Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1938: Chapter 1937: Your Hands Are So Cold

Bai Xiaoxiao sighed in relief and smiled gently, ”Mom, I will be fine.”

”As long as you’re fine, your dad and I will be at ease.”

Mother Bai stopped thinking about Luo Haofeng. Perhaps Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng were not meant to be. Her daughter was not lacking in any way, and she believed that as long as Xiaoxiao was willing, many men would like her.

The warm afternoon sunlight poured in through the window, filling the entire ward with the scent of sunshine.

Qiao Siyi sat calmly in a wheelchair by the window, quietly gazing outside. Her fair cheeks were bathed in warm, gentle sunlight, and there was a peacefulness in her brow and eyes.

During this period, she convinced herself to accept the fact of her disability.

In the future, she could no longer live as freely and easily as before; even walking, the most basic activity, had become a problem.

But when she thought about it, although she lost a leg, she gained a long-desired love. Luo Haofeng made her truly feel the sweetness of romance.

Even though nothing intimate happened between them.

It was limited to Luo Haofeng accompanying her for meals every day and chatting.

Qiao Siyi also felt her heart full of happiness.

Only occasionally would she feel a pang of guilt, thinking this happiness was stolen. Luo Haofeng was with her out of sympathy because she lost a leg.

Alongside her guilt, there was a slight unease, fearing that this happiness would fly away at any moment.

After all, the person in Luo Haofeng’s heart was never her. He had frankly told her at the time that except for love, he could do anything else for her.

Behind her, the special nursing assistant cut some fruit and brought it over.

Qiao Siyi glanced down at the fruit placed in front of her and calmly said, ”Please push me to Haofeng’s room. I want to eat fruit with him.”

”Okay, Miss Qiao.”

The special nursing assistant nodded with a smile, handed the fruit to Qiao Siyi, and pushed her out of the ward to Luo Haofeng’s room.

For easier care and peace of mind, Luo Haofeng’s room was next to her ward.

When the door opened, Qiao Siyi saw Luo Haofeng leaning slightly against the bed, looking out the window, with half of his handsome face bathed in warm sunlight, reflecting a shimmering sheen.

Qiao Siyi didn’t know if it was her imagination, but she felt a faint loneliness surrounding Luo Haofeng.

Even the warm sunlight on him couldn’t warm the aura around him.

”Haofeng.”

Qiao Siyi called softly. Ever since she and Luo Haofeng were no longer just superior and subordinate, her address for him changed from ’President’ to his name.

The gentle call from the doorway softly entered Luo Haofeng’s ears.

Luo Haofeng’s mind, which had wandered afar, was gradually brought back.

In his ears, alongside Qiao Siyi’s soft call, echoed another gentle, tender voice.

”Haofeng.”

The same call, the same address.

Even their voices were similarly soft and tender, but to Luo Haofeng’s ears, it was like the difference between spring and winter.

He used to love hearing Bai Xiaoxiao call him ’Haofeng,’ those two words slipping off her tongue and spilling from her red lips as if tinged with an affectionate taste, making his heart unconsciously soften.

He wanted to stay in that moment forever.

However, Qiao Siyi’s voice seemed to carry the chill of winter, each time cooling his heart.

No matter how tender or deeply affectionate her voice was, it could not warm his cold heart.

This was probably the difference between being with someone you don’t love and being with someone you do love.

Luo Haofeng deeply understood, as if the years his father spent with his mother were unbearable centuries.

If... his father’s life was also his future life.

”Haofeng, I brought you some fruit, worried you might be resting...”

Qiao Siyi was pushed in her wheelchair by the special nursing assistant to Luo Haofeng’s bedside, extended her hands, offering the fruit plate to Luo Haofeng, and said gently, ”Try some.”

Luo Haofeng composed himself, looked at the tender-eyed Qiao Siyi, and said warmly, ”You eat, I’m not interested in fruits.”

”Eating fruit is good for you. Try a little.”

Qiao Siyi insisted, looking at him with gentle eyes.

This made Luo Haofeng unable to refuse. Qiao Siyi was a very sensible, understanding girl. She, now his girlfriend, never demanded anything excessive.

Nor did she ever demand how long Luo Haofeng had to accompany her each day. Every time she saw him, she would be very happy.

Luo Haofeng forced a smile, ”Alright, I’ll have a little, you eat more.”

”I heard you started working today?”

Qiao Siyi swallowed the fruit in her mouth, asking with concern.

”The company has accumulated a lot of work, and since I’m just idle here, I can handle some of it whenever possible.”

Unlike Qiao Siyi who lost a leg, Luo Haofeng had a fractured calf, making it impossible to heal quickly.

Of course, Luo Haofeng could have been discharged long ago to recover at home.

Due to Qiao Siyi, he stayed extra days in the hospital to take care of her.

”Too bad I can’t help you now, don’t overwork yourself.”

Qiao Siyi showed her care and concern for Luo Haofeng without holding back.

After talking for a while, Qiao Siyi suddenly sneezed, making Luo Haofeng frown, his gaze sweeping over her thin hospital gown, and asked with concern, ”Did you catch a cold? Although it’s sunny, the temperature isn’t high.”

”I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Qiao Siyi’s heart warmed, shaking her head to reassure him.

Seeing the remaining half of the fruit on her plate, Luo Haofeng reached out, moved it to the small table beside them, and said, ”The fruit is cold, don’t eat it now.”

”...”

Qiao Siyi blinked, nodding obediently.

After placing the fruit plate on the small table, Luo Haofeng also took Qiao Siyi’s hand, frowned, and said, ”Your hand is cold as well.”

With that, he looked up and instructed the special nursing assistant standing behind Qiao Siyi, ”Go to the next ward and bring a coat.”

”Yes, Mr. Luo.”

The assistant smiled and left the ward.

With Luo Haofeng holding her hand, a blush crept onto Qiao Siyi’s fair cheeks.

Her heartbeat quickened as the warmth from his palm entered her heart, becoming chaotic, and her gaze at Luo Haofeng was filled with increasing tenderness.

Luo Haofeng lifted a corner of the blanket and placed Qiao Siyi’s hand inside.

He didn’t notice Qiao Siyi’s cheeks reddening from his actions, nor did he know about the fluttering in her heart.

It seemed he was just fulfilling the promise he made to her initially, to take good care of her, with no other intentions.
