Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1112: 1111 has a message from Momo now

That night, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran stayed in the same room but not the same bed; both of them suffered from insomnia.

The next morning, just as the sky began to lighten, Mo Xiuchen got up from bed.

After washing up, he saw that Wen Ran was also awake and spoke softly, “Ranran, do you want to wash your face now? I’ll get some water ready for you.”

“I’ll go to the washroom by myself.”

Wen Ran rejected his kind offer and, with Mo Xiuchen’s support, got out of bed.

“I’ll help you over there.” Mo Xiuchen supported her to the doorway of the washroom; after watching her enter, he closed the door for her and waited outside.

Once Wen Ran was done washing up, Mo Xiuchen helped her back to bed and called Gu Kai. Gu Kai told him he was already on the way and would arrive in a few minutes.

“Ranran, Ah Kai will be here in a few minutes. Have some breakfast and then get some more sleep. I’ll head to the police station to find Lu Zhiyan first.”

“Aren’t you going to have breakfast?”

Wen Ran couldn’t help herself and voiced her concern.

A gentle curve graced Mo Xiuchen’s lips, “I’ll just grab something to eat outside later.”

“Then, give me your mobile phone so I can call you if I need to.”

Wen Ran’s lips pursed as she spoke in an even tone.

Mo Xiuchen paused, his narrow eyes lingering on her face for a few seconds before he suddenly understood why she was willing to give him two days; in fact, it was so that he would come back, and she could get his mobile phone.

“Ranran, let’s keep the mobile phone with me. If those people call again, we can trace their exact location. If you need anything, have Qing Feng give me a call—it’s the same. If I have time at noon, I’ll come back.”

“Okay, you go.”

Wen Ran nodded and stopped insisting.

Seeing her acquiescence, Mo Xiuchen stepped forward, bent down to kiss her forehead, then leaned down to kiss the sleeping Ziyi, and left the ward with long strides.

At the hospital entrance, Mo Xiuchen ran into Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi, a flicker of surprise crossing his eyes. His gaze skimmed over the stainless steel insulated lunchbox in Bai Yiyi’s hands before asking Gu Kai, “Why are you two together?”

“I took her home last night and just brought her along this morning.”

Gu Kai explained with serene indifference, his eyes on Mo Xiuchen as if to say, what’s with the fuss.

A hint of discomfort flashed across Bai Yiyi’s face, especially under Mo Xiuchen’s scrutinizing gaze that seemed to imply they were having an affair.

‘Affair’—the word leaped into Bai Yiyi’s mind and startled her. She turned to glance at Gu Kai and said, “You two talk. I’ll go and bring Ranran her breakfast.”

Gu Kai remained silent, just giving Bai Yiyi a faint look.

“Go ahead.”

Mo Xiuchen nodded, then added, “After Ranran has breakfast, let her sleep a bit more; she probably didn’t sleep much last night.”

He himself had insomnia and figured Ranran must have been the same.

Bai Yiyi uttered a sound of acknowledgement and entered the hospital with the lunchbox.

“Are you heading to the police station again?”

Gu Kai inquired, eyeing Mo Xiuchen with a probing look.

“Yes, I’m off to the police station. Ranran gave me two days; I hope, within these two days, we can find Momo.” After saying this, Mo Xiuchen asked, “Have you decided to give up on Fang Zhiwei?”

“Weren’t we clear about this yesterday?” Gu Kai frowned unhappily, “Yesterday afternoon, I called her, and she wouldn’t tell me where she was.”

“Xiaoxiao lost Momo and feels guilty about it; she must be trying hard to find Momo,” Mo Xiuchen glanced at his wristwatch and said, “I must go now, remember, take good care of Ranran.”

“Go ahead.”

Mo Xiuchen walked a few steps, then turned back, and seeing Gu Kai still standing there, he raised his voice slightly, “Ah Kai, if Tongtong had a complete family, it would benefit her growth.”

Logically, Mo Xiuchen should be too annoyed about Momo to care about Gu Kai’s business.

However, when he had seen Bai Yiyi arriving at the hospital with Gu Kai, his first reaction after his surprise was that his previous guess might be correct.

Mo Xiuchen wasn’t the only surprised one; so was Wen Ran.

When Bai Yiyi came in with a thermal container and called Wen Ran to have breakfast, Wen Ran looked at her, puzzled, “Yiyi, why are you up so early? Is Tongtong awake already too?”

She knew that Tongtong was only a few months old.

Bai Yiyi smiled and shook her head, placing the thermal container on the small table beside the bed, and reached out to touch Ziyi’s little cheek. She explained, “Tongtong woke up, and I had breakfast with her; I let my mom take care of her. I intended to sleep in, but last night, I didn’t drive home, and this morning, your brother woke me up with a call first thing.”

“Did my brother give you a hard time?”

Wen Ran asked with some concern. She had observed how Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi interacted; to put it dramatically, wherever the two were together, it was like a war could break out at any moment.

The fact that Gu Kai would drive Bai Yiyi home and then bring her to the hospital was indeed a surprise.

Bai Yiyi shrugged her shoulders and said teasingly, “No, your brother, for your sake, refrained from taking issue with me, a young lady, for now.”

“Okay, if my brother bullies you, just tell me,” Wen Ran said, then frowned, adding, “I have no idea how Fang Zhi Wei is doing either, I heard my brother really lost his temper with her.”

“Ranran, have your breakfast first,” Bai Yiyi said. “Mo Xiuchen just now reminded me to make sure you eat breakfast and get some more sleep. He said you didn’t sleep well last night.”

“He himself didn’t sleep well either.”

“Did you two have a fight last night?”

Bai Yiyi asked, perplexed. Mo Xiuchen said she didn’t sleep well, and she was saying Mo Xiuchen didn’t sleep well.

Wen Ran blinked, then shook her head, “No, I asked him for my phone this morning, and he wouldn’t give it to me.”

“Ranran, maybe two days’ time will be enough to find Momo.”

Wen Ran looked downward, her lips pressed lightly together, “I also hope that in two days’ time, we can bring Momo back.”

Wen Ran ate her breakfast while Bai Yiyi chatted with her. After breakfast, Ziyi woke up, and Wen Ran breastfed Ziyi.

With Bai Yiyi’s cheerful nature, she was just as quirky and charming as Bai Xiaoxiao on a normal day, sharing similar interests with Wen Ran. With her company and mindless chatter, Wen Ran felt a bit better.

At least, she wasn’t constantly thinking about Momo and feeling sad.

At eleven o’clock, Bai Yiyi’s phone rang; the incoming call was from Wen Ran’s number.

“Ranran, it’s Mo Xiuchen calling; you should take it.” After seeing the number, Bai Yiyi immediately handed the phone to Wen Ran.

A flicker of surprise crossed Wen Ran’s eyes as she took the phone and pressed the answer button, speaking softly, “Hello?”

“Ranran, I just wanted to tell you, we have a lead on Momo.”

On the other end of the phone, Mo Xiuchen’s voice came through, deep and magnetic, mixed with barely contained excitement and joy. Wen Ran was stunned for a few seconds, her brain processing the information, and the next second she asked excitedly, “Mo Xiuchen, where is Momo now, is she safe?”
