Apocalypse Descends: I Win Effortlessly by Turning Trash into Treasure

As for the price, both four-star and five-star cards cost one one-star card per day to rent.

Perry Yates had started this rental service purely because she felt that not many people could afford these cards outright. Rather than letting them gather dust in her warehouse, she might as well use them to earn some extra cash.

She hadn’t expected to make much, but to her surprise, the Healing Wand and the Any Door were rented out in less than ten minutes—and for a full month at that.

The only ones who could afford such an extravagant expense had to be the Survival Game Administration.

They also tactfully inquired about renting the Golden Spirit Illusion Feather, saying they’d be willing to rent it for a full year if possible.

But Perry Yates turned them down. She had a use for the Golden Spirit Illusion Feather for the time being.

Meanwhile, after several hours of searching, Perry Yates finally found the cards she was looking for.

’Sigh. Sometimes, having too many cards isn’t a good thing.’

Perry Yates looked at the cards she had casually tossed aside in dissatisfaction, sighing helplessly. ’Looks like I’ll have to trouble the butler again.’

This time, Perry Yates had selected a total of three cards. The first was a pair of two-star earrings shaped like silver crosses, encrusted with what looked like diamonds. They were incredibly sparkly.

This item could weaken the wearer’s presence. As long as you didn’t actively reveal yourself, people around you would subconsciously ignore you.

Next was a two-star bracelet that looked very similar to the cheap ones sold online for a few dollars. It was a string of colorful beads and looked quite pretty.

This item could warn of danger, a bit like Spider-Man’s spider-sense.

The final card was a one-star card: a set of nude-colored press-on nails. They had no decorations and looked very ordinary.

But this set of press-on nails could secrete a sedative and could also retract and extend at will, serving as sharp blades.

After spending some time, Perry Yates performed Ascension on these three cards, raising them all to four stars.

Now, the cross earrings could not only reduce the user’s presence but also blur their impression in others’ minds, making it difficult for people to feel hostile toward the wearer.

Of course, if someone already had strong subjective killing intent towards her, the effect would be greatly diminished.

With this item, the Cat Face Mask could be honorably retired.

Along with the Cat Face Mask, the Spider Armor was also being retired, replaced by the nude-colored press-on nails.

After Ascension to four stars, the press-on nails could secrete any venom she desired and could also serve as weapons.

Perry Yates had already tested them; they were incredibly sharp, capable of easily cutting through diamond and leaving a perfectly smooth surface.

Finally, there was the bracelet. After Ascension to four stars, it could not only provide foreknowledge of danger but also sense a person’s malice toward her.

After putting on the three pieces of jewelry, Perry Yates stretched lazily.

The Ascension of these three cards had taken her a full three days.

Because the Knowledge Crystal had said the game could start at any moment, Perry Yates had been in a state of nervous tension throughout the process, afraid the game would suddenly begin without any warning.

Fortunately, the entire process went smoothly, with no unexpected incidents.

Still, she couldn’t let her guard down. Now, Perry Yates didn’t even dare to take off her clothes to sleep, and her showers were lightning-fast, terrified the game would launch a surprise attack on her.

A few more days passed with no sign of the game starting. Perry Yates went to the top floor, harvested this month’s Holy Girl Fruits, and then put them up for sale.

After several consecutive days of peace, Perry Yates’s mindset became much calmer.

Although her custom card service had been suspended, her dealings with the Survival Game Administration had not.

And just like that, because Perry Yates had previously stated that the Super Gene Mutation Card couldn’t be traded again for a short while, the Survival Game Administration had now set its sights on the Alien Gene Card.

Perry Yates looked at Sylas Sawyer, who had come to find her, and confirmed again, ”Are you sure you want this many Alien Gene Cards?”

Sylas Sawyer nodded. ”We’re sure.”

After getting a firm answer, Perry Yates propped an elbow on the table, rested her chin in her hand, and simply watched Sylas Sawyer with a grin, making his hair stand on end.

”Boss, why are you looking at me like that?”

Sylas Sawyer shrank back, looking like a virtuous damsel being harassed.

’The expert team at the Survival Game Administration had analyzed before that the bar owner wasn’t very old. Could she really be interested in me?’

’Actually... that wouldn’t be so bad.’

However, his fantasy was shattered in the very next second.

He heard Perry Yates say in a mild tone, ”I just think the Survival Game Administration must be loaded. A thousand Alien Gene Cards, just like that. It suddenly occurred to me that I’ve set my prices too low.”

”Butler, what do you think about us raising the card prices a little?”

Perry Yates turned and asked with a grin at the butler who had come to bring her juice.

A faint smile on his face, the butler replied, ”If we are to raise the price, I would suggest an increase of fifty percent...”

”Hey, hey! That’s so unfair! How can you just raise prices whenever you want? That’s fraud! Be careful, or I’ll report you to the consumer council!”

”Wow, I’m so scared.”

Perry Yates shrugged with a laugh, then got back to the point. ”One thousand cards is no problem. You can pick them up anytime. Also, I have some other nice things here. I wonder if the Survival Game Administration might be interested?”

Hearing Perry Yates say this, Sylas Sawyer was immediately interested.

”If you’re calling them nice things, Boss, then they must be nice things. Of course I’m interested.”

Following Perry Yates’s lead, Sylas Sawyer was brought to a room on the second floor.

Upon entering, Sylas Sawyer was quickly stunned by the items displayed inside.

The room was filled with all sorts of equipment crafted from metal: wings, armor, weapons, and more.

”These are...?”

Sylas Sawyer turned to Perry Yates, hoping for an answer.

”You should know that the game I just went through had Xenomorphs. These were stripped from them and refined into what you see now.”

”You can think of this equipment as bio-weapons. Although they’re made of metal, they can be directly equipped and controlled by a person. Like this.”

Perry Yates walked over to a giant scythe, which had been refined from the dual blades of a mantis Xenomorph.

The moment Perry Yates’s hand touched the scythe, it merged with her arm. Then, as if controlling her own limb, she wielded the scythe with complete freedom.

”Can ordinary people use these too?” Sylas Sawyer asked.

”Of course.”
