Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1132: 1131 If there is a next life

“Okay, I’ll make the call.”

Cheng Jia was truly frightened, especially by He Cheng, that perverted old man who tortured her without treating her as a human being.

It was Mo Jingteng who had given her He Cheng’s business card, instructing her to seek out He Cheng, certainly not with any kind intentions to help her.

And He Cheng, in turn, wasn’t going to help her that easily, nor allow her to study abroad.

So Cheng Jia sold her body, allowing He Cheng to torture her for a month until she served him to his satisfaction, only then he sent her overseas.

During that time, she accidentally learned that He Cheng was also involved with Fu Jingyi, maintaining contact with Li En even after Fu Jingyi was imprisoned.

Cheng Jia frantically pulled out her phone, about to make the call, when her phone’s ringtone sounded first.

“Hello.”

Cheng Jia pressed the answer button, her voice somewhat slurred as she spoke.

From the driver’s seat, Mo Xiuchen watched Cheng Jia answer the call through the rearview mirror. Not quite lucid, she had turned the call to speakerphone, and the voice on the other end came out of the phone, filling the small space of the car.

“Miss Mi, the police have surrounded us, what should we do?”

Upon hearing this, Mo Xiuchen’s eyes darkened, and he whispered, “Tell her to bring Momo out.”

“Mo Xiuchen, only if you agree to marry me.”

Cheng Jia frowned, tilting her head to look at Mo Xiuchen.

“Miss Mi, is there someone next to you? Mr. Li said that under no circumstances should the baby be handed over to the police.”

“Mo Xiuchen, did you hear that? Li En doesn’t want to give Momo to the police. In fact, he doesn’t want to give Momo to me, which you might not know.” Cheng Jia laughed again, her smile laden with mockery.

She let out a boozy belch, her voice still slightly drunken, “Li En said, just like Wen Ran, your daughter would be a perfect test subject. He plans to inject the drug for gene alteration, which his mentor had been researching, into Momo.”

“Are you telling the truth?”

Mo Xiuchen’s eyes darkened, and he asked sharply.

“Of course, it’s true. His mentor hated Gu Yan all his life, and now he hates Gu Yan’s son, Gu Kai, but can’t bear to use Gu Kai’s daughter. So, he set his sights on Wen Ran’s daughter.”

Mo Xiuchen hadn’t expected that Li En was not only involved in this matter, but was also targeting his daughter. He clenched his hand on the steering wheel, turned his head, his gaze frosty as he looked at Cheng Jia, and said tersely, “Tell them to hand Momo over to the police, and I won’t pursue your previous actions.”

“Really?”

Cheng Jia asked, not quite believing.

After all, she had kidnapped his daughter; how could he possibly not pursue it.

She had tasted the ruthlessness of this man.

“When I speak, I mean it,” Mo Xiuchen said, heavy but firm in tone.

Cheng Jia looked at his handsome features, recalling how she had finally entered his bedroom this afternoon, even sharing dinner with him. Hesitating, she spoke into the phone:

“You bring that baby out and hand her over to the police.”

“Miss Mi, Mr. Li mentioned that the baby will be taken out of the country in a couple of days, then no one will be able to find her ever again.”

“I told you to give her back to the police, didn’t you hear me?”

Cheng Jia was annoyed; that woman was infatuated with Li En, obedient to him, completely disregarding her.

“I only listen to Mr. Li.”

Having said that, the woman on the line simply hung up.

“Little bitch.” Cheng Jia cursed resentfully, and seeing Mo Xiuchen turn his head to look, she raised her phone, “She hung up on me… Mo Xiuchen, be careful.”

Before she could finish speaking, Cheng Jia suddenly screamed.

It turned out that at the left intersection, a large truck was sprinting through the last two seconds, and Mo Xiuchen had been distracted ever since Cheng Jia picked up the phone.

Listening to her conversation with the woman on the other end of the line, his emotions were fluctuating, and he kept turning to look back at her, failing to notice the oncoming truck.

Amidst Cheng Jia’s cry of alarm, Mo Xiuchen turned his head and instinctively turned the steering wheel as the truck approached, but then he thought of Momo, and in the last moment, he turned the steering wheel back in the other direction…

“Mo Xiuchen.”

Cheng Jia’s voice tore through the night, echoing inside the cramped car cabin.

All the effects of the alcohol vanished when she saw the truck charging towards them. Mo Xiuchen struggled to open his eyes in the driver’s seat and said in a deep voice, “Call her, tell that woman not to hurt Momo.”

**

Western Suburbs.

When Cheng Jia arrived, the police were encircling the rental house.

“Within twenty minutes, I’ll definitely bring Momo out,” she said to Officer Lu, who was stopping her.

Lu Zhiyan hesitated for a moment, then stepped aside.

Cheng Jia didn’t enter the building directly but went through another one beside it. Her figure disappeared before the rental house’s staircase as Lu Zhiyan, leading a group of police officers, waited outside.

Not knowing the situation inside, the waiting seconds felt unbearably long.

Finally, after fifteen minutes, Cheng Jia came out of the stairway carrying a baby. She was alone, staggering along while Lu Zhiyan’s expression changed, and he hurried over.

“Officer Lu, Momo is unharmed.”

Seeing the worry in Lu Zhiyan’s eyes, Cheng Jia gave a forced smile, handed Momo over to him, and then collapsed onto the ground.

The baby’s blanket Cheng Jia was holding was stained with blood.

Cheng Jia’s hands were covered in blood, and a pungent smell of blood emanated from her body. Lu Zhiyan handed Momo over to the following pediatrician, instructing them to check whether the baby was injured.

“Officer Lu.”

Cheng Jia called out with difficulty from the ground.

One hand was pressed tightly against her abdomen, and the other hand stretched out towards him. Looking up, she looked at Lu Zhiyan.

“You’re hurt; let’s get you to a hospital first.”

Lu Zhiyan knelt down beside her. Although Cheng Jia had committed heinous crimes, there were still many questions he needed to ask her.

“I know I won’t make it. Please tell Mo Xiuchen for me that I truly loved him. I never wanted… to hurt his daughter. If there’s a next life, I hope to meet him before Wen Ran does.”

Cheng Jia spoke with great difficulty, breathlessly, and her voice grew weaker.

Lu Zhiyan’s brow furrowed, supported her, and had to lean closer to hear her say, “And, Li En…”

She didn’t finish her sentence before she stopped breathing.

“Commander Lu, the two people inside are also dead,”

Two police officers came out from the basement and reported to him as they ran to Lu Zhiyan.

Lu Zhiyan looked at Cheng Jia’s lifeless body, with several stab wounds on her. He walked over to inspect the other two dead individuals— a man and a woman— being carried out.

Cheng Jia had entered from another building; an officer reported to him that the basement connected to that other building.

“Cheng Jia actually killed those two people.”

Lu Zhiyan gestured for the bodies to be taken away and went to the car front to ask the pediatrician holding Momo, “Is the child injured?”

“No external injuries, but we’ll need to perform a thorough examination at the hospital to know for sure. She’s sleeping soundly right now,”

The doctor said, furrowing his brow slightly.
