Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 979: 978 I’m pregnant. Chapter 979: 978 I’m pregnant. “Ranran, be careful!”

On the side, Qin Mu’s handsome face drastically changed with fear. Without thinking, he immediately pulled Wen Ran in front of himself.

In the hall, the sound of a tray and soup bowl hitting the floor was muffled by the carpet. The scalding soup splattered everywhere, some of it burning the waitress’s hand and body as she whimpered in pain.

Wen Ran, pulled by Qin Mu, narrowly dodged the scalding liquid but ended up falling into his arms.

Qin Mu’s heart was in his throat as he gripped her wrist tightly, asking anxiously and with concern, “Ranran, did the soup burn you?”

Wen Ran shook her head. Her heartbeat was still irregular from the shock of the moment. She wasn’t scalded, but the fear lingered.

If it hadn’t been for Qin Mu’s timely pull, the soup now spilled on the floor would have been on her instead.

“I’m fine.” She subtly took a step back. Qin Mu immediately let go of her hand. Wen Ran then took another step to the side, and only then did she turn to look at the waitress. The hall manager had arrived as quickly as possible, paying no mind to the waitress with tears and reddened eyes from the burn. Instead, he was frantically apologizing to Qin Mu and Wen Ran.

Qin Mu’s gaze swept over the waitress with a sharp coldness. Before he could speak, the hall manager began reprimanding loudly. The waitress was probably new; Wen Ran had never seen her before.

Seeing her hands red and swollen, holding back tears as she apologized, Wen Ran furrowed her brows, speaking lightly, “Be more careful next time. Go and treat your hand first.”

“Qin Mu, let’s go.” Not giving another glance to the hall manager with his mercenary expression, Wen Ran looked up at Qin Mu.

Qin Mu nodded, annoyed by the hall manager’s words, and cut off his apology with a cold voice, “Enough, stop talking.”

“Yes, Young Master Qin, please take your time leaving, you and Miss Wen…”

After Qin Mu and Wen Ran left the hall, Shen Yuting slowly put away her phone, turning to her colleague who was dining with her, “What were you saying just now?”

“I was asking, what good stuff did you catch?”

Shen Yuting smiled mysteriously, “Indeed, it’s something good, but it’s a secret for now. What else do you want to eat? Just order anything.” A brilliant smile spread across her face, but inwardly, she felt the complete opposite.

The day before, the head of her hospital had approached her, saying she was chosen to represent the hospital abroad in the latest medical research project. Although she wasn’t keen on going overseas, she was proud, thinking it was her ability that had secured the position for her.

However, she later overheard people saying that her recommendation had nothing to do with her abilities. It was Young Master Gu of Kangning Hospital’s intention. Hearing that was like a cold bucket of water poured over her head, chilling her to the bone.

She had approached the head of the hospital that morning and agreed to go abroad.

They wanted her to leave G City simply because they were afraid she would compete with Wen Ran for Mo Xiuchen. Well, she would grant them their wish.

“Really, just order anything? Then I’ll have another abalone…”

When Jiang Liu’s phone rang, he had just finished a photoshoot and was removing his makeup.

Seeing that it was Shen Yuting calling, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. After pursing his lips, he pressed the answer button, “Hello, Yuting.”

“Ah Liu, do you have time right now?”

After a moment of thought, Jiang Liu replied, “I have time, Yuting, what’s up?”

“I have something to tell you…”

Shen Yuting arranged to meet at the cafe they frequented. When Jiang Liu arrived, she was sitting by the window, propping her cheek with her hand, gazing blankly outside.

Jiang Liu paused at the entrance, then walked toward her.

“Yuting, have you been waiting long?” Jiang Liu pulled out the chair opposite her and sat down, ordering a coffee just like hers.

Shen Yuting collected her thoughts, shifted her gaze from the window to Jiang Liu’s face opposite her, and said faintly, “Not long, I just got here too.”

Jiang Liu’s brow furrowed as he asked, “Are you not feeling well? You don’t seem to have a good complexion.”

Shen Yuting looked down, picked up the spoon in the cup, and gently stirred the coffee, not looking at Jiang Liu. Her voice drifted faintly, “The thing you promised me last time, do you have a plan and steps in mind now?”

At her words, the concern on Jiang Liu’s face was immediately replaced by another emotion.

He gazed at the determined, indifferent Shen Yuting before him, feeling as if an invisible hand was clutching his heart viciously, a pain that was difficult to articulate spread through his body in an instant, making even his breathing somewhat labored.

“Yuting, I’m sorry, I regret it.”

Jiang Liu’s voice was somewhat stiff; he regretted the promise he had made to her last time.

It was not for Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran, but for the woman in front of him. He couldn’t watch her sink deeper because of a wrong, obsessive love, destroying herself.

Shen Yuting, who had been looking down, raised her head, and various emotions gradually appeared on her indifferent face: doubt, anger, deep disappointment at his untrustworthiness, and even emotions that Jiang Liu couldn’t understand.

His eyes flickered, disregarding the pain in his heart, and he spoke softly, “Yuting, don’t be so persistent anymore. If Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran could have been separated, they would have been split apart when he lost his memory by Cheng Jia. They wouldn’t still be together now.”

Shen Yuting glared at him angrily, “Are you saying I’m not even as good as Cheng Jia?”

“Yuting, you know that’s not what I mean.” A hint of hurt flashed through Jiang Liu’s eyes. He couldn’t believe she wouldn’t understand his intention; she just didn’t want to understand.

Shen Yuting sneered, “Isn’t it? How come I feel it is, you said Cheng Jia couldn’t even separate Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. I would be even less likely to do it. But Jiang Liu, you promised me before, how can you go back on your word? My dad was injured the day before yesterday because of this, are you really willing…?”

“Yuting, how can you say such things.” Jiang Liu’s expression darkened, his voice low and anguished, “Uncle Shen was injured because of drunk driving, how can you blame it on Wen Ran.”

Shen Yuting pursed her lips tightly, picked up the coffee in front of her, and said faintly, “Ah Liu, I’m pregnant.”

Jiang Liu froze.

After a long moment, he came to his senses, his first reaction was to reach out and snatch the coffee from Shen Yuting’s hand, “Yuting, how can you still drink coffee if you are pregnant.”

Shen Yuting had no intention of drinking; she dodged to the side, Jiang Liu’s reaching hand grasped at air, and his handsome face’s expression changed rapidly.

Shen Yuting just quietly watched Jiang Liu, her lips slowly curling up, “Do you want this child?”

“Yuting, what do you mean?”

Jiang Liu, still shocked by the news, was somewhat dazed, his mind not fully clear.

Not long ago, he had spent a night at her apartment. That night, they hadn’t taken precautions. He hadn’t expected her to become pregnant, and upon hearing the news, he couldn’t tell if he felt joy or sorrow.

Shen Yuting tilted her chin up, her expression mixed with stubbornness and indifference: “If you want this child, then agree to one thing for me.”
