unprecedented blow to their prestige.

Xuan Yi felt the searing pain in her chest. Blood trickled from her lips as a faint, sorrowful smile appeared. Her life was fading rapidly; she could no longer speak.

’In the end… I still couldn’t see you again. If only… you hadn’t rejected me back then…’

Her eyes closed — and she was gone.

”Gu You!”

Xuan Kongzi’s eyes turned crimson, veins bulging as Dou Qi surged wildly through his body. His aura climbed to another peak, faint ripples of strange power flickering around him, though he was too enraged to notice.

”Ah! Gu You, die!”

The loss of Xuan Yi struck not only Xuan Kongzi but Qin Feng as well. He remembered that charming smile from years ago — the moment he’d fallen in love, never to forget her again.

Gu You hadn’t merely slain Xuan Yi — he had shattered her soul entirely, leaving no trace behind. On the Dou Qi Continent, the boundary between life and death was faint… but this was true annihilation.

”An ant shaking a tree — overestimating yourself! Nether Hundred Palms!”

Black mist erupted from Gu You’s body. With each motion of his hands, hundreds of dark palm prints shot forth, sealing all paths of attack and retreat around Qin Feng.

”Endless Thunderstorm!”

Qin Feng’s body blazed with lightning, thunder roaring around him like a wrathful god. ”Die!” he roared, charging forward.

Puchi!

Qin Feng was strong — but Gu You was stronger. He shattered three palm prints, then five, then ten — but hundreds remained. Each one struck like a hammer. Blood sprayed from his mouth as he was sent crashing backward.

At that moment, Xiao Yan finally emerged from the hall — only to witness the carnage before him. His eyes turned blood-red as he roared, ”Everyone, retreat!”
