Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1912: Chapter 1911: Silent Embrace

”Xiaoxiao, I know you’re not in a good mood right now and don’t want to see me.”

Luo Haofeng’s voice came softly through the door.

Actually, the door wasn’t locked, but without Bai Xiaoxiao’s permission, Luo Haofeng just stood outside, not pushing the door open to enter the room.

Before he came, Mo Xiuchen also reminded him that Xiaoxiao was in a special situation now and not to agitate her too much.

At the door of Bai Xiaoxiao’s house, Wen Ran again worriedly told him that Xiaoxiao was not in a good mood.

Earlier downstairs, Mother Bai also said to be more forgiving towards Xiaoxiao...

Each of their reminders was deeply remembered in Luo Haofeng’s heart. He cared more about Xiaoxiao than anyone else.

He certainly wouldn’t go to agitate Xiaoxiao or make her angry. He’d rather wrong himself.

In the face of love, he didn’t feel this was humbling, only because he deeply loved the woman inside the room. Mother Bai said Xiaoxiao just didn’t want to see him, not that she didn’t love him.

Since Xiaoxiao loved him, accompanying her outside the door should make her feel warm, right?

Thinking this way, Luo Haofeng felt a bit better, gaining a touch of confidence and courage.

He couldn’t see Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression inside the room, but his eyes held a hint of warmth because the woman he loved was just a door away.

”Xiaoxiao, don’t let those words from that woman get to you...”

”No matter what she said, just treat it like you never got her call. That’s just her own thoughts. I’ve already severed ties with her; she’s not my mother anymore.”

Bai Xiaoxiao told herself not to be moved by Luo Haofeng’s words and not to pay attention to him.

However, reason couldn’t conquer emotion. In the end, she still stood up from the sofa, barefoot, and came to the doorway.

At this moment, there was truly just a door between them.

She could almost smell that faint crisp scent seeping through the crack of the door, permeating her breath.

Getting closer, his voice became even clearer in her ears.

Word by word, it stirred waves in her heart.

She took a deep breath and suddenly opened the door. On either side of the door, two pairs of eyes collided.

Last night, because it was dark, Bai Xiaoxiao couldn’t see Luo Haofeng’s expression clearly. Now, she could see every subtle change in his expression and gaze clearly.

From shock to joy, to the longing built up over these days, and finally, all that was left was deep guilt and a hint of unease.

Because he didn’t know what Bai Xiaoxiao was about to say, whether she’d be angry and drive him away, he felt uneasy.

Yet those narrow peach blossom eyes greedily watched the woman in front of him.

The woman who should be more enchanting and fuller due to pregnancy, Bai Xiaoxiao standing before Luo Haofeng, appeared even thinner than half a month ago.

She had none of the pregnancy-related charm or gentleness in her brow, only sadness that tightened his heart.

The guilt and remorse from Luo Haofeng’s previous mindset suddenly transformed into deep heartache.

He instinctively reached out to hold Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand, but she reflexively avoided him.

Luo Haofeng’s gaze dimmed, his well-defined hand froze mid-air, yet his eyes were intently fixed on Bai Xiaoxiao, unwilling to blink even once.

The air between the two inadvertently gained a subtle nuance.

Bai Xiaoxiao avoided Luo Haofeng’s eyes filled with pity, looking down at her toes, her voice carrying a touch of stiffness through her red lips, ”Since she’s not your mom, you don’t need to apologize for her.”

A flash of pain flickered in Luo Haofeng’s eyes as he called out sorrowfully, ”Xiaoxiao.”

”Leave, whatever she said to me has nothing to do with you.”

When Bai Xiaoxiao raised her head to meet Luo Haofeng’s eyes filled with pain, her eyes only held a coolness contrary to the season.

Luo Haofeng only felt pain spreading in his heart. His tall body stood there stiffly, unwilling to leave.

Finally being able to see her, how could he leave so easily?

He looked at her intently and said gently, ”Xiaoxiao, you’ve lost weight, you should eat more now.”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s nose suddenly felt sour, instinctively turning away, not letting him see her sadness.

Luo Haofeng’s eyes tightened, and as Bai Xiaoxiao turned to leave, his hand moved unconsciously, grasping her wrist.

His long legs stepped into the room, his voice urgent, ”Xiaoxiao.”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart trembled, her body froze.

She didn’t turn back, stubbornly facing away from him, her captured wrist stiff.

Luo Haofeng’s narrow eyes were filled with swirling emotions. He stared at her intently for a moment, then with his other arm, he reached out and tightly embraced Bai Xiaoxiao from behind.

Feeling the body in his arms tremble violently, Luo Haofeng called affectionately, ”Xiaoxiao, I’ve missed you so much these days.”

Whether it was the embrace or his words saying how much he missed her, in that instant, the ice wall within Bai Xiaoxiao melted.

Waves of heat crashed like a mighty force, thrashing and surging against every nerve ending, finally spilling over and flooding her eyes.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s body remained stiff in the warmth and firmness of the man behind, while tears, uncontrollably, flowed down her face.

She could only bite her lip hard, unwilling to let the man behind perceive any of her emotional changes.

But even if he couldn’t see, how could he not feel it?

When she started to cry, Luo Haofeng could feel it.

His embrace grew tighter, restraining the urge to turn her around, just holding her tightly, so tightly.

There was a long silence in the room.

In the air, subtle elements spread, forming a net that enveloped the two standing at the doorway.

The door to the room remained open.

There was no one in the hallway, perhaps even if they embraced like this all afternoon, no one would disturb them.

One wept silently, the other embraced quietly...

Neither knew what the other was thinking.

Perhaps, at this moment, they didn’t think of anything, just indulged themselves, relishing the warmth of the moment.

In their subconscious, they knew that after this moment, they would return to being strangers, and the chasm between them was impassable.

Long after, it was still Luo Haofeng who turned Bai Xiaoxiao’s body to face him, looking at the tears on her face with heartache.

It was as if each tear became scalding iron, burning his heart.

A nameless pain spread through his chest, prompting him to raise his hand, gently reaching towards her fair cheek.
