Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1947: Chapter 1946: Accompanying Her into the Delivery Room

As soon as Qiao Xiuyun got out of the car, she saw Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen waiting there. She quickly walked up and anxiously asked, ”Ranran, has Xiaoxiao arrived?”

”Aunt Qiao, don’t worry. Luo Haofeng has already accompanied Xiaoxiao into the hospital.”

Wen Ran gently comforted Qiao Xiuyun.

”Then let’s hurry inside. How could Xiaoxiao suddenly go into labor like this, so many days early?”

Qiao Xiuyun was clearly puzzled as well. According to the normal due date, there were still about twenty days left.

When Xiaoxiao went out this afternoon, she was still fine. If I had known, I should have accompanied her.

Wen Ran nodded, knowing that Qiao Xiuyun was very worried. She said to Gu Kai and Mo Xiuchen, ”Brother, Xiuchen, I’ll go in with Aunt Qiao first.”

”Ranran, do you know why Luo Haofeng is with Xiaoxiao?”

As Qiao Xiuyun and Wen Ran entered the hospital, Qiao Xiuyun asked.

”Aunt Qiao, I don’t know either. I only know that Luo Haofeng came to G City on a business trip some days ago, but he hadn’t gone to see Xiaoxiao. Maybe it was just a coincidence that he ran into her today!”

”I hope so. Since he’s with another woman now, I don’t want him disturbing Xiaoxiao anymore.”

Qiao Xiuyun furrowed her brows. In her heart, Xiaoxiao was everything.

She didn’t wish for her daughter to suffer any harm whatsoever, especially considering Luo Haofeng now had another woman.

Between Xiaoxiao and him, there should be no more entanglement.

Luo Haofeng supported Bai Xiaoxiao into the elevator, wrapping her entirely in his arms and letting her lean all her weight against him.

Seeing her holding her abdomen with one hand, he also reached out with one hand, covering hers on her abdomen, gently and repeatedly comforting her, ”Xiaoxiao, cry out if it hurts.”

”Bear it if you can; the more you cry, the less strength you’ll have.”

The obstetrics director on the side chimed in, coolly interrupting Luo Haofeng’s words.

Luo Haofeng’s expression stiffened slightly. Bai Xiaoxiao looked up, softly saying to him, ”I can bear it.”

”Doctor, how long does it usually take to give birth?”

Luo Haofeng looked at Bai Xiaoxiao’s painful expression with heartache, asking the obstetrics director standing nearby.

The other had grown accustomed to the nervousness of mothers and their families, answering blandly, ”It varies from person to person how long it takes to give birth.”

”Can’t it be faster? She’s hurting so much, can’t she go into the delivery room immediately?”

The elevator dinged, and as the doors opened, Luo Haofeng supported Bai Xiaoxiao out while asking.

”We need to check how many fingers the cervix has dilated first. It’s not a matter of saying she can deliver immediately; if the cervix hasn’t dilated, there’s no point in entering the delivery room.”

”...”

Bai Xiaoxiao abruptly tightened her grip on Luo Haofeng’s hand, causing Luo Haofeng’s breath to hitch.

He nervously called out, ”Xiaoxiao.”

Then turned to the doctor, saying, ”Check her quickly, and isn’t there a painless labor epidural? Quickly give her a shot.”

”Don’t rush. I’ve said, rushing doesn’t help in childbirth, and the epidural doesn’t guarantee no pain; its effect varies based on different constitutions...”

Because Luo Haofeng was a good friend of Gu Kai, the obstetrics director explained more thoroughly to him.

After the explanation, she instructed the nurse to help Bai Xiaoxiao into the delivery room for a cervical dilation check.

”Wait outside first, don’t go in.”

Luo Haofeng wanted to follow but was stopped by a nurse.

Luo Haofeng’s face darkened, ”I’m going to stay with Xiaoxiao.”

”Well, alright, but you need to change your clothes.”

The nurse hesitated for a moment, possibly intimidated by the cold aura emanating from Luo Haofeng, and stepped aside to let him in.

On the birthing bed, as Bai Xiaoxiao just lay down, the obstetrics director instructed her to remove her pants for examination.

Bai Xiaoxiao, in great pain, didn’t want to let go of her abdomen. As she looked up, she saw Luo Haofeng walking in.

Her face flashed a trace of embarrassment, and just as she was about to tell him to leave, the obstetrics director in a sterile gown unexpectedly instructed Luo Haofeng, ”Mr. Luo, she’s in distress now, you help her take them off.”

”Okay.”

Luo Haofeng hesitated for half a second, then immediately nodded, quickly coming to Bai Xiaoxiao’s side.

”You should leave, I can... do it myself.”

”Xiaoxiao, I’m here with you.”

Luo Haofeng reached out to hold Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand, his voice low and firm.

As he spoke, he moved to help her take off her pants to be examined.

Bai Xiaoxiao wanted to refuse, but Luo Haofeng was strong and resolute, beyond her ability to refuse.

Subconsciously, Bai Xiaoxiao actually hoped Luo Haofeng would stay by her side; before this, she believed she could give birth alone.

Without the need for Luo Haofeng’s company.

However, when wave after wave of pain swept through, Bai Xiaoxiao, exhausted body and soul, desperately craved someone to be with her.

And this person, of course, was the one she loved in her heart, the father of her child.

At this moment, Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t want to think about Luo Haofeng already having a girlfriend, didn’t want to care about what relationship they had; she just wanted him to be there.

At a moment when she was in unbearable pain, she would be able to look up and see him.

Eventually, Bai Xiaoxiao gave up the idea of sending Luo Haofeng away, accepting the doctor’s examination with his help.

All the embarrassment, she forcibly pressed to the bottom of her heart.

While the doctor was examining her, Luo Haofeng didn’t leave but stood by Bai Xiaoxiao’s side, his long and narrow eyes intensely gazing at her, his clearly jointed hands tightly holding her small ones.

Conveying strength and courage to her.

”Squeeze me if it hurts.”

This phrase, throughout the process, Luo Haofeng said countless times.

Bai Xiaoxiao sometimes squeezed tightly; each wave of pain made her grip harder, but it was only tight grips, not enough to injure him.

On the contrary, her other hand, almost bled from her own grip.

Standing on one side, Luo Haofeng couldn’t grasp both of her hands, nor could he stop Bai Xiaoxiao’s lips-biting actions.

But as he watched her growing pain, his heart ached more and more.

Because the first check showed only a one-finger dilation, neither an injection nor delivery was possible yet.

The doctor then left the delivery room in succession, leaving only Luo Haofeng in front of the birthing bed.

Feeling Bai Xiaoxiao’s sudden tightening grip, Luo Haofeng’s heart sharply ached, and after a moment’s hesitation, he bent down, his warm, thin lips gently kissing Bai Xiaoxiao’s forehead.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s pain-stricken body suddenly stiffened.

Her watery eyes, already foggy from pain, suddenly widened.

She looked in disbelief at Luo Haofeng kissing her forehead.

Luo Haofeng didn’t leave after that gentle kiss but kept his thin lips against her forehead, his fresh masculine breath spraying across her nose.

He tenderly called her name, ”Xiaoxiao.”

A wave of emotion rose in Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart. She could hear the tenderness and worry in Luo Haofeng’s voice; he would rather bear this pain for her than see her suffer so.

Understanding this, Bai Xiaoxiao felt a warmness in her eyes, almost shedding tears.
