Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1915: Chapter 1914: The Baby’s Gender

Bai Xiaoxiao silently finished the pastry in her hand, took a sip of milk, and then raised her eyes to meet Mother Bai’s concerned gaze.

She said calmly, ”Mom, I’ll seriously consider what you said.”

Mother Bai’s face flashed a hint of surprise but didn’t expect Xiaoxiao to be so agreeable.

With her thoughts slightly turned, she smiled and said, ”It’s enough that you think it over carefully. Don’t push yourself too hard.”

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded.

Mother Bai picked up another piece of pastry and handed it to her, then stood up, ”Take your time eating. I’m going back to my room to take a shower.”

As soon as Mother Bai returned to the room, Mr. Bai immediately inquired, ”So, did you tell Xiaoxiao that the pastries were bought by Luo Haofeng?”

”I told her, and I think she seems less upset now.”

”Looks like their meeting this afternoon had some effect. Luo Haofeng will stay in G City for a few days; Xiaoxiao will slowly open up.”

”I hope so. I really don’t want Xiaoxiao to go through childbirth without Luo Haofeng by her side.”

Mother Bai is experienced; she deeply understands that women are the most vulnerable and need the most company when giving birth.

She’s now completely at peace, as long as one can live happily, what do grudges and hatred matter? They are not important.

Mr. Bai noticed Mother Bai’s feelings and gently patted her hand, soothingly saying, ”Xiuyun, our daughter is so smart, she will definitely open her heart.”

Luo Haofeng promised Bai Xiaoxiao he wouldn’t show up downstairs at her house in the middle of the night.

That night, he indeed did not appear. When Xiaoxiao got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, she specially went to the window to look downstairs.

It was dark and quiet below.

There was no familiar figure.

She secretly breathed a sigh of relief and returned to bed to continue sleeping.

The next morning, Bai Xiaoxiao got up, and the first thing she did was draw open the curtains, let the sunlight shine in, and even opened the windows to let the fragrance of flowers drift into the room, filling the whole room with aroma.

Then, she saw that familiar tall figure again.

Luo Haofeng didn’t come by car, nor was he sitting in one; he was wearing sportswear, running on the asphalt road outside the villa below her apartment.

Although this was in a prime city area, it was a luxurious villa group, with good air, and perfect for health and fitness.

As if sensing her gaze, Luo Haofeng lifted his face and looked towards her.

Their eyes met in mid-air, and Luo Haofeng’s mouth curved into a pleasant smile. He waved at her and struck a sporty pose.

Then he ran a few steps to the exercise equipment and began working out.

Bai Xiaoxiao pursed her lips, ignored Luo Haofeng’s smile, and turned to wash up.

When Bai Xiaoxiao went downstairs, her parents were both sitting in the living room on the sofa, chatting happily about something.

She was a bit preoccupied, feeling annoyed at the thought of Luo Haofeng exercising outside.

Yesterday afternoon, when Luo Haofeng left, she told him not to come running to her house in the middle of the night anymore, meaning for him not to disturb her again.

But Luo Haofeng deliberately twisted her words, saying he wouldn’t come at night but would come in the daytime.

And he really showed up this morning.

Thinking about where he lived, it wasn’t close. Could he have run all the way from his home?

Recalling that glance just now, although Luo Haofeng smiled happily upon seeing her, he seemed somewhat out of breath.

If he hadn’t just arrived at her house without having taken a break, he must’ve been running continuously without resting.

”Xiaoxiao, I was just about to go upstairs to call you for breakfast, wasn’t expecting you to be up already.”

Mother Bai smiled and waved at Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao managed a small smile and walked over to sit on the sofa.

The housemaid came out from the kitchen, saying breakfast was ready.

Mr. Bai stood up with a smile, ”Xiuyun, Xiaoxiao, breakfast is ready.”

As he spoke, Mr. Bai glanced toward the balcony, seemingly nonchalantly saying, ”I was in the garden watering flowers earlier and saw Luo Haofeng seemed to be running outside. Do you think we should invite him in for breakfast?”

Mother Bai smiled without saying a word, using her eyes to ask Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s face showed a hint of displeasure, ”Why invite him?”

”I’m just casually suggesting. If Xiaoxiao doesn’t want to see him, then forget it. It doesn’t affect us whether or not he’s had breakfast.”

At that, Mr. Bai reached out and took Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand, ”This morning, the breakfast is all your favorites. Don’t be upset, have some more.”

At the breakfast table, Mr. Bai didn’t mention Luo Haofeng anymore.

Instead, he asked Bai Xiaoxiao if she had any plans for the day. Bai Xiaoxiao shook her head and said she had plans to relax at home.

”Xiaoxiao, you’re still so young. You shouldn’t be cooped up at home all the time. Weekends are for relaxing. How about letting your mom accompany you for shopping?”

Hearing Mr. Bai say this, Mother Bai also joined in, ”Xiaoxiao, your father is right. Staying home all day without exercising isn’t good. You already sit in the office all day without exercising. Later, I’ll accompany you to buy some clothes. Autumn is coming, and the ones you have worn before might not fit well.”

Bai Xiaoxiao pouted unhappily, ”I’m so skinny, even in two months I won’t need to wear maternity clothes.”

”That’s not going to work. Today, let your mom take you to buy a few sets, not that our family can’t afford clothes. In a few months, the baby will be born. We should gradually prepare the needed items.”

Mr. Bai was afraid of depriving their precious grandchild or granddaughter.

Mother Bai laughed, ”It’s not urgent to get baby supplies. We don’t even know if it’s a boy or girl yet. We’ll buy it after we find out the gender.”

”Isn’t that simple? Let Xiaoxiao go to the hospital for a checkup with you, then she’ll know.”

It’s not like it’s too early to tell the gender.

It’s just that they haven’t checked for gender yet.

Mother Bai casually said, ”Let’s see if Xiaoxiao wants to check the gender in advance. If she wants to, then she can go for a trip to the hospital. If not, then never mind.”

”Xiaoxiao, since you have no plans today, why not let your mom accompany you to the hospital to check if it’s a boy or a girl so we can prepare.”

Bai Xiaoxiao was somewhat tempted by her parents’ suggestion.

She originally thought about checking the baby’s gender once it could be determined.

That was her thought before going to City B to find Luo Haofeng, planning to have him accompany her to the hospital when they were there, but unexpectedly, she returned the next day.

Her slender fingers gently caressed her belly, Bai Xiaoxiao secretly wondering, would the baby be a boy or a girl?

”Xiaoxiao, if you really don’t want to go, don’t force yourself.”

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao lowering her head and lost in thought, Mother Bai smiled gently and reassured her.

Bai Xiaoxiao looked up at her mother’s warm smiling eyes and replied with a smile, ”Mom, it doesn’t really matter. Since Dad is so eager to know the baby’s gender, I’ll go for a checkup later.”
