Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1141: 1140 quickly call godmother

Mo Xiuchen watched her lip-pressing gesture, a touch of gloom flashing through the depths of his eyes. He lifted his hand, his long fingers gently caressing her cheek, “Ranran, I’m leaving now.”

“Go ahead, don’t keep my dad and Mayor Chen waiting,” Wen Ran said, smiling as she urged him on.

Mo Xiuchen also smiled, bending down to peck her on the lips before letting her go and striding out of the hospital room.

Wen Ran turned her head to watch the door close, then she crouched down, her hands resting on the baby crib’s rail, focusing on the two familiar little sleeping faces in it.

Before becoming pregnant, she had simply thought about having a son and a daughter for Mo Xiuchen, to make up for their unhappy childhoods, believing that watching their children grow up would be the happiest thing in the world and the most romantic love between them.

From the day she learned she was pregnant, Wen Ran wasn’t just thinking of having children for Mo Xiuchen. Her maternal instincts were awakened. With every day of morning sickness, fetal movement, and prenatal care, she grew increasingly aware that she was a mother.

Having given birth to Ziyi and Momo, she felt her heart brim with pride and happiness, along with an overflowing love, a feeling so profound that she couldn’t express it in words.

Even giving the babies the very best of the world wasn’t enough. A few days ago, the moment Momo went missing, she felt an agonizing pain as if her heart was being gouged out.

Now, with her babies safely back, her heart filled with love and joy as she watched them.

As she watched, her eyes inexplicably moistened.

It wasn’t sorrow but emotion, the joy of regaining what was once lost.

It wasn’t until Xiaoxiao, Anlin, and Fang Zhiwei entered, pushing the door open from the outside, that their voices brought Wen Ran back from her own world to reality.

“Ranran, why are you crying?”

Xiaoxiao noticed Wen Ran’s eyes were red and immediately furrowed her brow, asking with concern.

Wen Ran shook her head and pulled up a smile, saying, “I’m happy, Momo is finally back safely, I’m just so happy.” She finished, turning to Fang Zhiwei, “Sister Wei, I heard from Xiaoxiao this morning, Momo came back so quickly thanks to you. On the way back just now, Mo Xiuchen also told me, thank you.”

Fang Zhiwei took Wen Ran’s hand and apologized, “Ranran, don’t thank me, Momo was handed over to the bad guys because of me, I hate myself for it. That Momo came back safely, and you and Ah Kai, that none of you blame me, I’m already grateful for that, I don’t dare accept your thanks.”

“Those are two separate issues, there’s nothing you shouldn’t accept,” Wen Ran said with a brilliant smile lighting up her face, dispelling all the sorrow and sadness of recent days.

Seeing her radiant smile, Zhi Wei smiled too, with Xiaoxiao and Anlin also revealing relieved smiles at their side.

For a time, the hospital room was no longer suffused with a heavy, sorrowful atmosphere but was filled with happiness, emotion, and an abundance of warmth.

“Ah, Ziyi is awake.”

Xiaoxiao glanced casually and saw Ziyi in the baby crib, awake at some point, staring with open eyes at Momo, who was still asleep beside him.

His little hand poking out from under the covers was moving slightly, as if he wanted to reach out and touch Momo next to him.

Wen Ran turned her head and, seeing Ziyi so focused on Momo, felt a warmth in her heart and said softly, “Ziyi, your sister is back, aren’t you happy too?”

Ziyi raised his little hand, his eyes looking at Wen Ran as if to say he was happy and wanted to hug his sister.

Wen Ran was amused by his expression, and Xiaoxiao, next to her, let out an exaggerated laugh before stepping forward, bending down, and picking Ziyi up.

“Godson, call me godmother, and I’ll let you hug your sister.”

“Pfft, Xiaoxiao, I’m afraid that wish is going to be dashed. Even if Ziyi is exceptionally gifted, he can’t possibly call out godmother now. If he actually did, I think you’d be scared off,”

Anlin teased with a laugh.

Asking a baby who isn’t even a month old to call someone “godmother” is really something.

“Xiaoxiao, when do you plan to return to D Country?” Wen Ran doused Xiaoxiao’s pride with a bucket of cold water at her triumphant moment.

The brilliant smile on Bai Xiaoxiao’s face stiffened in her words, and she looked up to glare fiercely at her, grumpily saying, “Ranran, can’t you let me be happy for a few days? Momo has just come back, and I haven’t even spent time with her yet. How could I go back to D Country now? Those boring things don’t compare to the fun I have with my godson and goddaughter.”

“You don’t want to leave just because you want to play?”

An Lin clicked her tongue twice, and as Ziyi, who was being held by Bai Xiaoxiao, couldn’t touch his sister, his little mouth puckered a few times before he finally burst into tears.

“Xiaoxiao, give Ziyi to me.”

Seeing her son cry, Wen Ran immediately wanted to comfort him with distress.

“Ranran, it’s okay, don’t be so nervous. My godson just probably wants to see his sister. Godson, do you want godmama to let you touch your sister?”

As she spoke, she bent down and placed Ziyi in the crib, yet she didn’t put him down on the bed; she continued to hold him, letting his hand touch the sleeping Momo.

Ziyi’s tiny hand finally touched his sister’s, and his fingers gently curled while he stared unblinkingly at his sister, forgetting to cry.

The sleeping Momo woke up a few seconds after Ziyi grasped her little hand.

“Momo’s awake.”

Fang Zhiwei watched the scene unfold in surprise and couldn’t help but exclaim as Momo awoke.

An Lin also stared unblinkingly at Ziyi and Momo, the two adorable babies, having heard that babies can sense their mother’s emotions while in the womb. Now that they were in this world, they surely weren’t clueless about anything.

Ziyi and Momo were twins; despite their young age, they knew of each other’s existence and appeared to have a deep connection.

The moment Ziyi grabbed Momo’s hand, he stopped crying.

And when Ziyi grasped her hand, Momo woke up.

Then the brother and sister duo just ignored the four women beside them, only staring fixedly at each other, as if they were communicating or simply curiously gazing at one another.

Maybe no one knew what they were thinking or if they could think at all, but such a scene felt incredibly warm.

To use a popular phrase now, it was downright adorable!

Wen Ran, An Lin, Bai Xiaoxiao, and Fang Zhiwei dumbly watched the two children stare at each other until Bai Xiaoxiao’s arms grew sore from holding them, and she finally lifted Ziyi, “So tired, so tired.”

“Waah!”

Just as she lifted Ziyi, Momo in the crib began to cry loudly, just like Ziyi had done before.

Listening to her daughter’s cries, Wen Ran felt another pang in her heart and bent over to pick her up too.

“Ranran, let me hold her.”

Seeing Wen Ran pick up Momo, Fang Zhiwei hurriedly reached out her hands.

Wen Ran smiled and shook her head, “No need, Momo is light, I can hold her, it’s fine. Is Momo looking for your brother? Don’t cry Momo, from now on, you and your brother can play together every day.”
